Hi I have switched to a new PC and downloaded Android Studio. The design preview of Xml files were fine at first but after I added a device it started to grey out in a couple of seconds and this only happens to my main xml file.
Here is the main xml preview
How I want it to look like
I tried changing API levels and the device didn't do much for me. I also tried changing theme to Light Mode
try to unistall and reinstall android studio.
it seems an IDE bug.
Be informed, we are encountering a freak error in our android studio ide since a week. Whenever we right click "res/" folder and click new image asset, the new image asset dialog just does not open up. We tried opening it in different android projects but everywhere the IDE just stands still not opening any dialog. We are at loss as where this problem could be. Is there a need to upgrade to new android studio perhaps ? Any guidance on this issue would
be appreciated.

I'm facing a problem:two fingers tapping can not invoke context menu at JetBrains app and Android Studio. But other apps work fine. Now I use two fingers click to instead of it.
Has anyone encountered this problem? How to fix it?

Greetings.
I am learning java and android development for last two days. I am using android studio version 3.1.3
the welcome screen interface and open project screen that i used yesterday was different.
Today i am seeing a new screen and new way of opening android project.
below are the screen shots.
when i click on create new project the below screen appears
please guide me through this.
Delete the Android Studio folder in the user's folder. Let Android Studio download everything back and the view will become normal.
Going to events on the home screen and clicking 'enable android support' that this fixed my issue, however I did need to re-install all the SDK versions I previously used.
I've been using custom editor colors for Visual Studio for a few years now, through several versions. I just updated 2013 to Update 4, and now all my colors got screwed up. I reset to the default dark theme to go from there, and I noticed you can no longer change the color of classes and structs, or any identifier for that matter (I use C#). Instead they use the default color. What is happening?
EDIT: This seems to have occurred for VS2012 as well...
I found the source of my problem: Color Theme Editor Extension
It turns out that when the problem occurred I had the color theme editor installed on VS2013 Pro and VS2012 Pro. Even after I disabled it in VS2013, the problem remained in VS2013 Pro and VS2012 Pro and Express for Windows Desktop, so I dismissed that as the cause at first.
What was odd is that it did not occur in VS2013 Express for Windows Desktop. Resetting Visual Studio (any problematic version) to default settings did not fix the problem, it only made it less noticeable. I still had custom fonts and colors from my VS2013 Express installation, so I exported them then imported them into VS2013 Pro.
For anyone else who seems to be getting this issue because of this extension, try installing 2013 Express and re-creating your custom fonts and colors there, and importing the settings back into Premium/Professional/Ultimate. I am not sure if it will work for everyone, but doing that with my previous install worked for me.
