Error on starting worker nodes in spark standalone cluster - apache-spark

I am trying to setup a spark standalone cluster with 3 nodes. Configurations for Linux servers are below:
master node with 2 core and 25GB memory
worker node 1 with 4 core and 21GB memory
worker node 2 with 8 core and 19GB memory
I have started the master node successfully and its url is spark://IP:7077
when I start any of the worker node with command ./sbin/start-worker.sh spark://IP:7077 I get the below error message:
22/11/25 09:13:58 INFO Worker: Connecting to master IP:7077...
22/11/25 09:14:54 ERROR RpcOutboxMessage: Ask terminated before connecting successfully
22/11/25 09:14:54 WARN NettyRpcEnv: Ignored failure: java.io.IOException: Connecting to /IP:7077 timed out (120000 ms)
22/11/25 09:14:54 WARN Worker: Failed to connect to master IP:7077
org.apache.spark.SparkException: Exception thrown in awaitResult:
openjdk 11.0.17 is the java version installed on all the 3 nodes
Any solutions to resolve this issue will be helpful.

Why am I getting "Removing worker because we got no heartbeat in 60 seconds" on Spark master

I think I might of stumbled across a bug and wanted to get other people's input. I am running a pyspark application using Spark 2.2.0 in standalone mode. I am doing a somewhat heavy transformation in python inside a flatMap and the driver keeps killing the workers.
Here is what am I seeing:
The master after 60s of not seeing any heartbeat message from the workers it prints out this message to the log:
Removing worker [worker name] because we got no heartbeat in 60
seconds
Removing worker [worker name] on [IP]:[port]
Telling app of
lost executor: [executor number]
I then see in the driver log the following message:
Lost executor [executor number] on [executor IP]: worker lost
The worker then terminates and I see this message in its log:
Driver commanded a shutdown
I have looked at the Spark source code and from what I can tell, as long as the executor is alive it should send a heartbeat message back as it is using a ThreadUtils.newDaemonSingleThreadScheduledExecutor to do this.
One other thing that I noticed while I was running top on one of the workers, is that the executor JVM seems to be suspended throughout this process. There are as many python processes as I specified in the SPARK_WORKER_CORES env variable and each is consuming close to 100% of the CPU.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
I was facing this same issue, increasing interval worked.

spark.network.timeout 50000
spark.executor.heartbeatInterval 5000
spark.worker.timeout 5000

Spark streaming job fails after getting stopped by Driver

I have a spark streaming job which reads in data from Kafka and does some operations on it. I am running the job over a yarn cluster, Spark 1.4.1, which has two nodes with 16 GB RAM each and 16 cores each.
I have these conf passed to the spark-submit job :
--master yarn-cluster --num-executors 3 --driver-memory 4g --executor-memory 2g --executor-cores 3
The job returns this error and finishes after running for a short while :
INFO yarn.ApplicationMaster: Final app status: FAILED, exitCode: 11,

.....
ERROR scheduler.ReceiverTracker: Deregistered receiver for stream 0:

What might be the reasons for this? Appreciate some help.

can you please show your scala/java code that is reading from kafka? I suspect you probably not creating your SparkConf correctly.
Try something like
SparkConf sparkConf = new SparkConf().setAppName("ApplicationName");
also try running application in yarn-client mode and share the output.
I got the same issue. and I have found 1 solution to fix the issue by removing sparkContext.stop() at the end of main function, leave the stop action for GC.
Spark team has resolved the issue in Spark core, however, the fix has just been master branch so far. We need to wait until the fix has been updated into the new release.

Can't spark-submit to analytics node on DataStax Enterprise

I have a 6 node cluster, one of those is spark enabled.
I also have a spark job that I would like to submit to the cluster / that node, so I enter the following command
spark-submit --class VDQConsumer --master spark://node-public-ip:7077 target/scala-2.10/vdq-consumer-assembly-1.0.jar
it launches the spark ui on that node, but eventually gets here:

Does anyone have any idea what just happened?

spark-submit cluster mode is not working

I am getting an error in launching the standalone Spark driver in cluster mode. As per the documentation, it is noted that cluster mode is supported in the Spark 1.2.1 release. However, it is currently not working properly for me. Please help me in fixing the issue(s) that are preventing the proper functioning of Spark.
I have 3 node spark cluster node1 , node2 and node 3
I running below command on node 1 for deploying driver
/usr/local/spark-1.2.1-bin-hadoop2.4/bin/spark-submit --class com.fst.firststep.aggregator.FirstStepMessageProcessor --master spark://ec2-xx-xx-xx-xx.compute-1.amazonaws.com:7077 --deploy-mode cluster --supervise file:///home/xyz/sparkstreaming-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar /home/xyz/config.properties
driver gets launched on node 2 in cluster. but getting exception on node 2 that it is trying to bind to node 1 ip.

It is not possible to bind to port 0. There is/are errors in your spark configuration. Specifically look at the
spark.webui.port
It is probably set to 0.
