What is the equivalent of the below code in Jest.

There's no equivalent because it doesn't have much uses. Jest is focused on modular JavaScript and generates auto-mocks (stubs) with jest.mock and jest.createMockFromModule.
The problem with auto-mocks is that they result in unspecified set of functions that behave differently from original ones and can make the code that uses them to work incorrectly or silently fail.
A mock with no implementation can be defined as:

Most times some implementation is expected:
let mockHeroService = { getHeros: jest.fn().mockReturnValue(...), ... };

How to mock electron when running jest with #kayahr/jest-electron-runner

Setup
I want to unit test my electron app with jest. For this I have the following setup:
I use jest and use #kayahr/jest-electron-runner to run it with electron instead of node. Additionally, since it is a typescript project, I use ts-jest.
My jest.config.js looks like this:

Mocking electron does not work. In contrast to other modules like fs-extra where jest.mock() behaves as expected.
I don't understand the behavior happening here:
Importing "electron" via import in the file containing the tests (not the file to be tested!) does not work (other modules work well), but require("electron") does.
I do have the electron module if not mocked in bar(), but after mocking not
while jest.mock("fs-extra") works, after jest.mock("electron") electron is only an empty object, not a mock
I would really like to understand what I did wrong or what the problem is. Switching back to #jest-runner/electron does not seem to be an option, since it is not maintained anymore. Also I don't know if this is even the root of the problem.
Has anyone seen this behavior before and can give me a hint where to start searching?

Stub an export from a native ES Module without babel

I'm using AVA + sinon to build my unit test. Since I need ES6 modules and I don't like babel, I'm using mjs files all over my project, including the test files. I use "--experimental-modules" argument to start my project and I use "esm" package in the test. The following is my ava config and the test code.

How can I stub an ES6 module without babel?
According to John-David Dalton, the creator of the esm package, it is only possible to mutate the namespaces of *.js files - *.mjs files are locked down.
That means Sinon (and all other software) is not able to stub these modules - exactly as the error message points out. There are two ways to fix the issue here:
Just rename the files' extension to .js to make the exports mutable. This is the least invasive, as the mutableNamespace option is on by default for esm. This only applies when you use the esm loader, of course.
Use a dedicated module loader that proxies all the imports and replaces them with one of your liking.
The tech stack agnostic terminology for option 2 is a link seam - essentially replacing Node's default module loader. Usually one could use Quibble, ESMock, proxyquire or rewire, meaning the test above would look something like this when using Proxyquire:

Modifying the proxyquire example to use Quibble or ESMock (both supports ESM natively) should be trivial.
Sinon needs to evolve with the times or be left behind (ESM is becoming defacto now with Node 12) as it is turning out to be a giant pain to use due to its many limitations.
This article provides a workaround (actually 4, but I only found 1 to be acceptable). In my case, I was exporting functions from a module directly and getting this error: ES Modules cannot be stubbed

The solution was to put the functions into a class and export that instead:

notice that the function keyword is removed in the method syntax.
Happy Coding - hope Sinon makes it in the long run, but it's not looking good given its excessive rigidity.

Mock $root with vue-test-utils and JEST

My component has the following computed code:

Vue test utils provides you with the ability to inject mocks when you mount (or shallow mount) your component.

There are two ways to accomplish this with vue-test-utils.
One way, as mentioned above, is using the mocks mounting option.

I had the same issues a while ago and I came to the conclusion that accessing this.$root may be a sign that you have to further improve the way you communicate with components. Consider using the plugin structure to define globally available properties and methods not only inside the test for example. Mixins might be helpful as well.

Can't figure out where to put require.config when using TypeScript, RequireJs, and Jasmine

I've been following the pattern for setting up TypeScript, RequireJS, and Jasmine that Steve Fenton describes here:

That pattern as really worked well and truly unblocked me (yay!), but I'm now at the point where I need to customize some settings for RequireJS but I can't seem to figure out where to put my require.config call. Everywhere I've tried has caused breaks and regressions. Here are the two approaches that seem most logical/promising

My guess is that Attempt 2 doesn't work because of some kind of sequencing issue where the test discovery process is happening before modules are loaded, or something like that. I'm just not versed enough in RequireJS to know what my options are here.
I prefer to keep my configuration away from my application - you can pre-register the configuration like this, and it will be picked up by RequireJS when it loads. No need to add it to your first file.

Can Blanket.js work with Jasmine tests if the tests themselves are loaded with RequireJS?

We've been using Jasmine and RequireJS successfully together for unit testing, and are now looking to add code coverage, and I've been investigating Blanket.js for that purpose. I know that it nominally supports Jasmine and RequireJS, and I'm able to successfully use the "jasmine-requirejs" runner on GitHub, but this runner is using a slightly different approach than our model -- namely, it loads the test specs using a script tag in runner.html, whereas our approach has been to load the specs through RequireJS, like the following (which is the callback for a requirejs call in our runner):

This approach works fine for simply doing unit testing, if I don't have blanket or jasmine-blanket as dependencies for the function above. If I add them (with require.config paths and shim), I can verify that they're successfully fetched, but all that appears to happen is that I get jasmine-blanket's overload of jasmine.getEnv().execute, which simply prints "waiting for blanket..." to the console. Nothing is triggering the tests themselves to be run anymore.
I do know that in our approach there's no way to provide the usual data-cover attributes, since RequireJS is doing the script loading rather than script tags, but I would have expected in this case that Blanket would at least calculate coverage for everything, not nothing. Is there a non-attribute-based way to specify the coverage pattern, and is there something else I need to do to trigger the actual test execution once jasmine-blanket is in the mix? Can Blanket be made to work with RequireJS loading the test specs?

The key lines are the addition of the BlanketReporter and the currentRunner execute. Blanket jasmine adapter overrides jasmine.execute with a no-op that just logs a line, because it needs to halt the execution until it is ready to begin after it has instrumented the code.
Typically the BlanketReport and currentRunner execute would be done by the blanket jasmine adapter but if you load blanket-jasmine itself in require, the event for starting blanket test runner will not get fired as subscribes to the window.load event (which by the point blanket-jasmine is loaded has already fired) therefore we need to add the report and execute the "currentRunner" as it would usually execute itself.
This should probably be raised as a bug, but for now this workaround works well.
