Yesterday, I replaced my Win7 OS with CloudReady (similar to Chrome OS which is developed by Chrominium Project). Now I want to develop Android Apps. So, how can I Install Android Studio?
Link OS which I'm running, and want to install Android Studio: https://www.neverware.com/freedownload
If you are using the 64bit version of CloudReady, you can install it via a flatpak.

I'm running LinuxMint and developing in Android Studio while using PyCharm for a class so I can code in Python. I have openJDK7 installed and I'm currently using it for both Android Studio and PyCharm. Whenever I open Android Studio, though, it complains and says that I should use the Oracle JDK, not OpenJDK. Is there a way to install multiple versions of Java and update the environment variables so that Android Studio uses the Oracle JDK and PyCharm sticks with OpenJDK? Or would it make sense to use the Oracle JDK for both?
Thanks in advance!
Im using phonegap on nodejs, but when I use the command
phonegap local build android
It automatically ask me for "Android 4.2 SDK"
Please install Android target 17 (the Android 4.2 SDK). Make sure you
have the latest Android tools installed as well.
How can I choose a lower vesion (android 4.1) of the sdk using phonegap for nodejs?
Short answer: you don't have to!
I struggled with this until I installed v17 and completed my first build. It turns out that the generated Androidmanifest.xml has minSdkVersion=10, so the minimum version required for your application is 2.3.3, it just needs to compile against v17.
For some reason, my Samsung TV emulator versions 2.5.1 (2011) and version 3.5.2 (2012) work fine except for version 4.0 (2013). When I open it, it says
Emulator for Windows has stopped working. A program caused the program to stop working...
I installed the following on my machine and still doesnt seem to work:
Visual C++ Redistributable 2005 x86 and x64
Visual C++ Redistributable 2010 x86 and x64
Microsoft .NET 4.5 Latest
Java JDK (including JRE)
Latest Direct X from

Any ideas why it shows this message? Thanks. I am on Windows 7 64 bit.
You may need to install fonts for Emulator. Open C:\Program Files (x86)\Samsung\Samsung TV SDK 4\Emulator\Emulator2013_v4\bin\, open *.ttf files and select Install.
