For the desktop Opera browser we have Firebug to debug the webpage (debugging the HTML structure, CSS properties, etc.). Is there any kind of similar debugging tools that can I install in Opera Mini?
You can use special commands(enter command into address panel):
server:console - Show console and javascript error for current page
server:source - Display the current page's source code
server:reset - clears all cookies
config: - Open the the Power User Settings menu
opera:cache - Displays the size and URL of cached pages and images
about: - Displays information about the Opera Mini server
debug: - Displays a page listing many Opera mini server and client properties. The "Host:" field tells you which Opera Mini server you are currently connected to.

We have a ColdFusion Server running on top of IIS. All of our pages can be viewed in desktop or mobile mode, which just changes some CSS around but shows essentially the same page. We've run into an odd situation where on one particular page of the site:
It works fine on a PC viewing the page in desktop mode
It works fine on a PC viewing the page in mobile mode
It returns a err_connection_reset on any mobile device viewing the page in mobile mode
What could cause one particular page on a website to show up fine in desktop browsers but return an err_connection_reset on mobile browsers.
This page is not large, and is made up mostly of common components that are used on other pages which are working fine. No error appears in the server logs (our own, ColdFusions, or IIS').
Google keeps returning me pages about problems with Chrome's data saver mode on pages with 302 redirections. However, this page does not redirect, and we've experienced this on Chrome, Safari, and the Android browser, on both Android and iOS devices.
I am using a chrome extension to temporarily change layout of a Google search webpage. I am changing heading and description of the Advertisements displayed. This part works fine.
Next, I need to take screenshot of desktop, tablet and mobile views. getting desktop view is pretty straight. However, for tab/mobile view if I uses any of mobile emulator, or dev console, they refresh the html page before providing the mobile/tab emulation. This results in loosing the html page changes that were done by the chrome extension.
Is there are way to use mobile emulation without reloading/refreshing the page, so that the changes done in html are intact even in tables/mobile views.
I got the answer !
In Dev console, we have the option device toggle(Ctrl+Shift+M)
This way, temporary DOM changes done in desktop view were intact in mobile view as well.
I'd like to use only one browser (preferably safari, chrome oder firefox) where I have my bookmarks from the iCloud on my MacBook running Yosemite. Furthermore, I'd also like to have a page monitoring add on/extension for this certain browser. The methods I found so far are:
Two browsers: Safari for bookmarks and Chrome with Page Monitor add-on.
Chrome with page monitor and this add-on (works only on windows).
Using Safari and installing an extra app (Changes Meter) for monitoring. I tried this app, but it looks like it has troubles with the webpages I'm monitoring as it says after every check, that there were changes, although there weren't.
Using Chrome with Page Monitor and sync bookmarks between Chrome and Safari with Xmarks Sync. But this gives troubles, as iCloud and Xmarks don't really work out together, means the bookmarks I add in Chrome are synced with Xmarks to Safari, but then won't added to cloud bookmarks...
As these methods are not satisfying for me I'd like to ask if you have a solution for this (using one browser with both features)?
After trying to figure out why my favicon was not showing across various browsers (except Safari), but replaced by a gray globe, I found the following discussions:
http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/923022
It seems this is now normal either for websites that do not supply identity information or when one's connection to a website is not encrypted.
Even the major websites don't show favicons.
Is this a problem with me or are we not seeing favicons in the URL address bar as commonly as we used to?
I believe favicons today are even more popular than in the past.
Part of the issue I believe you are running into is how favicons are displayed. It isn't that they are less popular, but the location or how they are displayed may have changed.
Here is the rundown on where they are displayed.
Address Bar: Firefox v1 - 12, IE 7+, Opera v7 - 12 and Safari
Address bar drop down list: Firefox
Links bar: Firefox, Chrome, IE 5+, Opera 7+
Bookmarks: Firefox, Chrome, IE 7+, Opera 7+, Safari
Tabs: Firefox, Chrome, IE 7+, Opera 7+
Drag to Desktop: Firefox, Chrome, IE 5+, Opera 7+
(List from Wikipedia)
You also have to consider that favicons are now playing a larger role because of mobile devices. When someone bookmarks or pins a site to their screen it will use the favicon. I find that having favicons set for mobile are great because it shows a logo or icon vs seeing the page crammed into a small icon on the screen.
Bottom line: Favicons are not going anywhere and I highly recommend programming them for both desktops and mobile devices.
The IIS 7.5 (Windows 2008 R2) does not send static content fully. It means that some images and css are loads correctly and some images or css does not appears, only if I press F5 site loaded fully.
I searched a lot about this problem and can say that:
- problem not in cache;
- 'Static Content' IIS setting is installed;
- firewall works correctly;
- cross browser problem;
Open your site in IE9. Press F12 to open up the developer tools, switch to the network tab and click the buton called start capturing.
Reload the page until you reproduce the loading errors you report.
Click stop capturing.
Use this report and look at the result coloumn, are you getting 404 or 404.2 errors?
