On Azure Data Factory, I want to use an Azure-SSIS Integration Runtime (IR) on an existing SSISDB which already contains SSIS packages.
In the Microsoft documentation, it says:
"Confirm that your database server doesn't have an SSISDB instance already. The provisioning of an Azure-SSIS IR doesn't support using an existing SSISDB instance."

So what if I have an existing SSISDB already on the Azure cloud server? Before I can use the SSIS IR, do I need to delete the SSISDB and re-create it through provisioning of the SSIS IR?
Is there a way to use a newly created SSIS IR on an existing Azure cloud SSISDB?

I have an on-premises data gateway service in Azure, which connects to an on-premises SQL Server (this is a standard Azure service, which can be configured).
When I am in the data gateway service in the Azure Portal, I can see that I can "Read and write data using logic apps" right off the bat.
How do I use my newly created on-premises SQL server gateway in Azure Data Factory? I have found some videos on how a gateway is set up, but this I have already done. I simply need to create a new data pipeline, where i make a COPY DATA activity, so I can copy data from this on-premises SQL server to a Cloud Azure SQL server using the gateway.
There is no such requirement to setup any kind of data gateway when accessing on-premises SQL Server using Azure Data Factory.
Azure Data Factory (ADF) makes it very easy to connect with on-premises SQL Server and copy the data to Cloud. You just simply need to create Self-hosted Integration Runtime (IR) in your local machine which will allow you to access the data. Refer this simple step-by-step official tutorial by Microsoft to Create and configure a self-hosted integration runtime.
Once your Self-hosted IR created, you just need to use ADF's Copy data tool and configure your source and destination settings. Use the self-hosted IR which you have created and run the pipeline.

I have successfully created a runtime in DataFactory and have stuff running.
When I go to create another runtime in Azure Purview, it prompts to remove or repair which results in the lose of the ADF one. How can I utilise the same runtime on multiple services.?
I came across this documentation which details how I can create shared runtime but only within the ADF.
Did I miss something? Given that runtime is defined as The Microsoft Integration Runtime is a customer managed data integration and scanning infrastructure used by Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Purview to provide data integration and scanning capabilities across different network environments. Shouldn't it be cross service detectable?
Looks you could not use the same runtime with DataFactory and Azure Purview.
From the doc - Known limitations of self-hosted IR sharing:
The sharing feature works only for data factories within the same Azure AD tenant.
From the Note in this Azure Purview doc:
The Purview Integration Runtime cannot be shared with an Azure Synapse Analytics or Azure Data Factory Integration Runtime on the same machine. It needs to be installed on a separated machine.
In Azure Data Factory it is possible to create 3 types of Integration Runtimes using the Portal:
Azure
Azure-SSIS
Self-hosted
But looking at Terraform documentation site for the AzureRM provider it is only possible to create an Azure-SSIS (azurerm_data_factory_integration_runtime_managed) and self-hosted (azurerm_data_factory_integration_runtime_self_hosted).
Have anyone successfully created a default Azure IR connected to a virtual network as specified in https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/data-factory/managed-virtual-network-private-endpoint using Terraform?
No, not really, unfortunately AzureRM provider doesn't allow it yet.
Also it can't be done using Azure CLI for Data Factory or similar.
Main reason may be the public-preview of Azure Data Factory Managed Virtual Network.
What is new though (and part of the solution) is public_network_enabled property on ADF, you still have to define private endpoint, but that's one step forward.
By default if you are not specifying the Integration runtime resource of data factory from terraform, it picks the Azure (Auto resolve) Runtime by default.
We currently have an Azure DevOps 2019 on-premises instance and have provisioned a new organisation on dev.azure.com. We are looking at integrating our on-premises Dashboards with dev.azure.com so that we can get a holistic view across both instances. Does anyone know if this can be done?
You can try migrating your collection data from on-premises server to azure devops cloud service. Then you can reconfigure your dashboards to include data migrated from the on-premises server.
There are migration tools you can use. Check out Azure DevOps Migration Tools
You can also check the the data migration tool provided by Microsoft. But it seems here that it only allow to migrate the on-premises collections to an empty new organization on azure devops services. See document here for more information.
As per the document, the SQL login has to be deleted or password has to be rotated post import. My question is, do we even need the VM after we successfully import? Can we terminate the Azure SQL VM after importing the TFS collection?
After the TFS instance has been imported into Azure DevOps, you can delete all the resources created for the migration.
This includes any VM's, Storage accounts etc.
