I have made changes in User permission Joomla 2.5 akeeba Component. because i have added some users under Super User. I have Blocked permission to access Administrator access for other users. At that all things worked correctly. After few days I changed version of akeeba backup. After that I can't access to the component from Super User too.. I have uninstall the component and again Installed it. But the same problem
403 - An error has occurred. Access forbidden
How to resolve this error.. what are the changes to be in the DB or anything!!
If you get a 403 Error, then it seems to me a problem with the file or directory permissions on your webspace - not within joomla. Joomla does not show a 403 error if you are not allowed to access a function due to your joomla access level.

I am trying to change the content of my site (it is a help site and I have gone from using one software package to another for creating it) and usually, I would just make sure that the content was in the root folder and all is good.
The issue is that when I change the content I get a 404 error, so I did some googling and put some code in the web.config file and now I get a 403 error! Then I tried everything I could and still get the 403.
If I change the content in the root folder back to the original, there is no problem and on another site I have, I can just add a folder then navigate to www.site.com/newfolder and it works fine.
i just created a new laravel project install the authentication package like i usually does, but when i tried to access login, it return error 403 and said :
"Access forbidden!
You don't have permission to access the requested directory. There is either no index document or the directory is read-protected.
If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster."
the register is working fine and all other pages that i create are fine too, just the login that has error when i tried to access the login form. i dont understand whats wrong because i did the instalation just like usual and it worked on the last project a week ago
i'm using apache

I was getting "HTTP 403 error Microsoft Edge can’t get to this page", while launching an application from IIS in Windows 10. Please suggest a solution for this.
thanks
If all permissions are set and even though your website shows 403 forbidden, most likely the default page is not set for your website. With IIS, you can configure the default document as follows.
Connect to IIS.
Expand the sites and select the desired website.
From right hand side feature view, click on Default Document.
Set your desire default page and save the settings.
While you browse any website, IIS searches for the default page to be displayed. If the first default document is not available, IIS will look for the next default page from the list. When IIS is unable to find any match and directory listing is enabled for that particular website, IIS will show you the list of folders. If directory listing is disabled, IIS will return an HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden message to the browser.
If an empty application gives you a 403 I can think of two immediate reasons.
The permissions are wrong. You might need to give the application pool user (IIS AppPool\NAMEOFAPPPOOL with recommended configuration) read permission to the directory.
You don't have any content. If you try to access a directory in IIS you will get a 403. Add a file and try to access that directly, or a Default.aspx or index.html file to the directory you're trying to access.
I Have hosted a website in IIS 7.5.Which was working fine till yesterday. But suddenly today am not able to access any of its pages and am getting following error.
Access forbidden!
You don't have permission to access the requested object. It is either read-protected or not readable by the server.
If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.
Error 403
Googled a lot but could not find any resolutions.Any Comments will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Have you checked to see if anything has changed for the user IIS_IUSRS?
Check what type of security you have in place. Was it anonymous before and needs some type of windows integration?
We've just set up a new dedicated server at hostgator, running Windows 2008 Server, IIS7 and ColdFusion 8 ENT.
On browsing the homepage, sometimes the site works, sometimes, part of the site runs and I can see a 403 error in Firebug. At other times, I only get an IIS error page saying:
"403 - Forbidden: Access is denied. You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied."
The site is http://www.asia-buy.com. It might run first time, but if you refresh it a few times, you'll probably encounter the problem.
There is a lot of ajax and JSON stuff going on under the hood and I'm wondering if that has any bearing on the problem.
Would appreciate advice from anyone who may have solved a similar issue in the past.
Resolved: Hostgator says this is actually a security setting in IIS to attempt to prevent DDOS attacks on the website. A a developer, I use CTRL-F5 a lot. A normal user would not.
Full error:
HTTP Error 403.502 - Forbidden
The IP address from which you are browsing is not permitted to access the requested Web site because it has made too many requests over short period of time.
Open IIS Manager.
Go to your website.
Go to Features/IP Address and Domain Restrictions/Dynamic IP Restriction Settings
Uncheck the boxes, or change the values, as needed
