I am running into some issues when attempting to use documentUrlPatterns with my web extension, on Safari, when creating context menu items.
Example:
browser.contextMenus.create({id: "12354", title: "Test01",documentUrlPatterns:["https://www.linkedin.com/feed/"]});
When using documentUrlPatterns on any website with an explicit pathname (as shown above), the context menu item does not get created for matching document urls.
With the above code I would expect to see a context menu item on https://www.linkedin.com/feed/ with the title Test01, but nothing appears. As mentioned, it seems any explicit path name, such as /feed/ or /someother/page/ on any website presents this issue.
My understanding of how matching works makes me think that explicit path names are valid in patterns, but perhaps I am missing something.
If I drop the last trailing slash /, the context menu item seems to be created as expected.
Is my expected outcome valid or is there something unique about the way documentUrlPatterns works that I am missing?
The above code seems to work as intended in Chrome and Firefox. I imagine this could be an Apple Safari related bug but before reporting it, I was curious if there's something I am missing.

Im trying to modify search parameter in Application Layout Search, to accept dot(.) as literal part of search item for filtering a view..
for example...
"Mr. Smith" will not show up in the view, but
"Mr.Smith" will..
digging deeper with google debugger, I found the function _xspAppSearchSubmit where I can simply change the code encodeURIComponent(val) into encodeURIComponent(val.replace(/s+\.s+/g,'')
which worked when i tested on console. The s+ to remove spaces, \. to keep the dot as literal.
BUT somehow, I cannot find this function in the ApplicationLayout1 custom control, and listed only one event - onItemClick.
Is it possible to add an "onChange" event?
There's an option and optionParam property there but not sure how to apply this.
Im a newbie with xpage and this control, can someone help me work around this, I've checked other sites about this but doesn't explain this kind of issue. I've also checked encodeURIComponent functionality, but it still interprets dot as command. I also learned this dot works like * wildcard.
the Application Layout is ccBaseUI from "One UI", and setup Basic Application Configuration.

Is there a way to set the zoom level in google docs by using a querystring parameter?
eg- https://docs.google.com/a/getsatisfaction.com/document/d/q3ljkasdlfgkjsdflgkj/edit?zoom=fit
I know there's other querystring parameters you can set, like how "render mode" can be set with the rm parameter (eg - rm=demo). I also found this related SO question, which doesn't mention zoom options.
I have been searching for a while now and have not found any concrete way to manipulate the user's view setting of a document when it's embedded into a webpage via iframe. The only options I have found for getting a doc to adjust within the given frame are as follows:
/pub? - This removes any toolbar display and displays a rough view of the doc. If you use tabs or spaces to line things up, they will not look pretty with this option. I have tried adding the "rm=full" and/or "ui=2" parameters (and other combinations) but those did not do anything.
/preview? - This also removes any ui elements and just straight-up shows the doc. This one doesn't work for me because I need users to be able to print the doc.
I even thought that perhaps the view setting was determined in the doc itself, but anything I tried in that direction (setting to Fit, looking in doc settings, etc) produced no results. So the parameters I am using now are:
/edit?usp=viewing&chrome=false&rm=demo (still overflows in the iframe in Firefox & Chrome)
I hope this info helps anyone else at least a little bit. (I would have provided all this as a comment but I needed more points in order to do that.) It's disappointing that one of the most obvious and relied-upon Docs options cannot be adjusted through parameters.
Xpage (listPostits.xsp) has a "View" container control, where one of the column is set "show values in this column as links".
Now, here comes "Strange behaviour".
When i work with this application on my own (developer) PC (Win XP, Chrome or IE), the Domino generate the link, which can't be really processed:
/servername/db/postit/postit.nsf/listPostits.xsp/onePostit.xsp?documentId=many_numbers&action=editDocument
Namely, the Bold-marked portion shouldn't be there ! This portion is the name of the XPage, where the View control is in.
When i work with the application from other PC (Mac, Firefox) then i get the correct link (the same as above but without the XPage name inbetween):
/servername/db/postit/postit.nsf/onePostit.xsp?documentId=many_numbers&action=editDocument
update: let us leave for the moment the differencies in generated links between two machines. The first question is - why the extra portion is inserted into automatically generated link?
After playing around i think i might have found the reason for this strange behaviour. Namely, the "Substitution" Rules on the server side. One of them is to substitute "*/postit/all" with "/db/postit/postit.nsf/listPostits.xsp"
If i switch it off, then the Links are generated properly. Still, it's pretty strange to me that these settings influence the way Domino generates the links. I thought it works on the fly with them and those settings have nothing to do with the way how Links are generated inside the application.
So, the help now is needed regarding Web Site Rule Topic, but for that, i guess, i have to create another topic. But in case somebody has some good Info on this, please share it with me. I'm a bit confused at the moment :)
Final Update: Spent some more hours of testing and the results confirmed the initial idea.
If i open the page with the standart URL, i.e.
http://servername/db/postit/postit.nsf/listPostits.xsp then everything is fine, links are generated properly. When i however open the same page with short URL http://servername/postit/all , then server adds the substitute URL (db/postit/postit.nsf/listPostits.xsp) to every single link he generates automatically to be used as the link to open/edit the underlying document.
Is it bug or feature ? Don't know.
As a workaround (because i want to keep simple URL's for the application) i have to manually generate links.
Whenever I save or create a node of a certain user-defined type, I am back in the edit window instead of switching to the first tab labeled view. All my fields (body, title etc. are as they were and no message appears, neither directly on the page nor in the watchdog database log. The validation is working, though, because I see those 'required' messages as soon as I try to save without Title for example.
The strange thing is that when I create a new content type, or use the predefined story and page types, I can edit and create nodes. In the latter case, Drupal answers with an 302 redirect, whereas with the proplematic content types, only a 200 HTTP status is returned.
The issue doesn't seem to be related to either JavaScript (on or off, no difference), Browser (tried Chrome and Firefox) or WYSIWYG (used input formats with and without).
I'm using Drupal 6.22 and the CCK. I have about 7 content types, some of them with fields. I am not using Rules, but a multitude of modules, all of which are up-to-date. I will post a list if this issue can't be solved otherwise.
I have spend the last hours trying to figure this out, both by looking at my installation (settings, database) and by searching Google & Co.
Any ideas?
The situation appeared because Drupal translated both the Upload and the Save button to one word, Speichern. The FileField issue tracker contains the corresponding thread: http://drupal.org/node/684426
The ImageField and Locale modules, along with a language such as German or Finnish were partly responsible for the trouble.
I'm trying to get rid of the error pop-up window that appears in IE saying "page contains both secure and non-secure items". I have made sure all the links are pointing to https:// rather than http://. I have also looked at the fiddler and firebug logs to see that all the requests are being made to https:// links only.
Here's a similar question asked on SO : IE - "This page contains both secure and non-secure items"
The guy whose answer was accepted hit right on target. I wish I knew how he debugged to narrow down to that solution.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
You don't need to actually load a resource in order to trigger the warning, a reference is all it takes. The <object> used to load a Flash applet is enough (if you reference the HTTP URI for the Flash Plugin).
The easiest thing to do is to open up the source and search for 'http:' with your editor. If that doesn't turn up anything, do the same with the output of document.getElementsByTagName('html')[[0].innerHTML.
You could either do a top-down or bottom-up approach to try to track down the issue. Top-down is where you'd start commenting out stuff until it goes away while in the bottom-up case you strip out everything and then slowly start adding back in things like Flash, Javascript, and CSS as it may be some include or function that is the culprit.
