I've got three primefaces line charts in my 2nd tab of a tabview. I've got a big "Print to PDF" button above the tabview. I'm using the exportAsImage feature to pass the chart images to the server so I can cobble together the PDF.
Here's my problem. When I click the 2nd tab, allowing the charts to render, then "Print to PDF", it works. If I don't click the 2nd tab and click "Print to PDF" while on the 1st tab, it doesn't.
I've tried setting dynamic to false in the tabview and changing responsive to false in the charts. Neither worked. And no, I can't move the 2nd tab to the 1st.
Is there any way to render an inactive tab with charts without clicking it?
Is there some other way to render a chart without showing it?

I have created an "Expandable/Collapsible" structure using VBA. I have added some form controls, like a dropdown or option buttons in each of the section, but the issue is that, when the whole thing is collapsed, the form controls are visible in the button. please check the screenshot and advise a solution.
Yes that is because you have not selected Move and Size with cells.
That option is greyed out when you right click on the control and then click on Format Controls | Properties | Move and Size with cells for Option Button and Combo Box as shown below.
You need to use a different way to activate it.
Click the control and then click as shown below
And then from there you can set those properties.
Now those controls will hide when you collapse the rows.
I'm looping through the ActiveX controls on my spreadsheet to implement tab control. I have around 100 controls in my spreadsheet, so not everything fits on a single "page" (it's all in the same tab, you just have to scroll down.)
I can use Activate to set the focus to the next control. However, when I tab through the controls and pass the bottom of the viewable window, the window doesn't automatically scroll to show the control with focus.
Is there a way to get the spreadsheet to scroll so that the control that has focus is actually on the screen?
Sorceri nailed it right on the head. I used Window.ScrollRow to scroll down the page after I set the focus. The only issue is that this sets the bottom of the row to the top of the window, so it's just off screen. I was able to resolve this by specifying:
ActiveWindow.ScrollRow = row-3
Thanks!
I have tab registers with a p:commantButton. By clicking on this button I load an entry list in a p:dataTable (about 10,000) to make some selections (navigated to another page). My selection is added to my p:dataTable on the p:tabView, where i clicked on the button. After comming back to the page the two buttons are displayed twice and a click on the same button does not call my java method any more until I refresh the page completely.
Any Idea ?
thanks for your help

I am doing a dashboard. To resolve the problem with the space, I would like to show a chart which changes depending of which icon an user clicks (see image in following link: http://screencast.com/t/IvzllhxCi).
Charts are already done and ranges defined. The chart showed in the dashboard was inserted using the "Paste picture link" function (sorry if this is not the correct name, but I use Excel in spanish). I assume, that the best way to do it is creating different macros which define the data of a chart and are fired which every icon click, but... is there a more efficient way to do it?
How about just creating all the charts, putting them on top of each other and then showing / hidding the appropriate chart when a user clicks the icons via:
chart.Visible = xlSheetHidden;
And
chart.Visible = xlSheetVisible;
I have a dashboard that I am displaying, and whenever my users click on a pivotchart or pivottable the field list automatically pops up. How can I prevent this from occurring?
If you wish to use ad hoc analysis tools such as pivottables and charts in a dashboard like this, the field list will always appear.
If you are able to use static data then render it out to that format and replace what you currently have with it.
Edit the chart in Dashboard Designer. In the Commands and Options dialog box select Chart Workspace in the drop down list. Once you do that, the tab Show/Hide should appear. On that tab you can clear the checkbox for the Fields List. Clear any other checkboxes in that dialog, and close the window. Click on your chart in DD and make sure the fields list (and any other dialog boxes - ie Commands and Options, Drop Zone, etc) don't appear. Publish your chart and you should be good to go.
