I have developed a platform that allows members to consult books online but I face a problem. When I launch the reader IDM intercepts the file and proposes the download which cancels the reading. I would like a js script that could help me.

I am working on a Chrome extension running on Chrome OS.
The extension needs the enterprise.hardwarePlatform permission to be able to get hardware information about the device.
The question is: How can I test my extension?
After installing the extension manually, the API to get the hardware information will not work as it needs the extension to be forced-installed by the enterprise policy.
But how to force-install the extension if it is not published in the Chrome Web Store?
Google Workspace seems to allow to refer only to published extensions in the enterprise policy. But obviously I do not want to publish the extension under development. Also I didn't find a "Web Store for development" where I could upload the extension and then refer to it from the policy.
So how to do this?
I found this question:
https://support.google.com/chrome/a/thread/107510644/how-do-i-develop-a-chrome-extension-with-enterprise-permissions?hl=en-gb
However, did not find the answer in any of the provided links. All information seem to point to publishing on Chrome Web Store first. But then would it be impossible to manually test a feature like this before publishing?
Thank you for your answers in advance.
I have been trying to figure out the reason behind smartscreen and I have read from microsoft's documentation (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/what-is-smartscreen-and-how-can-it-help-protect-me-1c9a874a-6826-be5e-45b1-67fa445a74c8) that smartscreen will appear when a downloaded file is from an untrusted web (that is not in the trusted list of microsoft) or when a downloaded file contains malicious software that has been reported to microsoft. I found out that if I download an .exe that was send through skype app, the smartscreen doesnt prompt but it does prompt when I download the .exe from skype web. However, when I download it from both Whatsapp app and web, the smartscreen was sure to prompt. So, I'm actually wondering what is the reason behind this?
It basically flags all .exe files after checking the source (e.g. if source is Adobe, it lets it go). If the app has been sent through the Skype app, the system assumes the file would have been checked on the system that sent it and thus flags it safe.
I have created an App for google chrome which just opens a web page. I am new in the topic
of Apps. I was thinking if it is possible to execute some linux command by using an App
in google chrome. For instance, an App which can open a terminal or open a program
installed in my machine like Gimp, Kate, Libre Office ...
From the instructions in the web page of google I saw that the only actions for an App
are limited to open a web address but I dont know if it is possible to extend the capabilities
of the Apps,
Regards.
Aren't apps sandboxed into the Google Chrome Process to ensure they can't affect other processes and for other security reasons. If so, you won't be able to execute programs/commands or view the User's Files unless you use some workaround such as Google's Native Client.
Google has locked down capabilities to stop malicious Web Apps from executing code and bringing malware and exploits.
You can write a NPAPI Plugin or a custom URI scheme associated to Unix terminal.
I plan to build a Chrome Extension that allows users to navigate web pages via voice commands.
To do so, I plan to put my speech recognition program on a backend server that connects with clients via Chrome extension.
Is it possible? I know how to develop an extension, but would appreciate if you could show a way of receiving voice input.
You don't need to modify Chrome.
Until the HTML5 tag gets landed in Chrome, your only option right now is to use NPAPI and include the plugin into your Extension. For more information visit this page:

You would have to implement a JavaScript audio input API using C++ inside Chromium, being aware that you have to transfer data through the sandbox, then once exported you can use the new API in your extension.
A lot of groundwork has already been done on specifying the audio API, read the details over at W3C:
http://chromium.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/samples/audio/specification/specification.html
Which links to details of a special build of Chrome with some already built samples:

I want to upload the audio from user to server. How can i do it from browser itself. My main application is browser based. I am looking for browser and non browser based solution but It should be Open Source. That is why i put "without flash" in subject. With Java applet user will face problem in installing jre !! is there any hope that in near future browser will support such feature. Do we have any addon in firefox which can help in this regard.
What is the requirement for Open Source specifically relating to? There are open source/free software ways to produce flash content for the browser. You aren't tied to the Adobe Flash IDE.
Look into these products:
FlashDevelop
Adobe Flex SDK (Free download)
At the time of this question, there wasn't a way to do this. Today we can use html5 and the GetUserMedia function for the main browsers (safari is the exception) . There are many articles and examples on that subject.
One good example can be found here:
