retrieving data from a Sharepoint Person column on PowerApp - sharepoint

i have a powerapp with a gallery showing users stored in a sharepoint list inside a Person column named User.
I have no problem in showing the users, for instance, in my gallery i can use ThisItem.User.DisplayName with no problem, but when i want to make a search filtered on some user data it doesnt work. If i try filtering using another column such as "city" it works, so it seems an error due to the type of the data that the Person column output.
this is the code i want to apply to my gallery
search(MyList,searchbar.text,User.DisplayName)
the error says "Name isn't valid. 'User' isn't recognized."
how to fix this? Thanks in advance

Infopath - Create a drop-down List from Active Directory "Department" field

Is it possible to create a Drop-down list in InfoPath which connects to Active Directory and fills the list with UNIQUE Department Values only (no repeating ones)
I need this for an InfoPath so when a user entering the data can pick one of the departments listed in the drop-down. Any help would be appreciated.
I've had a look at the people picker control, which works great for User names, but the department field is a separate field and has nothing to do with the user I pick, so I simply need a control which is populated by the unique Department codes in AD.
Any help would be appreciated.
You should really contact your administrator for this sort of information. You do not want a form to query every AD user to pull their department and get the unique values just to populate a drop down list. It is very possible to obtain the list of unique directories, however you should work with your administrator to populate this data to an XML web page or other similar solution and then connect your form to THAT data source through the form. The point is you are missing a step of obtaining the queried data.
With that said you can obtain the department of the user by querying the get user profile service to obtain the department name, elinating the need to even create a populated drop down list. See this article.

Error in adding list item to list in SharePoint 2010

One or more field types are not installed properly.
Go to the list settings page to delete these fields
I got the above error while adding item to list, I Don't have any lookup Column and I also deleted relationship list.
Kindly Help....!
Thanks in advance.
Seems you are adding the item by code. Just verify the column name spelled properly or not.
When ever Events are Handled.most of them used to give column name as it is there in list/library. But I recommend before providing the column make sure that column Name and its internal Name is same.
You can get Column internal Name by using SharePoint Manager Tool

SharePoint 2007 List column name with different display name

I'm very new to using SharePoint. I have created a custom list that I use as a linked table in Access. As the access database pre-existed, i need the column names in my SharePoint List to match those that are in the Access Database, otherwise all my Reports & Queries etc will not work.
Is there a way to have a separate display name for the columns in my SharePoint List.
For example, the column names are currently like "Innov_Desc", which isn't User friendly. When the users are adding "New Items", I need to display "Description" for example.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Derek
If you are trying to do this change from the the user interface (from settings), I'm afraid it's impossible. You will have to do this change in the code.
Please check the links below to get general idea of what is involve when naming columns:
Finding the internal name and display name for a list column
SharePoint Column/Field Display Names vs Internal Names
You can change the display name to something more user friendly via the UI after the column has been created. The internal name of the column will remain whatever it was at the point of creation.

Append Query From Access Into Linked SharePoint List with Lookup Fields in SP List

I am trying to append records in an MS Access table (I am using Access 2010, but can use 2007 if need be) into a linked SharePoint list.
There is an attachments field (when viewed from Access), but I am not concerned with appending these.
The SharePoint list has a few lookup fields, that in design view are of the Number format. Upsizing to SQL Server, I can confirm that they are numbers (and I assume the Id for the related SharePoint list object).
I copied the structure of the SharePoint list and pasted into a MS Access table, and then filled in a few sample records
I used the query wizard to select all of the fields of the Access table (minus the Access table's autonumbered ID and attachments), click "Append", and then selected the SharePoint list.
If I run this query, I get the error that X record(s) were not appended due to validation violation reasons, which is all of them. I've checked all field definitions and none are defined as required or have a validation constraint.
The only thing I can think of is that there is some issue with the Lookup fields, but each number Id I've checked is a valid Id.
I'm hoping for a MS Access solution, but if the only approach is to programmatically do it, could someone send me directions on how to get started with the SharePoint 3.0 SDK?
Thank you for your time.
Lookup columns are not number type even your parent items are of number type reason behind lookup column always attaches the item id of parent item.If you want to see the data in access kindly use the "export to Access" functionality available in datasheet view
I have linked to a SharePoint table, then appended directly to it from a query.
My issue is that this process takes a very long time to push up to SharePoint, then 2 times as long when first I need to delete the records currently in the list before appending.
Is there a better way to blow out and create the table while preserving the link since it is not an Access object?
Anyway I hope this may help you out some and get me some insight as well.
Regards.

How to change type of information for a Title column in SharePoint MOSS 2007 List?

I created a calendar in SharePoint MOSS 2007 that is connected to my Outlook. I added a custom column “Person” to this list and the type of information in this column is: Person or Group. In SharePoint I can hide Title column and in Calendar View show this Person field as Month View Title. So I can see on the calendar who is working that day. Problem is in Outlook. It seems like Outlook doesn’t know a thing about custom fields. In Outlook I can see only Title and few other fields. I could rename Title field to Person, but I can’t change type of information that it contains. By default it is text field and no way to change it to Person or Group.
If I could change those “default” column types, then I think my problem would be solved. I know it is possible. I created a custom list, but this list has also those “sticky” Title, Created By and Modified By columns that can’t be changed or removed. Maybe I have to create a custom list with some other program or code? Please help!
Thanks in advance!
The Title Column is a necessary evil.
In Outlook, Calendars (as of my tests) only show Title and Location.
One solution (be that javascript or .NET) is to, by the time the user clicks the "OK" button on the NewForm and EditForm, you copy the content in the Person or Group column to the end of the (Person Name) location field, so it will show up as:
Title; Location (Person)
.. in your monthly view.
