I installed HAXM and tried to start the emulator, but it just shows me a black screen, what should I do to fix it?
I expected to see an image of the phone I installed(on the right)

Whenever I want to set a specific location/route, the AVD just shows me a black screen
However, the other settings are working just fine.
Other than updating the emulator, I tried looking it up online but couldn't find anything, any idea as to what can cause this?
If that can help, I am running the emulator from the command line. If I launch it from the IDE however the location settings do work. That is a temporary solution for me but I'd like to know if there is something else I can do about it?
I created an android API level 30 emulator, and ran one of my apps from Android Studio. I'm quite sure this app doesn't have anti-screenshot features, and yet, I couldn't capture a screen shot as the "camera" icon near the logcat was greyed out. Any idea why, or how I could enable the screen shot functionality?
The camera icon is at the bottom left in the image.
in your given screen shot there is in red color text which shows "No Device". I thing you have start your emulator but please make sure emulator is online. if its still not work then restart your ADB and then try again
My Android emulator for a Pixel 2 running Android Oreo (v26) suddenly started showing a pink and green pixelated screen every time it starts up. I am unable to recover it and it has not managed to boot successfully since.
I am running Ubuntu 17.10 and Android Studio 3.0.1, running NVIDIA display driver 384.90.
So far I have tried forcefully killing the emulator to prevent booting from a saved state, rebooting my workstation, and switching to the X.Org video driver. None of these have had any effect, and using the X.Org driver causes the emulator to fail to launch with a plethora of errors.
Has anybody encountered this before?
I was able to recover the emulator by forcing a clean boot. In the AVD menu, I clicked edit settings next to my emulator, and changed the rendering mode to Software-based. This made the emulator perform a clean boot, and fixed the issue. There is also an action to perform a clean boot in the additional actions menu.
After this, I switched back to Automatic rendering mode to make use of hardware acceleration again.
Ever since I installed Android Studio, I'm already experiencing this. I can't see the remaining options below. Every time I scroll down, this happens.

I'm trying to use the emulator in android studio, but the screen is displaying with the wrong size and even position. This is what it looks like.
I've tried changing android device, android operating system, and turning off the border, none of which solved my problems. I'd appreciate help. I'm afraid this problem is causing by DPI aware scaling - I have a high resolution screen.
It's a nice aesthetic touch to see it as an "actual" device, but if it's not going to display properly, it's just an eyesore. Disabling the frame also seems to make the emulator run smoother as well.
In Android Studio 3.14
Tools -> AVD Manager
Actions -> Edit this AVD (Pencil icon)
Uncheck Enable Device Frame
