My mockito-core version is 2.23.4. I want to spy on MockitoTestService class and I do this code:

You shouldn't be calling readData or writeData yourself. These methods are called by Hazelcast internally when the data is about to be serialized/deserialized.
On your side, you should only register the data serializable factories you have created to the Hazelcast.
Then, upon receiving an instance of a class that implements IdentifiedDataSerializable and has a factory registered for it, Hazelcast will call the methods I mentioned above in appropriate places and return you the object read.
From the code sample you shared, you need to drop the line starting with newResponse.writeData(..., and everything should be working, assuming you did the factory registration.
Also, please fix your ResponseSerializablePlus and ResponseSerializable classes: You need to use writeInt method to write the statusCode field. The readData and writeData methods should be consistent with each other.

I Would like to execute a background task which executes multiple background tasks. What i am actually trying to do is execute a background process which executes some code for every Object in a list, and does it within a fixed thread pool. So, for example, i have 100 users in the list and i am executing code for each of them concurrently but no more than 5 at the same time.
Therefore i am using two service/task pairs: One service/task for executing on the whole list of users, this service uses a fixed thread pool as its executor and executes a series of second service/task pairs for every user in the list.

The code executes up to the moment when first "starting single service" is printed, the "single service started" message is not being printed at all. As far as i see the SingleService is started, but its createTask() is not being executed at all. Am i making some mistake here?
Well, I am trying to do the same thing, in different context... launch multiple services from a single main Service.
I've overridden all methods of Service, and this is my printout:
Service must only be used from the FX Application Thread {from onFailed() method}
Service does not run on FX thread, but can only be called from the FX thread.
Therefore, all Services and Tasks called within a Service or Task will not be executed.

The MyFTPFile object is associated with the cell's row, so, as the asker pointed out in his comment, it is retrievable via cell.getTableRow().getItem().
At first I thought this should be cell.getItem(), which returns the data value associated with the cell. However, most of the time, the cell data value will be a property of the backing item rather than the object itself (for example a filename field of a MyFTPFile object).
