File -> New Project ->Web-> ASP .Net Web Application
I am using VisualStudio 2015 Community version, before I was able see option MVC on this page, but I am confused what should have went wrong.
I tried creating project using WebApplication option available, this created a template which mostly looks like MVC, few new folders like migration and services.
It will be great if someone can help me through this.

I've created a new Web Application Project in VS2015 using the newer aspnet5 templates. However I can't seem to find a straight answer on how to specifically target the .NET 4.6.1 Framework with it. Looking at the pictures below can someone please shed some light on how to use the newer prject structures but target the .NET Framework 4.6.1 with them. According to microsoft this is possible but I can't make heads or tails on specifically how to do this.

The old way seemed much more straight forward. Showing a specifically targeted framework.
The same problem exist for Class Library projects where it seems to want to target an SDK vs a particular version of the framework.
I believe you need to set your DNX_IIS_RUNTIME_FRAMEWORK environment variable to "DNX461". I found this question relevant.
Ok, so I'm using Visual Studio 2012, with web essentials 2012, and I just created a new ASP.NET Empty Web Application. I added a LESS file to my styles folder and referenced it accordingly. Now, as it seems, this new ASP.NET Empty Web Application doesn't support LESS compilation right out of the box.
What I wanted to know is if that assumption is correct, and, if so, which is the best option to bring in support for LESS compilation on the server? Less.js? dotLess.js?
I'm still kinda confused when it comes to LESS compilation on the server, because I don't want to compile it on the client, like just adding the less.js script to the HTML file.

I have an existing application developed using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 C#. I just purchased Xamarin's Monotouch product which allows me to use their IDE MonoDev to create iPhone/iPad applications from scratch by coding C#. Right now I don't want to code a new application. I want take my existing C# application import the source into monodev/monotouch and have the result run on the iPhone/iPad. My existing C# application is designed for deployment on Android phones/tablets using Xamarin's Android product. It works great! I have begun wading into the Xamarin documentation, samples, tutorials etc. But I need to port the existing application to iPhone/iPad right now, right away. I really don't have the luxery to spend time learning from scratch. I've got to belive someone has already gone down this migration path. If you have can we talk, email, or do you know if there is a guide describing the specific steps to take to accomplish this?

Xamarin MonoTouch does not allow you to run any C# application and run it immediately on an iPhone. The UI layer is native, so the C# code that constructs the UI must use the Xamarin bindings onto the Apple UI APIs.
The 'standard' migration process is to create an empty MonoDevelop project then start adding your existing C# business logic files, resolving any compilation issues as they arise.
I am new to sharepoint and installshield. My responsiblity is to build and deploy the sharepoint solution as a package using istallsheild. Previously I was using solution package wsp and content database restoration. But now the client wants to deliver the total solution i.e. dlls, ascx files, xml files, servce files(.cs), feature files using installsjield from development server to another (test and/or client) server.
Can any body help me on this: how to do the sharepoint deployment using installshield?

I presume you are using SharePoint solutions to package dll's, ascx and xml files for deployment to a sharepoint server. These solutions are built using a tool like WSPBuilder.
If not: YOU SHOULD!
If so: Why not use SharePoint Installer? It is an installer wrapper around a .wsp (SharePoint solution) file. It will check for the existence of a sharepoint installation, if the required services are started etc.
For deployment to a test machine: Why would you need the .cs files? If you want to test (debug) code on a test machine, I suggest you use either continuous integration using a tool like CruiseControl.NET, or just install Visual Studio on the test machine (which I presume to be a dev test, not a client test machine) and get the latest version, do a build, then roll out the solution.
And what do you mean with "client" server? is there some windows app that's communicating with sharepoint included in the installer? If so, I suggest separating the SharePoint solution from the actual windows app. They might share DLL's but are not supposed to be in the same installer.
We are using a tool (open source - saf.codeplex.com) to automate the Sharepoint components using MSBuild/Features/STSADM etc. Recently they have upgraded this to use WIX so that we can deploy any SharePoint components.

i have project in C#, ASP.Net and SharePoint. i want to deploy it usung VS2005 Setup and Deployment tool (As i am not allowed to use any otther software). Can i deploy the Sharepoint part like webparts in VS2005. please tell me what steps i have to take for sharepoint.

In short using the VS2005 Setup & Deployment for deploying items to SharePoint is not recommended or not supported.
SharePoint by itself has it well know deployment way called SharePoint Solutions or WSP file. Almost all the items you will want to deployed to SharePoint can be done using WSP(this includes WebPart as well, not only webpart it will allow to add a safe control entry to WebConfig as well). As per your question you are not allowed to use any other tool. To create WSP solution you will not need any extra tool. You can create a WSP file just with notepad (ddf file) & makecab.exe (its avaliable in most of the windows OS).
If you want to make it life simpler try out WSPBuilder and to install the WSP to sharepoint you can use the STSADM command or SharePointInstaller I have been using these tools for past 3 years and they work like charm.
You also have another option of doing it in the Visual Studio just by installing this template VSeWSS version 1.2!
