Search-Plugin for Eclipse - search

i have written am Eclipse-plugin and now need to extend it with a search functionality. I know that Eclipse has a search feature, but it does only search the workspace and what i need is to look after matches within my own plugin and than to show the result in a tree structure. Is there any examples of search-plugins for Eclipse? I would appreciate a link of some hint :D

Check out the org.eclipse.search.searchPages extension.

Intellij - Disable "whole project searching"

When I want to find usage of accessors in my Java class IntelliJ perform searching in whole project which hangs whole IDE. Can I disable or narrow this "deep" searching?
I am currently using the latest version of IDEA Ultimate--(2017.3)
In the menu for accessor usage, there should be a filter icon that you can use to narrow the search to a group as you define it. See the below link for more info:

hope this helps!

Where do I put custom syntax highlighter definitions for Sublime Text?

I have created a custom syntax definition in the new .sublime-syntax format, but I can seem to get it to appear in my list of available syntaxes...
I have tried putting it in:
<Install Location>/Packages
<Install Location>/Packages/User
<Install Location/Data/Packages
<Install Location/Data/Packages/User
%APPDATA%/Packages
%APPDATA%/Packages/User
The documentation seems to be bit light on how this works, but I'm hoping that someone can enlighten me!
The proper location for user-defined syntaxes, plugins, build systems, etc. is Packages/User, where Packages is the folder opened by selecting Preferences -> Browse Packages...*. I'm not on Windows at the moment, but I believe this is %APPDATA%/Sublime Text 3/Packages/User. Once you place the file there, it will be available from the syntax menu under User.
Also, please recall that .sublime-syntax files are only supported in the dev builds currently, and you need to be a registered user to run them. They will not work with Build 3083.

Android Studio Plugin - Show Image In Editor

I'd like to be able to display an image below a class-level javadoc in Android Studio. My assumption is that I should write a plugin to make this happen.
Does anyone know what I need to do to get an image (JPEG or PNG) to display below a class-level javadoc comment in a Java class file?
I looked into basic information about creating an IntelliJ IDEA plugin but I have no idea where to look to accomplish my task.
This is not possible in the current version of IntelliJ IDEA. The editor can display only text, and does not support embedding of non-text things such as an image file.
You can display images on hover, or in popups, or in dialogs, but not within the editor itself.
Do you want the image to show in the class' source code itself? As an aside, images in Javadocs will show when you view the formatted javadoc view the Quick documentation action (Windows/Linux: Ctrl+Q or Mac: ^J)
If you still want the image to show in the source code, then yes, you will need to write a plug-in. You can look at the Information for Plugin Developers
Setting Up the Plugin Development Environment section of this web page - https://www.jetbrains.com/idea/plugins - to get started. You'll have to dig through source code to try and find some ideas for how to display an image in the source code. As much as I love IntelliJ IDEA, there plug-in documentation is a bit weak. When I wrote a plug-in, I had to do a lot of looking through the IDEA code to find code that was doing things similar to what I wanted to do. I also downloaded the source code for some of the better plug-ins out there and looked through them.
Finally, you can ask for some guidance in the IntelliJ IDEA Open API and Plugin Development forum. That forum is monitored by JetBrains developers. Your best bet to getting answers in that forum is to ask very specific questions. Do not try and get someone to explain from start to finish what you need to do. As you do each step, ask questions about what you are trying to do.

Do a Find in Current Namespace in Visual Studio?

Want to be able to do a Find but contain my results to the current namespace the current opened file is in. Like "Current Project" but "Current Namespace". Is there a plugin or tool that can do this?
You can always use a regex :
namespace my_namespace(.*\n)*.*my_search
That's kind of an ugly solution, since it will select everything between namespace keyword and you search. But that's still useful.
You can adapt it and change capture groups in order to be able to use it for replacements.
Rather than parsing and inspecting every code file individually, Agent Mulder plugin utilizes ReSharper's Structural Search (sometimes known as Structural Search and Replace, or SSR) to look for patterns of code in the entire solution. This is both effective (since the solution structure already exists in ReSharper's caches), and makes it very easy to extend Agent Mulder to support additional containers.
Here is an overview of ReSharper's Structural Search API (based on ReSharper SDK v6.1)

Vim Plugin: Follow Symbol under Cursor

Is there a vim plugin that allows you to place the cursor over a function and have a plugin run a script that searchs a tag or some other entity for where that function is defined. Or perhaps it provides a list of places where that function is defined? Specifically I am looking for a C/C++ based plugin.
You want ctags, which supports many, many languages beyond C. It will show you the definition of the function or variable under the cursor.
cscope integrates nicely with Vim to do exactly that and more. Where a function is defined, where it is called etc. You may also need a tags with cscope.
The vim website hosts a lot of plugins, you might really want to look there. Also, you didn't really specify what languages you wanted this to apply to, so this is a very broad question (hard to find a real answer to this).
An alternative to your question is, instead of putting the lookup capability into vim, why not put in into something else that already has it? Why not eclipse? There's an eclipse plugin called vrapper that gives vim like functionality within eclipse. You can then use eclipse to do the referencing and lookup that you want to do, because it already has this supported for many languages.
Edit: wouldn't this solve it?
I think you wanted to know what it was that you had to do to be able to solve the problem, as though you knew the feature was there but not how to use it. That link explains it. If that is the solution to your problem, please remember to vote & check XD
