Jupyter lab moves back to subfolder automatically after moving up a folder - jupyter-lab

When I click on the folder icon to move up a folder in jupyter lab, after a few seconds it changes to the folder and then almost immediately moves back. Sometimes if I do this several times, it will eventually move up a folder and stay there. This has made jupyter lab unusable for me.
I've tried clicking slowly to make sure I'm not double clicking. I've also uninstalled jupyter and reinstalled it, but the issue persists. I don't have any extensions installed but I did use the table of contents extension in the past. I also tried this on a different machine using a different browser (Firefox vs Chrome on my main computer), but I have the same issue on both machines.
My start folder is a network drive, but I've always used it that way and the problem only started in the past few months. Has anyone else encountered this issue and know of a fix?
I'm not using Anaconda, if that's relevant.

node.js setup wizard ended prematurely the moment i ran the installer

I have downloaded node.js from https://nodejs.org/.
Then I ran the installer, the moment I did that this popped out
No thing else shows up, the installer is in my downloads folder inside the C drive, there is over 25 GB empty space left so I am sure the issue is not from there (I have emptied my downloads folder from images and videos to make sure)
I have looked many solutions online but my case is a bit different. Many solutions suggested changing the path in the installing process, I can't use this solution as the installation app (or whatever it is called) isn't showing up. Thanks in advance!!
I have found a solution, I kept searching and looking up some other solutions related to windows and TEMP
So I found this Solution
At first it didn't work for me cause I have been doing it to the Temp folder.
I then noticed the TMP folder below it and tried the solution on it and it worked!!

my pyinstaller executable is not opening on other computers besides mine

The last few days, I created a site, using wix, to use as a portfolio. I left all my projects there. My sister, helping me try It, downloaded one of them, but she could not open it
The first problem was solved pretty fast. My computer uses linux, and her's uses Windows, so I just had to use a windows computer to run pyinstaller on my project. It worked
Now, I managed to create the windows executable. I tested on my windows computer, and it worked. However, my computer HAS python, while her's dont. I think the error might be my venv (virtual environment). Maybe the python interpreter she is supposed to use to run the program is in the wrong directory?
Image of what you get, after downloading my project "FastGrid":
https://i.stack.imgur.com/PS77Y.png
(sorry for using external images, It's the only way I can make a good description the situation)
The only difference between her directory and mine is that her python files have a notepad icon. However, the extension is ".py", so I don't see how that is a problem. Unless somehow her pc is opening that with notepad, without using the python interpreter, and not executing the code properly.
Also, when I tried on my computer, my antivirus thought the file was a virus, and said It would take 80 minutos to verify It. I trusted the file and tried to open It, only to get a "You might not have permission to open the file" error. I refreshed the directory and It opened sucessfullt. The same happened to my sister (without the opening part, of course). She had this error, but later, when I tried again, It simply didn't run. No errors.
Again, I think the directory "venv" may be in the wrong spot, and that's why she can't open the executable, since the project may not be able to read the files. But, if that's the case, I don't know how I should modify that.
Also, here is my site, if you think that can be helpful. You can find my projects in the "blog" part
https://lvalencacomputacao.wixsite.com/website
Thanks in advance. If I wasn't clear, please, feel free to ask your doubts on comments. I'll do my best to make the post better
Edit: The image is the project for windows, but opened in ubuntu, that's why there is a ".exe" there.
does all of your computer have python, it could probably beacuse you are using a virtual enviorment, and need to activate it before entering the the exe. the command : .\venv\Scripts\activate to activate te asets in your python project, what was the difrent from your sister computer and all of the computer, i could help you
Everyone, the problem is solved. My sister's pc is probably the one at fault, here, since the program worked in every computer I tried besides her's.
Thanks

Add-in Installed from Network Reverts to Local Path? (Excel 2016)

I am attempting to deploy a custom MS Excel add-in across our network environment following this article: https://www.excelguru.ca/content.php?152-Deploying-Add-ins-in-a-Network-Environment.
One users computer is causing trouble for me. I install as directed, specifically when asked, I say "NO" to copying the file to the local user's folder. Initially the add-in appears to have installed and work properly. However, upon restarting Excel, I find that in fact, Excel gives the error message stating the add-in is missing and has a file path to the local users folder. I have tried multiple times to the same outcome.
On other users PC's (win7 and win10 boxes) the file installs fine from the network and remains after a restart of Excel. So far, the issue appears to be isolated to one user's PC. He is on windows 10 and excel 2016.
Has anyone encountered this? To me seems like a bug maybe?
I've seen that happen if the user initially selects to copy it locally, then removes it, and then tries to add the network copy. The only fix is to edit the registry to remove the local reference, and then add the network copy again.
It's important for the end users to not copy the file locally the first time, or you end up in this mess.
Search their registry for the filename of the add-in and delete it.

Exec format error: ./idea.sh after linux crash during intellij update

Intellij was updating and it stated the update was finished, prompting me to choose wether to get config from past installation or somewhere else. As I was about to click ok for the previous installation option, my whole system froze(kubuntu). The song I was listening to kept repeating the same second of music through the headphones. Maybe it was an overheat issue on my laptop? Anyway, had to hard reset it.
Now I can't open intellij. The icon is blank, clicking on it shows loading for a while, but then never does anything. Running the idea.sh from terminal produces the aforementioned error.
What's the best course of action here, to save all my configurations and settings before reinstalling? Or is there a way to fix this without reinstall?
Make a clean installation from from the .tar.gz file available at the official downloads page.
Make sure to unpack into the empty directory (not on top of the previous version).
Check if you have the config folder for the new version already created. If it's present, remove it. This will make IntelliJ IDEA prompt you to import the settings from the previous version (make sure not to delete the config folder from the previous version you will be importing from).

Sync Android Studio projects across multiple workstations

I want to be able to work across multiple workstations synchronously jumping from one to the other without having to worry about committing.
I have windows personal and work desktop and a Mac OSX laptop. At the moment, I point my project to a cloud directory and have the local install of Android Studio pointing to a gradle offline cache in another cloud directory. This keeps failing as it tells me that the path to gradle is invalid. Which I understand because gradle is referenced in different locations on different machine (considering the differing file management system in MACOSX and Windows7).
Edit: When I try to open the project, it brings up the "Import Project from Gradle" screen. To which it has the option for me to select "Use local gradle distribution" and select the Gradle home directory. I pointed it to the cache directory, and it tells me:
Cannot Save Settings
Gradle location is incorrect.
Location:C:/Users/Username/.gradle
All my research (include these answers here, and here) suggest that VCS is the way to go. However, I don't see this as a solution to my problem. I'm not looking to version control, I'm looking to transition seamlessly across workstations. Of course I will still use Version Control System for the purpose of saving a working version of my code, or sharing it with other developers, but there has to be a better way when I simply just want to keep all workstations synced.
I come from web development, and I synchronise local environment on AMPPS across multiple computers without any issue. This meant I can transition from my personal desktop, laptop, and work desktop instantly. It frustrates me if I have to remember to commit every time I move around. If I have to do this 20 times a day, and it takes about a minute to do this, that's 20 minutes that could have been spent writing a couple of functions. And what if I forget to commit, then I get to work, or home, that would be a day wasted because I won't actually have the current up to date code...
So the question remains, is there a way to instantly synchronise Android Studio projects? How do I keep all my code base (ie gradle) in sync?
Ok thanks to the comments above which pointed me in the right direction.
Android Studio create some local files that are specific to the machine that you are on. Following on this principle, to sync the "source" files (files that are specific to your application only), you must ignore all these local files. This is similar to what you would store on github. I followed the answer for this question to apply the ignore rules.
Having ignored all the "local files", when I create a new project, the source files are synchronised across all my workstations. In order to establish a local version, I need to "import" the project first. Once it has been imported, "local files" will be created for that particular machine. From then on, I can "open" the project locally.
To summarise:
Set your sync to ignore files as per .gitignore or refer to this question.
Create a project on one of your workstation and save it in the cloud.
When you are ready to work on the project for the first time on another workstation, "import" the project.
Once the project has been imported, all local files should have been created.
From then on, use the "open" option to continue working on the project.
I hope this helps somebody else, saving hours on googling.
