how to make the content of wcm 7 searchable - search

I am basically trying to make the content of WCM 7 searchable .That is the search will be done on data of WCM 7.
But I am stuck on it how can i proceed?

Use the following link:
http://infolib.lotus.com/resources/portal/7.0.0/doc/en_us/pt700abd004/html-wrapper-wcm.html#wcm_dev_search

One of my project used Omnifind to search content inside WCM, which is more powerful than builtin searching capability.

Customize Search Portlet in Liferay DXP 7

I would like your support in order to get some help in customizing the search component in Liferay DXP 7.0 Enterprise.
I have reviewed all the available documentation but although I have found many articles about the issue, the step by step is not so clear for me.
I need to customize the native search component:
Change the input component to give suggestions while the user is typing the search terms
Change the search result page look and feel.
Anyone ever implemented anything like this?
I know this is an old thread, but StackOverflow keeps showing it as the first open question when I am navigation this particular tag...So here are some pointers, as this is a pretty broad topic...
The search is really confusing for adding customization. Mainly you have to provide some of them as contributors, using the asset framework. following the regular steps to build an asset for the asset publisher you will hit the best place to find documentation about the search contributors.
About the search page, best is to create a new page, besides the default one for extra freedom. As long you use the friendly URL /search it will a basic replacement. In this page you can add everything you need, except for translations for the friendly URL - not great. Another option is to keep the default page (which will not be visible in the build area 7.1.x, but you can edit after you search something and fall inside it).

Can I display multiselect list items as onordered list using Razor?

I was wondering if this is possible with razor syntax (I have found that there are other ways that utilize jquery). Please point me in the right direction if you know one. I am working on a MVC 5 project.
Thanks.
Yes, this is possible by creating custom html helper methods. Refer this little example which would be helpful.

Modx(Revolution) search function for FAQs

I'm trying to implement a search for my FAQs page. I'm using the modx extras FAQ Manager and SimpleSearch. SimpleSearch works quite well if you're searching modx resources, but the problem I've run into is how to search a database table for example the FAQ Manager table where the content is not tied to a resource. Is this possible?
I've noticed that SimpleSearch has a &customPackages property, but I can't seem to get it to work. If someone could show me an example of how to use simple search in conjunction with FAQ Manager, I would be most appreciative.
You can search in a custom package through AdvSearch with a custom queryhook: http://www.revo.wangba.fr/custom-package-dvd-shop/
and the corresponding snippet since the link doesn't seem to work: http://www.revo.wangba.fr/assets/files/advsearch/queryhook/dvdqhook.snippet.txt
I believe you can use the advanced search package to search database tables: http://rtfm.modx.com/extras/revo/advsearch

Solr and web site indexing to create a site search

I was trying to build a 'site search' on a simple http site.
I have a site, lets call it www.mycompany.com, that is pure html.
Is there an easy way to use solr to index the entire site to build a full text search using solr as the engine?
I googled for a bit and could not find anything specific of the type:
Do A
Do B
...
profit!
Let me also know if I am a bit off with what is solr for :P
Thanks in advance.
Solr is only for indexing and searching text, it does not have a crawler since it's out the project's scope.
However take a look at Nutch, which is a crawler and not too hard to setup initially.
Nutch and Solr can be integrated if you need some Solr-specific feature to search the index.
$ bin/solr create -c corename
$ bin/post -c corename https://siteurl.com -recursive 2 -delay 1
This would do a basic index of the site but it would not be the best. If you want simple then there it is. It can be done.
I think this only works on solr 5+.
Two other options you might want to look at are Crawl Anywhere and Heritrix

Drupal search - alternative ways of doing it?

3rd Drupal question in a day.. guess what I'm doing!
OK, I've got the default Drupal search block, but I really need to find a way of restricting it to just searching one particular content type which is called "recipes" (guess what that one contains!)
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can restrict the search and then go about controlling the output display?
Thanks!
You can use the Search config module. If this module does not your work you should also look at this page: http://www.drupalmodules.com. Just type in "search" and you can find a few search plugins with descriptions.
I recommend the Finder module, which works well with CCK and filters and is straightforward to theme.
You could be interested in trying Faceted Search, which add a series of blocs to filter the results returned by the search module. There are many other modules which are related (see Projects related with Faceted Search).
