How to take powerapps back environment in Azure devops ?
I need to take backup of environment before solution import into production environment so please explain the detailed steps.
There are 2 techniques you can do backup.
Backup your entire enviornment (i.e each and every Table, it's customization)
Backup your soluttion (i.e only compoenet which you want to backup). In dynamics world we deploy solution i.e components. If you want to backup only account entity. Then create a empty solution in your target env, add account entity and export it as unmanaged. This will also be considered as backup (but only for your account entity). Note: In this case data is not backed up rather only customization (medatadat).
But I think you are looking for 1. technique.

Currently I am tasked with researching a solution to easily copying data from one environment to another (QA to DEV for example) as well as having the flexibility of going to different times to compare our data. It is an easy task to do locally with SSMS and I am looking for the best ways to do it using Azure and it's tools.
These are the options that I found so far:
Backup Service and Backup Vault (The MS solution that I am not asking for. They don't generate .bak files)
Azure Function to execute generate and transfer SQL (flexible but the code needs to be maintained + manage authentication)
Powershell process with Azure Automate (Flexible too but needs to be maintained)
Datafactory/SSIS (Still learning and researching)
Anyone got any tools/methods that are worth looking into before I dive deeper with a solution?
For Azure SQL database, SQL Data Sync is one of feature for the data sync between Azure SQL and SQL server(on-premise). Some limits are that Azure SQL database must be hub and each must have a primary key. That may not suit you.
Per my experience, Data Factory is the best one for you. You can copy the data between different environment, in Sink settings, we can using upsert(insert or update) operation to sync the data.
If you only want to schedule the backup automatically for the SQL, the third-part tool also could feed your request: SQL Backup and FTP.
Since you have searched a lot and found almost all the options in Azure, all the ways can achieve that. You need to know your real request, data sync or auto backup create the .bacpac file to storage. That's not a good question to help you find the best way. The way you like, the way is the best.
I went with writing an Azure Automate powershell script. including cmdlts like New-AzureRmSqlDatabaseExport and passing in the parameters was ticky but it finally did the job.
My requirements are as below :
Move 3 SAP local databases to 3 Azure SQL DB.
Then Sync daily transactions or data to azure every night. If transactions of local DB are already exists in azure, update process will do on these transactions if not insert process will do.
Local systems will not stop after moving to azure. They will still goes about 6 months.
Note :
We are not compatible with Azure Data Sync process because of it's
limitations - only support 500 tables, can't sync no primary keys
table, no views and no procedure. It also increase database size on
both(local and azure).
Azure Data Factory Pipeline can fulfill my requirements but I have
to create pipeline and procedure manually for each table. (SAP has
over 2000 tables, not good for me)
We don't use azure VM and Manage Instance
Can you guide me the best solution to move and sync? I am new to azure.

Since you mentioned that ADF basically meets your needs, I will try to start from ADF. Actually,you don't need to manually create each table one by one.The creation could be done in the ADF sdk or powershell script or REST api. Please refer to the official document:https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/data-factory/
So,if you could get the list of SAP table names(i found this thread:https://answers.sap.com/questions/7375575/how-to-get-all-the-table-names.html) ,you could loop the list and execute the codes to create pipelines in the batch.Only table name property need to be set.
I am trying to setup continuous deployment for a group of Azure databases that all share the same schema. In my situation, there are a number of dynamic databases that get created via copying and renaming a standard template. The software will make a copy of the CompanyTemplate database and rename it to Company_XXXX.
I would like to create a Task Group and/or a script in VSTS (hosted) that can query the master database, get a list of the company database names and then loop said Task Group in order to deploy the same schema and scripts to each of the Company databases that get created.
I have been Googling and testing odds and ends for days but I cannot find anything pertaining to how this can be done. Any thoughts? Is this possible?
There is no loop concept in the VSTS Build/Release environment.
There are a few workarounds that sprint to mind:
Run a powershell script and implement the logic there. Using the loop constructs in Powershell.
Run a powershell to trigger as many builds as you want using the REST API.
To begin with, I want to acknowledge that reading the answer from #jessehouwing triggered a few thoughts on my end.
As he mentions in his answer, there isn't anything that would directly do what you're asking. However, some techniques do come to mind, depending on how you want to deploy the databases.
ARM Templates -
Setup an ARM template that uses Resource Iteration to deploy multiple Azure SQL Databases. (See MS DOCS on how to do that). Configure the template to copy the schema of an existing DB to the new ones. You'll need that template DB deployed to Azure to act as the schema source. To configure the ARM template to create the new databases as a copy of the template, look at the createMode property of the SQL Database ARM template (SQL ARM Template documentation).
Run a Powershell script that queries the master DB to get the list of companies (Query DB from Powershell).
Output the results of the DB query to a VSTS variable and pass that variable into the ARM template to produce the databases.
DACPAC -
Create a DACPAC from a SQL DB Project in Visual Studio.
You can either create a DACPAC that defines just the DB schema and use the ARM template technique above to run the DACPAC for each database you need in something of a hybrid technique - or
You can create a dacpac that queries your main DB for the list of
companies and creates a database for each one based on the defined
schema. This options encapsulates the process of creating the schema
and querying the main DB for the ones to create all into a single
deployment artifact
Each option has its Pros and Cons. The ARM Template option is going to give you the most flexibility, but requires that you have a template DB in place to copy from.
The DACPAC option requires familiarity with using that technique for deploying databases and may still require an ARM template to make the process as flexible as possible. It does offer the potential to encapsulate all the DB deployment parts into a single step.
There are a fair number of variables here, but I think this should give you some options to consider that will take you in a workable direction.
I'm new to Azure eco system. I'm doing some research on copying data from on-prem to azure. I found following options:
AzCopy
Azure Data Factory (Copy Data Tool)
Data Management Gateway
Ours is a Microsoft shop; so, I'm looking for tools that gel with MS platform. Also, down the line, we want to automate the entire thing as much as we can. So, I think, Azure Storage Explorer is out of the question. Is there a preference among the above 3. Or, are there any better tools?
I think you are mixing stuff, Copy Data Tool is just an Azure Data Factory Wizard to make some sample data moving between resources. Azure Data Factory uses the data management gateway to get on premises resources such as files and databases.
What you want to do can be made with Azure Data Factory. I recommend using version 2 (even in its preview version) because its Authoring is easier to understand if you are new to the tool. You can graphically configure linked services, datasets and pipelines from there.

If you're already familiar with SSIS, there's also the option to use SSIS in ADF that enables on-prem data access via VNet.
I'm starting using Windows Azure to manipulate my azure databases. I don't have experienced in IT world, I'm just looking a way to backup my database (preferibly in a local computer) and restore it.
I started reading from here:

CREATE DATABASE destination_database_name
AS COPY OF [source_server_name].source_database_name
But I'm not sure if it's working, in the next image, contoso2 is my original database and the another is the copy, and this one does not have any table from the original source.
So, please guide about how to backup my datases not using commercial products.

You have third party products available; some of which don't require you to purchase anything. Here is a good summary which is still valid. You can also use the Export/Import feature available right off the management portal of Windows Azure.
Well it is easy if you are using Sql Server 2012. If you are not then you can install the express version.
Select the database you want to back up in new portal of windows azure https://manage.windowsazure.com
In the footer you will have an option to import/export. Click export. This opens a modal popup. Select the storage account you want to use and type in a appropriate name to save the *.bacpac file.
Once the file is saved to storage, download it to local, open sql server 2012 management studio. Select the database server. Right click on it and in the context menu you will find Import Data-Tier Application. Select the bacpac file from you local and follow the settings.
At the end you will have your data residing on your local machine.
