When I have multiply connect custom configurations but only one is Active
the 'auto publish' for events is not working.
I can publish the events only manually by selecting the Active one
Connect configuration must be Active in order to work and be used to publish events.
If it's not active - it's like it's not there.

As part of our production environment we have several App Services running inside of Azure. I would like to implement notifications to be sent to a specific email address upon file or configuration changes within those App Services. I have tried enabling Application Changes for the service but it does not appear to provide the capability to set up alerts on the changes,
I have also tried enabling App Service alerts but it does not appear that any of the test configuration changes that I have made were captured by the signal "Apply Web App Configuration".
The last thing that I tried was to enable Diagnostic Settings to capture AppServicePlatformLogs and AppServiceFileAuditLogs and stream them to an Event Hub, however, I cannot determine how to set up the email notification from the hub for the events.
I am hoping that there may be an easier way to set this up and was hoping that someone may have some pointers or resources that I can follow.
I was able to accomplish this under "Monitoring" -> "Alerts". A more detailed walkthrough can be found here https://perituza.com/blog/azure-app-service-monitoring-and-alerts/. The key was selecting "Activity Log - Administrative" as the Monitor Service in the Condition.
I just recently started to use Azure Data Studio to replace SSMS and VS Code. So far it is working great. I do have one "issue" I was wondering if anyone else encounters. I run the application with my Azure AD Admin. Under Connections I see all of my subscriptions and the underlying databases:
When I try to expand a server, I get an error that it is trying to connect with a SQL account:
It then brings up the connection details where it is set to use SQL Authentication:
If I change the Authentication type to Azure Active Directory - Universal with MFA support, and click connect it does without issue.
My question is, is there a way to change what the server connection uses as a default so I don't have to try to expand, fail, change auth type, and then connect? It is nice not having to manually create all of the connections to all of our subscriptions and sql servers and just have them load there and open them.
I searched all the settings of Azure data studio, but did not find the option to change the default authentication type of login Azure SQL.

You can click the power plug icon in the right and then choose Authentication type to login to the server.

However, I'm searching for ways to generate new connection setting variables as well as new bindings at runtime.
The use case would be, where we need to onboard users without manually interacting with the Azure function app configuration.

I was able to modify the variable temporarily, but it appears that it loses the changes as soon as the run gets terminated (also, it didn't work when I published the app on Azure).
Is there way to accomplish this during runtime?
My set up is to have two azure functions:
1. dedicated to modifying app settings if change is detected in CosmosDB where new user information is added.
2. dedicated sending messages, but generating bindings based on app configurations added by azure function 1.
My initial thoughts were to store the whole app settings in cosmosDB and generate appsettings based on that document at every onetime, but I'm pretty sure there is better ways to do this.
also, it looks like my connection strings in local.settings.json don't get reflected when I actually publish them. what am I missing?

I have provisioned the gateway onto the server where the sql server is hosted but getting this error.
Also I am using the Copy Preview feature to get this working.
I may be wrong here, but it looks like an authentication issue. Have you tried connecting to the server from the gateway? Open the Microsoft Integration Runtime Configuration Manager, go to Diagnostics and fill every field, then click test. If everything is correct, a green check should appear. You are trying to impersonate a user, so choose Windows instead of Basic.
Try with it until you get the green check, then make sure that the linked service you are using has the same info you used and it should work.
You can also try creating a database user and give it permissions to make the query you want, then changing the linked service to use the database user instead of the windows user.
I'm trying to make a service to more easily configure configuration values on Azure applications. Right now, if I want to change a setting that it the same over 7 different environments, I have to change it in 7 different .cscfg files.
My thought is I can create a webservice, that the application will query for its configuration values. The webservice will look in a storage place, like Azure Tables, and return the correct configuration values.
I've been able to integrate this into a deployment script pretty easily (package the app, get the settings, change the cscfg file, deploy). The problem with that is every time you want to change a setting, you have to redeploy.
Finally the question - Is there a way I can retrieve the configuration settings after the application starts, on role start? It would of course need a base set of settings for the app to start. Retrieving the settings from the web service on application start would be good. Any way that I don't have to redeploy the application and that it will retrieve them automatically will work.

Just use the .cscfg for the minimum set (common to all environment) of configurable settings. The use your web services for rest of the configurations. And don't modify your .cscfg. Just have a settings provider that retrieves settings from web service (via polling or message signalling - pub/sub model). And have a reinitialize settings procedure in place for this settings provider and all the services/components that rely on configurable settings.
