Is there an extension in Visual studio code to get actually installed versions of packages from package.json? - node.js

In WebStorm there's a great way to know which version of a package actually installed in your node_modules, by ctrl+hovering on the package name in package.json. Is there an extension with a similar funtionality in VS code? Tried this one https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=ldd-vs-code.better-package-json
But it seems abandoned

The VersionLens extension can do this.
To get it to automatically show the versions like WebStorm:
Install the extension.
In the extension list, click the gear and choose Extension settings.
Scroll to the bottom and check the box for Show on startup.
Then restart VSCode. It won't show the versions instantly because it has to analyze the dependencies, but they will show up after awhile.

Where is the Android Support Library SDK in Android Studio 2.1?

I'm following a tutorial on setting up Android Studio and the current version that I'm using (2.1.2) is different than what they are using. I'm in the stand alone SDK manager and it's not in the listed options. Below is a screenshot if that helps.
1.Open Project Structure (Press F4 on your project).
2.Select Modules on the left pane.
3.Choose your project and you will see Dependencies TAB above the third Column.
4.Click on the plus sign in the bottom. Then a tree-based directory chooser dialog will pop up, navigate to your folder containing
android-support-v4.jar, press OK.
5.Press OK.
(a progress bar will appear, and voila it should download what you need)
By the way, you should really install the latest android-sdk update. From your screenshot, it doesn't look like you have yet.

Android Studio Setup Wizard Stuck on Downloading Components

So far, I've run into a brick wall when trying to open Android Studio. Installation seems to run fine, but when I open the program for the first time, I am greeted with the setup wizard which informs me that it will be downloading components.
The first line in the dialog box tells me that the sdk has been installed in a specific location, which it then lists.
At the bottom, there are greyed-out navigation buttons for 'Back' 'Next' and 'Finish'. The 'Cancel' button is active, but when I click it, nothing happens.
There is no button for 'Show Details' to reveal what is going on behind the scenes.
Basically, this screen does not advance. I have tried on multiple different internet connections. I am not using a proxy.
When I hit cancel, the button becomes greyed-out, and nothing happens. The only way to exit the screen is to force close it in Task Manager.
I have tried running as an administrator.
I am currently running Windows 8.1.
Any ideas what is wrong?
You can download the latest components manually.
Go to C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Android\sdk
Open SDK Manager.exe
Update the packages.
Start Android Studio.
Solution for now was to use an older stable version. 1.0.2 worked fine.
Uninstall Android Studio and clean all the junk files, then reinstall it should fix that!
First, Run "Control Panel" ⇒ "Programs and Features" ⇒ Uninstall "Android Studio"
Then make sure to delete any of these files if exist:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Android\Sdk (this directory contains the SDK).
C:\Users\username\.android
C:\Users\username\.AndroidStudioX.X
C:\Users\username\.gradle
C:\Users\username\AndroidStudioProjects (these are the Android projects written by you)
I deleted the folder /Users/USER_NAME/Library/Android/sdk and it worked.

Unable to open portable projects in vs2013

I have a several (c#) solutions (originally created with VS2012) that include portable libraries that I have trouble opening with VS2013. Some of them fail to open with
Unsupported This version of Visual Studio is unable to open the
following projects. The project types may not be installed or this
version of Visual Studio may not support them.
The problem only happens on my home environment. At work or on other setups everything works as expected.
To get it to work on my home environment, I have to right-click on the projects and choose "Edit Project.csproj ..." from the context menu for any project that was not loaded correctly. If all projects are open as text files in VS, I close the solution and reopen it again. Now, the projects failed to open, since VS is unable to open a project in two different modes (as a project vs as a text file). If you choose now "reload" from the context menu, the project loads correctly.
I can now close the solutions, and if I am lucky, eveything works after I reopen it again.
After some time, some of the projects fail to load. Then, I try to do the edit/reload trick again, but when I reload the solution, other portable projects are doomed. So, I have no choice but to start over (deleting the suo file takes me back to square-one, all portable projects are unable to load).
Any idea what I have screwed up with my system? I have installed all service packs and extensions. I also have the newest resharper version installed.
Update:
Not sure if it is related but I just got the following compiler warning for one of the incompatible projects
Warning 1 The element 'PropertyGroup' in namespace
'http://schemas.microsoft.com/developer/msbuild/2003' has invalid child element
'MinimumVisualStudioVersion' in namespace
'http://schemas.microsoft.com/developer/msbuild/2003'. List of possible elements
expected: 'Property, .... Project.csproj 1
Update 2:
VS Output window shows The application for the project is not installed. for all those projects that cannot be loaded. "Repairing" VS did not help, I will try to do a clean reinstall now.

Add options to 'Add...' in Visual Studio 2012 Folder

I accidentally did a Windows 8 Refresh (DON'T EVER DO THAT!) and now after re-installing VS2012 I don't have as many options when I am adding new files.
Specifically when I right-clicked a folder before it gave me four options - JavaScript File, TypeScript file, HTML File, and something else. Anyone have some direction on what plug-in or tool for VS2012 made this available?
This appeared to be fixed after updating to the latest update of VS2012 and installing Web Essentials.
