Edit button missing for changing folder permissions in my D drive - security

I was trying to change my folder permissions for the entirety of my D drive, but the edit button to change/modify permissions is not visible for D drive. ( it's visible for C and E drives, C being the drive where windows is installed )
How to get the edit button back for my D drive.
Thanks.
I looked all around youtube and google but all I could find was trying to take the ownership, but that did not help either.

firstly, run cmd as administrator. Then, type this command on cmd, this will give everyone full access(if you want you can change it, if it doesn't work, let me know pls):
icacls D:\ /grant everyone:F.

How To Create a 'Host' folder and Prevent It From Being Deleted In Mac OSX

case 1: How to make a host 'folder' prevent from being deleted, even if deleted it should ask password but still can read & write inside of it without password
Case 2: How to make a host 'folder' prevent from being deleted but this time the only way to deleting the 'host folder' is only with superuser do / sudo with ( terminal ) but still can read & write inside of it without password
Case 3: Please tell me how to undo for both questions above
I want to make Folder like E.g : Folder Downloads,Movies, Picture, etc. They can't be deleted but inside it's folder can be deleted easily
I have a solution for the first case(may not be conventional).
Create a folder wherever. Then create another folder inside the first one(for explaining purposes I shall call them f1 and f2). f2 will have all the files and folders you wish to be able to delete (and i recommend dragging it to your favourites tab in finder for ease of use).
Right click (or control+click) the folder f1 and click "Get Info". In the window that opens up under the "Sharing and Permissions:" section navigate to your username and take away the privilege of "Read & Write" and make it "Read only". This will make it so you cant delete folder f1 and f2 without entering your password but you can with your password and you can also read and write anything inside folder f2 without having to enter you password every time.
As for when you wish to undo this its as simple as simply right-clicking folder f1, clicking "Get Info" and giving yourself the permission to read and write again.
Edit : You could also lock the folder f1 instead of manually taking away as it essentially does the same thing(look for the text "Locked" with a box next to it)

Robocopy "Documents" folder issue?

I have a custom script I use for backing up my hard drive to a temporary external drive. It's a simply a number of robocopy lines (without /PURGE). I've having trouble with the windows documents folder. If I have a command: "robocopy C:\users\me\documents D:\backups\somerandomdirectoryname ..", every time it's done, Windows thinks that directory is a Documents directory and even renames "somerandomdirectoryname" to "Documents". It changes the icon, and then I can not actually eject the USB drive because Windows will not let it go. What is causing Windows to do this to me? Is there something I have to exclude to make it "just a normal directory" on my external device?
Found a cure to this, use the option:
/XA:SH
which stops copying system and hidden files - which are how the special attributes of the Document directory appear to be copied. Worked for me, I only wanted the data files.

Users mess with Clion

I have a problem with Clion:
I was using an administrator account (X) on my pc, and then I create a new account (Y) and gave it administrator power, too.
I am using the Y account and saving my projects in
**C:\Users\Y\ClionProjects\**
but every file I create is generated in
**C:\Users\X\.CLion2016.2\system\cmake\generated\**
and in the first line of the .h or .cpp appears the comment
*"Created by X the dd/mm/yyyy"*
When I run the program, in the run tab it says the documents belong to a directory into X user.
I looked for some option to modify the path or the creator name (i found a question on stackflow where they suggest to press Alt+Enter with the cursor on the comment but it doesn't work for my version).
I unistalled Clion, deleted .CLion2016.2 in X user and then installed again the program.
Now it compiles with the right path but it still writes the "created by X" stuff
and doing some actions requires me to create again the .CLion2016.2
I hope to have explain the problem crearly
Thanks a lot for your help

How to delete a git local repo folder in windows 7

I have created git clone in local directory. Then I have run npm and also installed some node packages(gulp etc). But I don’t want now the working directory. So I just did right click mouse and delete, I am not able to delete. I am getting the below error.
"The source file name(s) are larger than is supported by the file
system. Try moving to a location which has shorter path name, or try
renaming to shorted name(s) before attempting this operation"
What would be the issue.
On Windows, this thread shows that it can be:
a path length issue (the path is too long)
a process issue (which keeps an handle on one of the files being deleted)
I found out make a drive mapping about halfway into the folder structure you should be able to delete the latter half of the file heirarcy.
For example if you are getting the error trying to delete:
\\NAS.Device.Company.com\a\b\c\d\e\f\g\h\i\j\k\l\m\n\o\p\q\r\s\t\u\v\w\x\y\z
Then map a network drive Z: to
\\NAS.Device.Company.com\a\b\c\d\e\f\g\h\i\j\k\
This will reduce the file herarchy down to a smaller path.
Open explorer and view the Z: drive. It should contain a folder called L (in this example).
You should now be able to delete the L and its subfolders without an issue, thereby deleting half the folder hierarchy.
After that, disconnect the Z: drive and try to delete whatever is left normally.
Problem solved!

How I can grant write permission to the file Preferences.sublime-settings and locate this file of Sublime Text 3 using Elementary OS Luna?

I cannot grant write permission to the file Preferences.sublime-settings in Sublime Text on Elementary OS Luna 3. If someone went through it, can you help me?
There is no way to go to the directory where it is because it simply is not in the way I get by clicking with the right button of mouse > Copy File Path.
I get this path:
/home/llarruda/.config/sublime-text-3/Packages/Default/Preferences.sublime-settings
In the directory Packages i just have the directories User and the link of current directory (.) and level return link (..).
I sailed across the directory tree for the Sublime Text 3, via bash, listing including hidden directories, nothing positive. I tried to grant permissions recursively to the for the whole Sublime Text 3 directory and even the innermost level that I can access and should contain the file Preferences.sublime-settings, I haven't success.
I did the install from the .deb package obtained on the official website.
PS: I want grant write permission, but I force give to the whole directory full permition - sudo chmod -R 777 sublime-text-3, that inside on .config directory
In ST3, plugins/packages are run directly from the .sublime-package file. For most things, you don't actually need the contents of those files. For instance, you can create a Preferences.sublime-settings in the user folder, and it will be merged properly. That being said, ST3 does allow you to override files. To make things easier, you can use the plugin PackageResourceViewer. I wrote it to assist with viewing default files. Again, you don't need to do this for your particular case though. In the menu, go to Preferences -> Settings - User. This will create a preferences file in the user directory. When merged, the values in the User directory will be used rather than those in Default.
