I'm trying to install HAXM so I can get Android Studio to work but I always get the same error "The system requirements are not satisfied"
This is the report I get after trying to install it, it only says that VMX is not enabled. So I went into BIOS and enabled these two settings.
After that when I run HAXM installer I get same error but diferent report.
Now it looks like VMX and EPT are not suported, and Hyper-V is enabled but it is disabled in Windows Features. I tryed looking thru other threds but I cound find anything. My procesor is i5-5300U and on Intel site it says everything is supported.
If you are using hp device, then you can restart your PC and while its booting, repeatedly press the esc key until a startup menu appears.
Press F10
Navigate to system configuration
Select Virtualization Technology
press enter
Select Enabled and press enter
Press F10 key and select yes to save

ENABLE VT technology in BIOS
Disable Hyper-V in the "Window features" (entire category)
Reboot your PC.

I'm a new Android Studio user, but I've already done something in the last few days.
I have only a problem with the emulator. I tried to run my code with a normal Virtual Device, but every time I always got the same error:
Emulator: emulator: ERROR: x86 emulation currently requires hardware acceleration!
Emulator: Process finished with exit code 1
I tried to find a solution in the internet, and I found that the problem was my computer (it is an AMD) and I had to download the "armeabi" version when I created a new virtual device.
It worked (I have no more errors), but my emulator is always black and I cannot see anything. I was forced to use Debug USB on my personal phone, to plug in and use it (and it works) but I'd like to solve the problem with the Android Studio emulator. My Android Studio version is 3.3.1, the latest.
Obviously when I have a preview clicking on the file "activity_main.xml" I can see the right output.
Normally I use Nexus 5 and I've tried with Marshmallow and Nougat.
Increase your VM Heap & try it again.
Tools -> Android -> AVD Manager.
Select a virtual device and click on its pencil icon (edit)
Click on Show Advanced Settings.
Under "Memory and Storage" change "VM Heap"
If above is not helpful, Please Check "Wipe user data" in the Launch Option
Go to Android Virtual Device Manager->Select your device->Start->Check "Wipe user data"->Launch
make sure that Intel x86 Emulator Accelerator is active

There are Two possibilities :
Sometimes your Antivirus may block the Virtualization settings.
Disable your Antivirus and Try installing HAXM
Disable Hyper-V :
Control Panel -> "Programs" -> "Turn Windows features on or off"
(under "Programs and Features") and locate "Hyper-V", uncheck, reboot.
Whenever I try to create a virtual device in Android Studio it always returns this error:
Intel HAXM is required to run this AVD.Enable VT-x in your BIOS security settings.
I have installed haxm 6.1.2 and it's not working. My computer is with Intel Core i5-2450m CPU. From Intel's website, it shows that it supports virtualization. But I have not been able to figure out how to enable the virtualization.
I think the virtualization isn't enabled in your BIOS settings.
Open boot menu by pressing F2 just before your system starts. Go to System Security. Make sure that VIRTUAL TECHNOLOGY VTX is checked, then hit F10 to save.

I downloaded and installed Android Studio but I am not able to install Intel-HAXM (hardware-acceleration for the emulator) because I am unable to turn on virtualization.
I downloaded Speccy and it says virtualization is disabled.
I got into BIOS using F2 on startup and it says Intel VT-x is disabled but there is no option to enable it.
When I run Android Studio I get an error saying I need Intel-HAXM installed. When I try to install intel-HAXM (running as admin) I get an error saying "This computer does not support Intel virtualization technology. HAXM can not be installed".
My laptop is a Samsung NP355V5C running a recent update to Windows 8.1 Basic. I do not have Hyper-V as that is only available for higher levels of Windows 8.1
Also I don't believe I'm qualified to hack my BIOS. Please help me find a way to enable virtualization or to use Android Studio for development without using Intel-HAXM.

See if there is a BIOS update from Samsung. It is possible, though somewhat unlikely, that they have added the ability to toggle Intel virtualization extensions in a BIOS update.
Outside of that, you would need to buy a new computer.

Use the ARM emulator images instead of x86 emulator images. These do not require HAXM. However, they run a lot slower than their x86 counterparts.
Here is a screenshot of the AVD Manager from Android Studio:
The "ABI" column indicates what CPU architecture that AVD will use. Those that are listed as armeabi-v7a are ARM images, and they will work on your notebook without HAXM.
However, as I mentioned, they will be very slow, particularly for higher-resolution screens. I suggest using some fairly low-resolution screens (e.g., Nexus S) to get by.

I'm having difficulties trying to install HAXM for my emulator in Android Studio. I have an hp2000 notebook; I updated Windows 8.1 to Windows 8.1 Pro to activate the Hyper-V feature and I even went to system settings to enable virtualization, but am still getting "This computer does not support Intel virtualization (VT-x). HAXM cannot be installed. Please refer to the Intel HAXM documentation for more information."
My Android Studio SDK manager is showing that it's installed.
This procedure worked perfectly for me. Hope this helps.
F10 (Computer Set Up) - BIOS - Security -System Security -Enter - Virtual Technology (VTX)-Enable-Fileď Save and Exit
Goto sdk Folder: F:\Android\sdk\extras\intel\Hardware_Accelerated_Execution_Manager
Run intelhaxm-android.exe
You should be seeing a dialog box which quotes, "Completed Intel Hardware Accelerated Execution Manager Set Up Wizard. Click the Finish Button to exit the wizard"
Once this works, open android studio, and try running the emulator. You should be seeing "HAX is working and emulator runs in fast virt mode"
After enabling the virtulization in-bios do hard restarting via power button solved my problem:). I read in intel blog to do so. So try this option it may help:)
You must have an Intel processor that supports virutalization and ND bit on. You can check http://ark.intel.com to tell.
to set ND bit you can use bcdedit /set nx AlwaysOn
to set virtualization properly once enabled in BIOS you can type
bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off

well, i turned off hyper-v on optional windows components (saim's suggestion). enabled virt in bios. then i went to find the haxm reinstall, and only found this file, C:\Users\ich\AppData\Local\Temp\intel\HAXM\1.1.1\silent\hax64.msi (i have a 64 bit box), ran it, and android studio 1.5.1 is happy. windows 10. hope that helps.
You can enable Intel Virtualization Technology from BIOS or if you dont have installed Emulator Acceleator(HAXM) you should install.
Turn off your PC and turn it back on, then instantly hit F10 or the ESC button (whichever works for you) - it will enter you into the BIOS
Use the arrow keys to enter into System Security
Ensure VIRTUAL TECHNOLOGY VTX is checked, then hit F10 to save, and reboot your computer
Now press the Windows key on your keyboard and just type Hyper-V; then click on the top appearing result
Uncheck Hyper-V from there
Now go to the path where you have saved your sdk folder - by default it is saved in C:\
Go to C:\Android\sdk\extras\intel\ and run Hardware_Accelerated_Execution_Manager, then run intelhaxm-android.exe

Open Android Studio again, run your app, and if it doesn't show your virtual devices then click on the small refresh button on the bottom right.
I was having a similar problem. It worked out that I hadn't got the HAXM-Installer installed on my PC.
To do this go to: Tools -> Android -> SDK Manager -> SDK Tools (Tab) -> Check the Intel x86 Emulator Accelerator (HAXM installer) option then click apply (As shown in the image below).
