I am running Visual Studio Code and dotnet 5 on Mx Linux 19.3_x64 (Debian 10), when i try to run dotnet restore i get the following error:
error : Unable to load the service index for source
https://api.nuget.org/v3/index.json. error : The remote certificate
is invalid because of errors in the certificate chain: UntrustedRoot
Thinking that this could somehow be related to ca-certificates i tried to run dpkg-reconfigure ca-certificates and update-ca-certificates --fresh, i also tried to install the unstable version of ca-certificates and reinstalling dotnetcore 5 but i wasn't able to solve this problem. Any help?
Thank you in advance.
This is related to this issue with certificates on Debian-based distributions. According to that link, Debian 10.8 should have resolved that issue.
Edited to add: The Ubuntu ticket has the two certificates that need to be reenabled for this to work. I just followed these instructions, and mine now works.

Actually what you are seeing is probably just a warning you get using
sudo apt-get update
This is probably an issue on Google end and it just reports the issue.
But this command just check for the updates ... Maybe I am wrong but I don't think it should prevent you from upgrading your packages.
To check if any packages upgrades are available (and then install) them you should run:
sudo apt-get upgrade
I am trying to install bigtop on centos6 (VM using virtualbox).
I am following links given below with little modifications to get latest versions (bigtop 1.1.0) -
http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/set-up-the-hadoop-environment-with-apache-bigtop.html
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/BIGTOP/How+to+install+Hadoop+distribution+from+Bigtop+0.5.0
To be precise, I have run following commands till now -
wget -O /etc/yum.repos.d/bigtop.repo http://www.apache.org/dist/bigtop/bigtop-1.1.0/repos/centos6/bigtop.repo
yum install hadoop\* mahout\* oozie\* hbase\* hive\* hue\* pig\* zookeeper\*
Now the problem is, it says -
No package hadoop* available.
No package hue* available.
No package zookeeper* available.
I am new to linux and don't completely understand what exactly these commands are doing. I have wasted an entire day on this. As I am just trying to explore hadoop on my VM, I am fine if I can get some older version of bigtop too but I would prefer that I can get atleast hadoop 2.0 or above.
Can someone help on this?
Thanks.
You have to run sudo apt-get update between adding new repository and installing packages from it.
Right now I am running Ubuntu 14.04 in VMware trying to make a Live CD with a tool called UCK. I am in the process where I can customize and add my own packages and tools to my live CD. I want to install and setup Autopsy so I began with the process of downloading both Sleuthkit and Autopsy. While trying to install those I have been told I have first have to use ./configure according to this guide: https://shankaraman.wordpress.com/2012/11/16/how-to-install-autopsy-and-sleuthkit-in-ubuntu/
and I got the following error: 'Configure: error: missing libstdc++'
Does anyone know how to fix this? I haven't found a solution on the internet yet.
Fixed it by running: sudo apt-get install build-essential -_-.
When I tried install deluge on my CentOS 7.1 I was facing dependecy problems due to some el6 which are not meant for CentOS 7.1. So, I found this page:
https://gist.github.com/dasgoll/111f6f3364e2ab97bc08
His instructions:
Centos 7.1
yum -y install wget wget hxxp://li.nux.ro/download/nux/dextop/el7/x86_64/nux-dextop-release-0-5.el7.nux.noarch.rpm
rpm -ivh nux-dextop-release-0-5.el7.nux.noarch.rpm
yum -y install deluge-web
systemctl start deluge-web
systemctl stop firewalld
browse http://192.168.3.101:8112
check it
yum install deluge-console
And my question is: Why he installed "nux-dextop-release-0-5.el7.nux.noarch.rpm" from li.nux.ro (if I'm not wrong it's a repository, correct me if I'm)? Because I had this dependency problem earlier when I tried installing deluge. But when I used his instructions it resolved all the dependencies automatically for me. So does this rpm file he installed on the first place was for resolving dependencies? If not then how can one work around with dependencies while installing a piece of software/application. Than You in advance.
P.S. I asked the same question in comments there too. But I'm uncertain of receiving reply there (no offence for the guy/girl - dasgoll).
Third party package repos will often use a *-release package to contain both a yum repo definition and a rpm signing public key so that end users can install packages directly from the repo using yum instead of having to find and then download them one by one.
I've tried installing different libgmp's from ubuntu app center and I tried installing it manually from http://gmplib.org/#DOWNLOAD but I can't get this to configure it's an old library and I'm trying to run it on the latest version of ubuntu but I didn't think I'd have problems but I'm new to trying to use libraries like this any help would be greatly appreciated.
I've had these kind of errors installing dependencies before, and I realized that you must to force the installation of such pack having it... you didn't mention the version of your Ubuntu, so I'm assuming you're working with 12.10. But if not you always can look up for the version you are running on.
Just download the pack from here, of course, depending on your architecture, and after that run sudo apt-get -f install in order to force the installation of broken packs.
