I tried to install the DB2 V11.1 FP5 on a SLES-12-SP4 machine. So far I
downloaded the universal package
extracted the universal package
called the command "./installFixPack -b /opt/ibm/db2/V11.1/ -p /opt/ibm/db2/fp5/" as root user
But the installFixPack stopps working sometimes at step 44 or 47 or also step 50 of 73 without any clear error message. In the log file I find a message like
"ERROR: The install path "/opt/ibm/db2/fp5" is invalid. Specify a
valid install path.
ERROR: DBI20105E An error occurred while installing the following
file set: "DB2_PRODUCT_MESSAGES_FR_11.1.4.5_linuxamd64_x86_64".
Because these files were not successfully installed, functionality
that depends on these files might not work as expected.
Rolling back what has been installed"
Any hint what I'm doing wrong?

./installFixPack -b is to patch an aleady installed DB2 HOME cf: pass from FP4 To FP5.
if you want to install the FP5 into a new path use db2setup (or ./db2setup -r for silent install)
you should add -l /var/tmp/installlog.log -t /var/tmp/installtrace.log to the installFixPack to see exactly what is the error.
Even if you started the install with root, the app can use another user to install some files/libraries.
Do you have the same message after manually creating this folder ?

I have started learning groovy and I just came across the SDKMAN utility.
To give it a try I folllowed the installation guidelines at the official site of sdkman and tried to run the below command to install sdkman on Windows 10 :
set SDKMAN_DIR="E:/sdkman" && curl -s "https://get.sdkman.io" | bash
But I donot see any sdkman folder present in my E drive.
When I try to re-run the command it says :
Looking for a previous installation of SDKMAN...
SDKMAN found.

SDKMAN was found at:
"E:/sdkman"
I am just confused as to why am I not able to see it with my eyes. I have even tried enabling view hidden items.
Tried to execute which sdk. but it clearly says which: no sdk in (..

which bash implementation are you using under windows? cygwin? gitbash?
I believe at least in gitbash that the path syntax is /e/sdkman/, i.e. you would do:
export SDKMAN_DIR="/e/sdkman" && curl -s "https://get.sdkman.io" | bash
but it's been a long time since I was on windows and I suspect this is bash-implementation specific (i.e. it might differ between cygwin and gitbash for example).
If this assumption is correct, the syntax you were using might have created a directory called E:/sdkman under your user's home directory or whatever directory you happened to be in when you ran this. Just guessing here, but worth a look.
I wanted to install msttfonts on CentOS 7. Following this guide everything goes fine, until I got to run the command:
# rpmbuild -bb msttcorefonts-2.5-1.spec
The system then throws this message:
cabextract is needed by msttcorefonts-2.0-1.noarch
It is pretty obvious that I've to install cabextract, so I did. By Downloading source from here, extracting, and then ./config... make... make install... (you know guys: all the routine). And I confirm the installation was successful with
# cabextract --version
Which answers with
cabextract version 1.6
So, I go back with my command rpmbuild... But the system stills answer me
cabextract is needed by msttcorefonts-2.0-1.noarch
And now, the questions:
What I'm doing wrong? Do I need to reboot the server? Is there a kind of command to tell the server "hey! this cabextract thing is already installed"?
... and well, while I was writting this question, I could resolve it thanks to this post. So I just leave this question just for further reference.

You need to install the cabextract package (by running yum install cabextract).
The message you are seeing is a dependency error: the msttcorefonts-2.5-1.spec file lists a dependency on cabextract, but because you have installed it from source there is no information about it in the local packages database.
I deleted contents of /opt , and now, spotify and google chrome won't work because I deleted their dirs. If I try to remove them, fix them, upgrade them or anything, I get this:

A part of this is translated, but only a small part.
I have tested this on my machine by deleting my /opt folder and then reviving google-chrome. So i know it works. Kindly follow the following steps in order to revive your google-chrome:
Download the google chrome debian file from this link according to your OS.
After downloading it open a terminal windows in the location of the debian file and run the following command to re-install google-chrome
sudo dpkg -i yourgooglechromedebianfile.deb
Your google-chrome is up and running again. :)

Per Doc 1410514.1 you could apply patch 9171651.
You will have to start the clone over from scratch.
I followed the instructions here to install pear and download drush in usr/local/src folder and create the symlink in usr/bin/drush
At the end of the instructions is says you can test by running drush. I get this output:
-bash: /cygdrive/c/xampp/php/drush: No such file or directory
Not the bash root of xampp/php. Does that need to be changed?
So, then I tried running /usr/bin/drush and got this output:
Unable to untar C:\cygwin\usr\local\src\drush\lib\dru6B61.tmp.

Does anyone know where I'm going wrong here?
I had the same issue. I reinstalled the cygwin packages above in the tutorial you mentioned above(I had them already from other installs, I thought). I think it may have been the 'bsdtar' package.
