Hi I am tying to connect my local machine to Azure Linux (ubuntu 18.04) VM using PUTTY but it gives below error
I am referring to the below link
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure-stack/user/azure-stack-dev-start-howto-ssh-public-key?view=azs-2008#connect-with-ssh-by-using-putty

Are you not able to ssh only while using the putty? Can you connect by using any other way?
Error message what you posted above looks very general and the root cause for this issue could be anything.
Please, check that post on Ubuntu. There is a nice article, please review it. The only difference, it's about the EC2 instances, but nature the same:
This error can occur under the following circumstances:
You’re not connecting with the appropriate user name for your AMI
when you negotiate an SSH session with a VM.
You’re using the wrong
private key when you negotiate an SSH session with a VM.

I've inherited a Linux server that had some ssh privileges setup on it to connect to other Linux servers. The thing is there is no documentation on where those privileges are stored and they are not setup consistently across all machines.
Is there a way to check what accounts and servers I can log into without a password on an existing machine?
As #lurker says, the permissions are maintained on the server. You need look through the /etc/ssh/ssh_known_hosts and ~/.ssh/known_hosts files on all your servers to find out which hosts can connect.

I want to copy my file from local machine to remote machine in amazon ec2. I am executing following command:
scp -i ilmkey.pem shahjahan.txt ubuntu#ec2-52-25-74-139.us-west-2.compute.amazonaws.com:~
I am getting following error:
ssh: connect to host ec2-52-25-74-139.us-west-2.compute.amazonaws.com
port 22: Connection refused lost connection
The command telnet HOSTNAME 22 gives:
telnet: could not resolve HOSTNAME/22: Name or service not known
I have set
SSH TCP 22
0.0.0.0/0
in security group tab. Please help me to solve this.
A "connection refused" error makes me think that sshd is not running or that the machine failed to boot. If the Security Group was rejecting you, the question would time out instead. If this instance was already running and SSH was working before, reboot the machine from the console and see if SSH comes back up when it reboots. Also look at the logs via the AWS console, and if you still can't get anywhere, contact AWS Support.

is there a way to bypass the use of domain in the winexe command?:
winexe -U domain/username%password //hostname "cmd.exe"
I have two PCs. one is running on windows and the other in linux. These two machines does not have a domain server. Just a simple local area network. Both PCs have administrative accounts
Please help. Thanks
After exploring, I finally resolved the issue by using .\ as a variable for the domainname. the .\ is a default value for the local area network.

I'm able to SSH into my network using my DDNS, which takes me into my NAS. However, I also have my Windows PC and my Linux PC on that network. I want to SSH into them from outside of the network, however my IP/DDNS takes me to the NAS, how can I specify which machine to SSH into, without being on a VPN.
I use
ssh -i /path/to/rsa/key user#ddns.com
or
ssh -i /path/to/rsa/key user#ip
I want to be able to differentiate between which machine I'm SSHing into, as their addresses are 192.168.1.103, 192.168.1.110, and 192.168.1.135 which is the NAS.
Any input would be much appreciated.
You may want to use tunneling, if you can connect to NAS via SSH.

I am trying to access my Ubuntu Server with Chicken of the VNC. I have GNOME installed on the server to which I can get access if I log onto the server locally and COTVNC will discover the server then through Bonjour service. Yet if I restart the server and do not log in locally then I have issues where my VNC Client does not discover the server any longer through Bonjour and I cannot connect even with manually inputting the IP address. I get Connection timed out error message from the client.
Any ideas how I can get around this as I do not want to have a keyboard and mouse connected to this server as it will be used as a media server?
Thanks
You need to start vnc server as a seperate service via /etc/init or /etc/init.d, and not as part of the session.
