SharePoint page using address with the 365 connected domain - dns

I have a 365 tenant on domain {somename}.onmicrosoft.com and a connected domain {othername}.com
I was able to create users as {username}#{othername}.com
I wonder how I can have pages show with https://{othername}.com ?
Is there an admin action to take or should I add a CNAME?
Thank you

If you have added domain as your tenant domain you can manage DNS via your office 365 admin portal https://admin.microsoft.com/Adminportal/Home?source=applauncher#/Domains
You can simply add an A record to your web server.

Turned out, you can forward sub domain (like www. for example) at the domain manager. it is not a CNAME.
So now https://www.{othername}.com will take me to {somename}.onmicrosoft.com but will also show {somename}.onmicrosoft.com in the address bar but that's OK.
Thanks

Avoid Custom Domain Name Rewriting URL to Google Site

I have registered my domain name example: zoek.com in Google domains forwarding it to google sites sites.google.com/view/zoek/home.
Now, whenever users are visiting zoek.com, the URL in the browser is redirecting to sites.google.com/view/zoek/home. Instead, I want to retain on zoek.com
I added CNAME record as per instructions, still no luck
I don't have GSUITE. I want to do it without GSUITE. Is it possible?
IF I have to buy GSUITE then what's the cost of it yearly?
Thanks in Advance!

Cross domain access in Sharepoint 2010

There are two domains A and B (separate forests). Sharepoint site is deployed in A domain. Is it possible to user from domain B to get access to the site?
As far as I understand Sharepoint is based on Active Directory accounts. Is it possible to have the user in both domains or are there any other alternatives?
Another option, not mentioned in the answer from Johny, would be to set up your Sharepoint applications to authenticate via ADFS2.
This options is easy to set up but in the same time it's very flexible. You tell your sharepoint to trust one particular ADFS but then, you can federate your ADFS with other ADFSes on different domains or break existing federation relations. You don't touch your Sharepoint when configured once.
The relation graph would be:
Sharepoint -> (trust) -> ADFS2 on domain A -> (possible trust) -> ADFS on domain B, C, others
Technically, if ADFS2 is federated with other ADFSes, your users get an option to login using A, B or other identity provider. The default ADFS page shows just a combo of identity providers but you can customize the page and show anything, like friendly images for example.
Yes you can create cross domain access, but it requires a bit of work with the servers not code.
1.cross domain access:
You have to create a trust between the domains. Furthermore I believe you have to set up DNS, so the users (domain B) can 'talk' to the DNS in domain A.
The trust will mean that, users in domain B can authenticate in domain A, and find the sharepoint site. Also remember if there are firewall between the domains, this needs to be taken into account. Here you can read about setting this up, but I recommend you research more before implementing this solution: http://www.quantumofgeek.com/2010/09/configure-sharepoint-to-authenticate-cross-forest-ad-users/
2. users in both domain
If you have the users in both domains (duplicate username/password) it will still be different logon because of the domain name. And if users change their password it will not be reflected in the other domain.

Cooperation e-mail from cloud (O365) and from other provider

I have a question about usage alias and cloud e-mail. Let's say that my customer have two domains x.com and x.pl. He wants to migrate mailbox with domain x.pl into cloud. But some of his eployees must be in x.com domain and they don't have account in clodu. Did the employee can create alias user1#x.pl (in cloud theres no account user1#x.pl)? Summing up I want to chcek that the employee can use e-mail adress user1#x.pl like an alias when his primary mailbox is in x.com domain on other provider?
User user1#x.com uses domain from other provider. User user2#x.pl uses domain from Office 365. User user1#x.pl ID don’t exist in Office 365. User user1#x.com want to use alias user1#x.pl – is this is possible when domain x.pl is use in Office 365?
Best regards,
You are probably looking on how to configure a shared address space with Exchange. See http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb676395.aspx for more information on this topic.
One of the mail server (either yours or the cloud ones) must have the option to forward mails for accounts on "the other" server. There is no way to tell alien mail servers "mails to this accounts go to this server, the others to the other one".

How to configure SharePoint to work for 2 different domains on the internet?

We have a SharePoint site which serves as our company site on the internet. Our company has 2 domains ".com" and ".co.uk". SharePoint works fine when you access the site using the ".com" domain. The problem is, when you try to access the site using the ".co.uk" domain, some pages (ones including custom lists, settings pages) do not work properly.
After doing some research, I found out that I needed to add the ".co.uk" domain under Sharepoint access mappings to make it work properly, but when I do that, I am redirected to the ".com" domain. By the way, the".com" domain already exists in the accesss mappings page.
So, what's the best way to configure our Sharepoint site to work for 2 different domains?
In addition to the alternate address mapping create a IIS website for it. This link might not 100% apply to what your using, but you should be able to make ends meet with it.

I solved the problem today. Here's how:
First I learned how to extend a Sharepoint site using the video: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/Video/ff679931.
In SharePoint Central Administration, I extended the default site (SharePoint - 80) for the ".com" domain.
Used "Create a new IIS web site Name" option, used domain name as the name,
Used port 80, domain name as the host header and the default sharepoint path,
Didn't change Authentication and SSL options, allowed anonymous access
Used the ".com" domain in URL and used Internet as the zone.
After extending a new IIS site was created. In Internet Manager, I clicked "Edit Bindings" option for the new site. The ".com" domain was already set in bindings. I added the ".co.uk" domain into bindings as well.
In Central Administration > Alternate Access Mappings, I set the ".com" domain URL as the Default zone and the ".co.uk" domain as the Internet zone. This automatically added internal URLs for both domains.

How can I take control of my domain that is registered to me but controlled by web developers?

I've got a problem where I have a .co.uk domain of which I am the registrant but my web developers control the domain via easyspace.com. I'm not using the web developers anymore and it ended on bad terms so I would like to change my domain to another registrar without getting them involved. Does anyone know how I can do this?
Thanks
In order to do anything with your domain, you need to be a registered user for it. for every domain, there 4 types of registered user:
Registrant/Owner
Administrative Contact
Billing Contact
and Technical Contact
If you do a whois look-up of your domain name you can see if you are one of those registered users.
If you are, you should be able to contact the Registrar of record (i.e. GoDaddy, Network Solutions, GKG, etc.) and gain an account control login if you do not already have a login for them.
Once you have an account, you can change the Name Servers thereby pointing your site to a different server than it is currently, or initiate a transfer to a new registrar (which costs money - typically the price of a 1 year registration)
Tell them to give you control of it. You're not asking them to do something for you, you're just demanding them to hand over what's yours (assuming the domain is yours).
If you own the domain name, you should be able to change the information with the registrar to point it at another hosting service or your own.
Change your domain host to point to a new name server that you control.
You may lose your web site code but can always start a fresh.
