junk chars in mapped drive url to access WebDAV store - linux

I came across a strange problem. I m using WebDAV to access files over the network and using windows explorer to map a drive to the webDav URL.
In some windows client systems when I try accessing the file store the WebDAV server is receiving junk character with the URL and the search / get fails to produce any output.
Have anyone faced a similar issue and is there any solution for it.
OS : Oracle Enterprise Linux
WebDAV is deployed as a web application on a weblogic 11g server.
Client: windows 7 SP1

It seems to be a multi locale keyboard issue.
UPDATE:
It is because of a McAfee endpoint encryption on the client machine. Was able to reproduce it after applying the encryption.

What TLS protocol does Server.CreateObject("Msxml2.XMLHTTP.6.0") use?

I'm using classic asp on IIS on Windows server 2012, and Server.CreateObject("Msxml2.XMLHTTP.6.0") to make soap requests against a payment processor, and "suddenly" it stopped working.
The payment processor has disabled TLS 1.0, we're supposed to do TLS 1.1 or 1.2; I think this is the cause of the problem...
How do I see and if needed change which protocol it uses?
Take a look here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/network-programming/tls#systemdefaulttlsversions - specifically at sections SystemDefaultTlsVersions and SchUseStrongCrypto. You should also go ahead and disable all insecure ciphers/protocols/key exchanges in SChannel - the windows component responsible for SSL/TLS.
There is a GUI tool called IISCrypto from a company called Nartac that has some common profiles that are (somewhat) safer than editing the registry directly for disabling various obsolete components. see https://www.nartac.com/Products/IISCrypto.
Word of warning - be careful with your SChannel settings (either editing the registry or using IIS Crypto) - the settings are used throughout windows and are required for services like RDP and WinRM among other things - backup first, then test carefully.
I had similar situation - I have used Msxml2.XMLHTTP for API endpoint call in VB script and suddenly it stopped working. I got error "The system cannot locate the resource specified" and http.status returned 12029. The problem was not in the URL, it worked when I tried to call the URL from the browser. But when I started VB script, it has failed on the line http.send.
How I solved it finally?
I hade to install recommended update to my Windows Server 2012:
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 for Windows Server 2012 for x64 (KB4486081)
and I have installed one optional update too:
Internet Explorer 11 for Windows Server 2012 for x64
After this and server restart it started to work again. I can use both: "Msxml2.XMLHTTP.6.0" or "Msxml2.XMLHTTP", it does not matter.

how can i access laptop through mobile without using any internet connection

I wanted to access my laptop using my android mobile. I have already accessed using Team Viewer. But it require a Internet connection. I want to access my laptop on my android mobile.
Is there any way to connect.
Assuming your computer is running Windows you'll most likely want to use the built in Remote Desktop Protocol.
Microsoft has a free Andeoid app in the Google Play Store here.
Microsoft has a FAQ page for their Android app here which describes the necessary setup procedure.
If your computer is a Mac or running a Linux based OS you'll probably want to look into using VNC which is usually supported right out of the box although may require some configuration.

How can I determine the data source value to a connectionstring in sql server 2012 when using (LocalDb)\v11.0 in a workgroup and not a domain?

Environment: 64 bit Windows 8
Platform: Visual Studio 2012, SQL server 2012, IIS8
Language: C#
I'm currently creating an asp.net web application using a tutorial from msdn. The site runs fine and is visible in google chrome when I select the run button. I published the website to a folder on my desktop and am attempting to host it through IIS. The main issue I am having is trying to figure out the full computer name so I can update my connection strings in the web.cong.
The connection string is as follows:
connectionString="Data Source=(LocalDb\v11.0);"
When I try to browse the website in IIS I get a database error because I'm not defining the full machine name in the datasource attribute. I'm in a workgroup and am not on a domain. Also I can't log into sql server with just my ip address. I can only log into sql server with (LocalDb)\v11.0.
Can anyone help me find a way to determine what the value of my data source should be so I can possibly hit the website externally? Has anyone run into this problem on a home pc without a domain? I have done this on my work computer many times but have never tried to host anything from IIS on my home computer.

Why this Help Desk System redirects me to the old server?

I am using the Liberum Help Desk as a Service Request System. It is host on a server that is running Windows Server 2008 R2 32-bit. I configured it with an Access database. It works well. Now, I am trying to shift it to another server running Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit. At the beginning, I have an error with the JET driver, because there is no JET driver for the 64-bit machines. I fixed it by enabling 32-bit option in the advanced settings of the application pool. However, I am still facing a strange problem which is the following:
When I tried to browse the system that is on the new server (64-bit), it will redirect me to the system hosted on the old server (32-bit) and I don't know why. I checked the code to see if there is any link or something for redirecting me to the old server and I did find anything.
So how to fix this problem? what is the reason of it?
Finally, I found the solution. The problem was with the Access Database; there is a table called config and inside it there is a column for determining the link. I changed the link there and everything works fine.

Is it possible to connect to a microsoft database like sage from a Linux server?

The documentation of sage says this.
You have a Linux Server (Operating system:openSUSE 11.1 + Plesk 9.5) not a windows Server Thus the technical specifications for the Sage Line 50 are not met and cannot be installed on the Server you have.
Sage line 50 Technical specifications: (http://shop.sage.co.uk/accounts.aspx)
Compatible operating systems
Windows XP Service Pack 3
Windows Vista
Windows 7
Windows Server 2008
Windows Server 2003
I know sage says this, but i also know you Linux boys are great. Is there any possibility of this happenening or must i get a windows based server
Any information would be great
You're referring to hosting, not connecting. You will need a Windows server.
Sage is not a microsoft database its a third party app written by Sage. Sage uses a flat file system to store data so technically you could store the data on a linux server using samba and connect to the network path on your windows client to access the data. probably not supported but it would def work.
