I am currently using SchemaSpy to document databases and it is working fine.
However, there are some things within the generated HTML that I do not want, thus I opened up the jar file and edited the template pages within /layout to remove the parts that I do not want. I am unable to repack the file into a jar file without it being corrupted/invalid.
I am wondering if there are any other ways to edit the template for the HTML report generation.

I have a folder with a large amount of .doc and .docx files, I would like to develop a python script to edit the tags of each file so I can find a file in the folder using the tags - thus making my life a little easier.
I am unsure of how to even start and was hoping someone could point me to a library or provide some sample code to help me get started.
I am not sure if the file extenstion matters because this seems to be a windows property (right-click file > Properties > Details > Tags > type in tags) but if the extension matters I do can change all the files to be .docx
The python-docx package provides methods to access most of the metatdata in a word file. The class docx.opc.coreprops.CoreProperties in specific allows you to modify author, category, etc. I didn't see tags mentioned but if you do some more research i'm sure you can find it.
docx.opc.coreprops.CoreProperties.keywords can be used to update doc file tags.
I am using the Gauge framework for UI Automation.
My hope is that I am able somehow to write screenshots to the folder being made to contain the html report for an execution. The trick is that the folder and its contents for a report are not made until after execution completes so I can't write screenshots inside the reports folder as I am taking them during my tests.
Currently the screenshots that I take are written to a folder in the reports folder (root level) of the project. When trying to copy the entire html report to another location I have to also move the screenshots and then have to manually manage the screenshots in that extra screenshots folder as I delete old reports. There are a lot of after the fact steps that I could do but was hoping for a simpler solution.
I am hoping that I was missing something and there was a way to write the screenshots into each reports folder (when reports are not being overwritten) so that I don't have to mangage (move/delete) the screenshots separately and so that the links in the report to the screenshots stay consistent.
Screenshots in gauge's html-report are embedded inside the html as a base64 encoded string. So they currently don't exist as a separate file that you can manipulate.
Some options for your use case:
1) Implement a Custom Screenshot Grabber and intercept the screenshot, save it to any location you like.
2) build a custom reporting plugin (ex, build on this seed example) and collect the screenshots independent of the html report.
If you do not want the reports to be overwritten, you can set overwrite_reports=false in your properties file. See ref.
Note that you can also change the html-report's theme if you want a different report structure.
As far as I understand, APEX 5.1 does not support Excel files to be loaded into tables.
I found this package that seems to make it possible to SELECT from Excel files, but it does not show how to use it with, for example, files loaded via the "File Browse" Item.
Now, I am very new to this environment, so please explain it from the beginning.
What I did is I upload the package script to the SQL workshop and executed it, without errors. But now?
APEX 5.1 doesn't support it out of the box, but you can use the EXCEL2COLLECTION plugin (available here).
It is very straightforward, just create a file browse page item with an upload button which calls an onsubmit process (e.g. CreateCollection) of type Excel2Collection[Plug In] - specify the file browse item, a collection name and the CSV separator, then you can do as you please with the data (e.g. you may want to run some validations on the data then insert it into a table where you can access it as normal).
How could I access the source code of a .one OneNote file?
I've tried to rename the .one file to .zip as what happens with .doc files in order to access their source code, but .one doesn't seem to work like that.
Also, I've tried to open it with Notepad++, but it isn't in a plain-text format.
I regard this as a programming question because:
I'm using content-editing-automation scripts (e.g. RegEx-related find and replace scripts). Accessing the source code of .one files helps me apply bulky automated edits on their content Using RegEx.
.one files aren't technically source code - they contain the data that describes the pages in a section and their content.
Opening them as text won't show you anything meaningful as they are binary data.
Microsoft has released the way this data is structured in .one files in the following documentation. You can use this to parse the binary file to obtain the information you need.
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd924743(v=office.12).aspx

The .one file format is super-complicated as it has to store images and all revisions, so it's binary and not XML-based like the rest of the office suite
That said if you do want to see the XML structure of the notebook or specific page content you can use OMSpy:

It works fine for 2016 Desktop.
I have an existing site in a path, and I've pointed the DreamWeaver site to it.
Under \templates there is a master.dwt file. But whenever I save this file, none of the html files which should make use of it change. What do I need to do to get DW to update the html files that make use of it? And how does DW know which files should be updated based on the template changing? Does it use an internal store or something because every time I copy the site to another machine, I'll need to link up all the pages to the relevant templates again.
I've tried going into Modify | Templates | Apply, but no templates are listed. I have a .dwt file in the path so why isn't it picking it up??
There's several possible issues in play here:
For Dreamweaver to properly recognize the existence of the template, the folder in the root of the site should be Templates and not templates.
Once Dreamweaver "sees" the Template properly you then need to make sure that the proper code is present in the child HTML files so Dreamweaver knows which files to update via the template. This code takes the form of HTML comments scattered throughout the page. You will always have the following line after the <html> tag:
<!-- InstanceBegin template="/Templates/TemplateName.dwt" codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" -->
After that, editable regions are delineated with code that will look like this:
<!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="someregion" -->
stuff you can edit
<!-- InstanceEndEditable -->
Without the above, the child pages will not respond to the template.
Now for the real bad news. Unless the existing pages match up with the template exactly, you are going to have all kinds of problems getting the template to play nicely with the existing content. Doing Modify | Template | Apply Template to the page when the page is already fully formed will generate a dialog box that asks you map the content to the editable regions in the template. But if the rest of the design elements vary from what the template contains, Dreamweaver will preserve those tags alongside what the template will introduce which usually creates a ton of duplicated tags and broken layouts.
You would be FAR better off creating new, blank pages from the Dreamweaver Template and copy/pasting the contents into the editable area and then overwriting the "old" pages with the Save As command.
I just encountered this issue myself. I realize this original question was posted some time ago, but for anyone who might encounter this problem in the future, I am posting my solution.
If the only changes made to the template relate to one or more elements contained in an attached/linked file (such as a CSS style sheet or JS file), which changes Dreamweaver allows directly from the .dwt template itself, using the style boxes at the side/bottom, then Dreamweaver does not perceive any change to the actual .dwt file itself. If you want those changes to "take effect" and apply them to all pages, you might type a change to the .dwt file itself, click "save all" - undo the change and click "save all" again. This step is really not entirely necessary, as the changes to dependent files can be affected to the website by putting the dependent file to the website.
Also, Dreamweaver will apply changes to CSS/JS dependent files, across the board, but may continue to use a cache, until closed and reopened.
