IIS10 500 error external but internal it works perfectly - iis

I am getting a 500 error when I view my site externally, but when I use host file entry and reference the website on the box itself, the site works perfectly.
How do you debug an issue like this?

IIS 7.5 HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error. Live website is functioning but has a /test url unknown to our developers which gives error 500.19

I am an intern in an interactive media company, my employers have many websites they host for small businesses. When any of the websites URL's is accessed on the web it works great, altough when you place "/test" behind the url and enter it comes up with the 500.19 internal server error, stating the configuration file path is invalid. While it should just be giving the 404 error.
We did not create the /test site. We also have URL rewrite installed and functioning but we really need to know what is causing this error. As I said it needs to give a 404 error and than perhaps we can have it rewrite this URL.
If anyone has any idea what is going on here please help. Searching the web has yielded zero results. Below I will paste the full error report.

IIS 404 Error even when file exists?

I have been working with IIS 7 for a while and it has worked fine until it just suddenly started throwing 404 errors for my multiple websites even though they actually exist. All of the configurations seems fine (path, default document) but not a single file, no matter the format or location will be loaded.
Another strange thing is that everything works when I try to access the websites via localhost or 127.0.0.1 but not through my external IP.
Does anyone know why this could happen and how I can fix it?
Edit:
It appears this 404 page is not the built in IIS error page. It is associated with nginx but I'm not sure where the file is located on my server or why my pages are being intercepted.
It turns at the server was hijacked by Morfeus F***ing Scanner, which I was not aware was even a thing until this happened. It's activity showed up in the server access logs. I basically had to reset the entire server. It was quite a chore.

iis error 500.19 ,the related configuration data for the page is invalid

Kindly reply as early as possible because im in a precaurious situation now

IIS 7 cannot display http://localhost

I am having a torrid time trying to figure out why I cannot display http://localhost in the web browser.
I keep getting the 404 not found error. I tried looking in the wwwroot folder and added the http://localhost/iisstart.html still nothing happened.
There is a web service and a web application added to the default web site and I am not sure if this has something to do with this but all this worked fine previously.

problem using a custom 404 page in IIS

I have a web site with a child directory set up as an application. I set up the application to use a custom 404 page. When I navigate to the url and put in a non existent page I get the following error message. Any other asp page in the application works fine. There isn't even any script in the 404 page... just plain html so I'm not sure what is causing this. I've tried creating an application pool specifically for this application but that didn't help. Thanks.
