I have chat bot, I build it with bot framework nodejs SDK I integrate this chat bot to whatsapp and I want to display some buttons in the whatsapp chat,
So is there any one found a solution for this problem pleas help me
Note: I try to send a hero card but I run to problem
Error: TwilioWhatsAppAdapter.parseActivity():
An activity text or attachment with contentUrl must be specified.
I don't know how bot framework attempts to send WhatsApp messages with buttons, but I doubt it fits with the way Twilio wants to send them.
Currently, to send a message with buttons, you need to register and use a template message. When you send the text of a message that matches one of your templates, then Twilio will deliver the entire template with buttons as well.
For the future, look out for the Twilio Content API which will streamline templates, buttons and other rich messages across platforms.
It looks like you are using the TwilioWhatsAppAdapter from the botbuilder-community-js repo.
Looking at the adapter's code, it doesn't appear to be configured to handle any card other than a 'signin' card (see here). If you don't mind doing a little leg work on this, I don't see why you couldn't fork this repo and build in functionality that supports a hero card similar to the signin implementation.
I imagine it would look something like this:
case 'application/vnd.microsoft.card.hero':
// eslint-disable-next-line no-case-declarations
const hero = attachment.content;
message.body = `${ hero.text }\n\n`;
message.body += (hero.buttons[0].title ? `*${ hero.buttons[0].title }*\n` : '');
message.body += hero.buttons[0].value;
break;
The above may need a little massaging but it wouldn't be far off from this. Then, you just need to build the library for use.

I'm trying to code a bot that is able to remove the embed of specific messages or the embed created from the links posted by specific users and bots present in the server.
For example, let's say I don't want to see the twitter embed when someone posts a tweet: my bot would automatically remove the twitter embed.
Other case, I don't want people to see the embed of the messages posted by another user or bot present in the server, my bot would then automatically remove the said embeds.
However, reading the API documentation, I didn't see any possibility to do so. Maybe I missed it or maybe there's a trick to do so. Or maybe it's not supported by the API yet.
So does anyone know how I could achieve that goal please?
PS: Yes, I know I could simply deactivate embeds in the server settings, but that's not the goal I want to achieve here. I want it to be specific to certains links/messages and users/bots.
Thanks
You can use the suppressEmbeds method of message.
client.on("message", message => {
if (message.author.bot) return false;
if (message.author.id !== "YourID") { // Example Condition
message.suppressEmbeds(true) // Removes all embeds from the message.
}
})
I have successfully hosted an instance of microsoft's Botframework web chat using directline on public domain, I want to make a chatbot in such a way that my customers can have their own channels completely separated from each other and I cannot find any kind of documentation anywhere, Kindly suggest me if this is possible and how?
I have written the complete code in Node.js and have very less idea about c#.
It seems that there is no such feature for uniform customized chat channel in bot framework. So we can leverage new builder.Message().address(address) to send messages to specific users from the official sample at https://github.com/Microsoft/BotBuilder-Samples/blob/master/Node/core-proactiveMessages/simpleSendMessage/index.js.
So I had a quick test which will save the users' addresses into an address list in server memory as a "customize channel", and trigger a key work to send message to these addresses in list as a broadcast in this "customize channel":
let channel_address = [];
bot.dialog('joinChannel',(session)=>{
channel_address.push(session.message.address);
}).triggerAction({
matches:/join/i
})
bot.dialog('broadcast',(session)=>{
channel_address.forEach((address)=>{
bot.send(
new builder.Message(session).address(address).text(session.message.text)
)
})
}).triggerAction({
matches:/^broadcast: .*/
})
Test Step:
Open two emulators connect to your local bot
in both emulators, type "join"
in either emulator, type text like broadcast: hi there
Hello i'm newbie and im hardly to understand this notification in service-worker, and because my knowledge isn't good yet then probably i will unable to explain my problem clearly.
so here's the code :
// triggered everytime, when a push notification is received.
self.addEventListener('push', function(event) {
console.info('Event: Push');
var title = 'New commit on Github Repo: RIL';
var body = {
'body': 'Click to see the latest commit',
'tag': 'pwa',
'icon': './images/48x48.png'
};
event.waitUntil(
self.registration.showNotification(title, body)
);
});
this is the code that trigger to POP the notification, what I do not understand is where the argument to accept/ receive the data ?
I've been searched a lot: https://auth0.com/blog/introduction-to-progressive-web-apps-push-notifications-part-3/ ,
https://developers.google.com/web/updates/2015/03/push-notifications-on-the-open-web
there's some new data JSON or from git-server or push api, but I still hardly to understand where's to accept the data.
sorry if you still do not understand what's my problem.
Here to make it simple what I want :
Let's say i make a button, and everytime i click the button it will value as 'True' and I want that 'True' value to pass into argument and trigger the push of notication in service-worker.
2nd questions: am I able to trigger notification with header or text in html ? since we can manipulate the text with DOM ?
am I able to trigger notification without GCM, or API cause I just want a simple notification in serivce-worker like above without passing much data.
If you give more advice or maybe notification without service-worker but real time , I am surely happy to read it but I hope Im able to understand.
There are basically two concepts involved that work well together but can be used independently. The first is the visible UI shown to a user that tells them information or prompts them for an action. The second is sending an event from a server to the browser without requiring the user to currently be active on the site. For full details I recommend reading Google's Web Push docs.
Before either of those scenarios you have to request permission from the user. Once permission is granted you can just create a notification. No server or service worker required.
If you want to send events from a server you will need a service worker and you will need to get a subscription for the user. Once you have a subscription you would send it to a server for when you want to send an event to that specific browser instance.
Once you receive a push event from a server you display the UI the same as in the first scenario except you have to do it from the service worker.
I'm creating a bot in slack using Microsoft's botframework and LUIS and in Node.js. Currently my bot will reply every time someone says something in the channel, however I want my bot to only reply when its name is mentioned in my slack channel. i.e. #my-bot do this
How would I approach this? Would I have to add slack api in order to do this?
One way I'm thinking is to create an entity to check for if #my-bot is mentioned, and if it is then reply and if not then don't. However, I feel there are better ways in doing this.
Thanks.
Edit:
dialog.onDefault(function (session) {
var msg = new builder.Message(session).entities();
console.log(msg);
console.log(session);
session.endDialog('Default Dialog');
});
I've looked through both msg and session and the Entities of both are empty.
I was able to use session.message.entities to use mentioned to know whenever the bot was mentioned.
I am developing a Bot using Microsoft Bot Framework, In that bot will respond with sending some images to the user. I configured it with slack and skype.
In slack Images are displaying but in Skype nothing coming.
To send pictures I used the following syntax
var replyMessage = "![ImgName](" + ImagesUrl + ")";
return message.CreateReplyMessage(replyMessage);
Reference dev.botfrmaework.com, The Text property is Markdown section clearly mention how to link an image to reply message.
If I reply with just link like below, skype able to understand and displaying links. But If I mention like above skype not able to understand.
var replyMessage = "[ImgName](" + ImagesUrl + ")";
return message.CreateReplyMessage(replyMessage);
Each channel has it's own peculiarities. Slack happens to be able to process images sent in-line as you've shown above. However, this will not work generically across all channels. To send images generically, add them as attachments:
replyMessage.Attachments.Add(new Attachment()
{
ContentUrl = "https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/a6/Bender_Rodriguez.png",
ContentType = "image/png"
});
Every channel has it's own issues when it comes to images and links.
For instance, the way you send links won't work on FB. it will simply show the links and text.
The same way, the only way to render images in skype as of now is to send it as an attachment and explicitly specify the image format.
Please look this link to see how each platform will react to the markdowns.
And also, for your purpose, I feel adaptive cards will work out more.
Try it out and let me know your comments.
