I ran into a problem where Android Studio/IntelliJ Flutter/Dart autocomplete and imports suggestion stops working. Once AS is restarted the problem disappears.
Description and steps to reproduces are given below.
Steps to reproduce
Open existing Flutter project in Android Studio;
Create a new variable;
Click Alt+Enter to import the variable's class;
The Dart package is imported;
Launch Android emulator
Create another variable;
Click Alt+Enter to import the variable's class;
Expected: class is imported
Actual: No import suggestions are given. When writing the class name, no autocomplete

I tried googling for this but haven't found similar questions. I guess this is related to what ports are used by the Dart analysis server and the Android emulator. Restarting AS 20 times per day doesn't seem like an efficient solution.
According to one of the vscode-dart developers he has created a fix for this which should be in the next major release: https://github.com/dart-lang/sdk/issues/44650
Sidenote that i've been struggling with this issue for ages as well so I'm hoping it really will be fixed 😅

I have Android Studio BumbleBee 2021.1.1 downloaded, running on a MacBook Pro M1. When downloading Android Studio, I chose the Apple Chip option (opposed to Intel)
I've created a Virtual Device - Android 12.0 arm64-v8a Pixel 4.

I have searched SO and other blogs and can only find outdated material based on a time in 2020/2021 when Android did not support ARM64. However, it's my understanding that this has now changed so https://github.com/google/android-emulator-m1-preview is no longer needed.
What is the correct way to run the Android Emulator on a Mac with an M1 Chip?
I have found the issue so marking this as solved, however, if anyone knows why this solves the problem, please share!

Turns out, I just needed to uncheck 'Launch in a tool window' but again, not sure why that fixed the issue.
First post--be gentle. Can't find any posts on Android Studio 4.0, so I hope this isn't a repeat. I updated Android Studio from 3.6.3 to 4.0 on Windows 10 (1909). Had created a couple of virtual devices in 3.6.3 (a Pixel 2 running API 28 and a Pixel 3 running API 29)--both worked great in AS-3.6.3 and I could develop apps, compile, load, and run them with no problem.
After the update to AS-4.0, the virtual devices no longer appear in the devices box at the top of the GUI--it just says "No Devices". When I open the AVD Manager, I can see them, and I can start them (although when I start them I get a pop-up saying "AVD Manager: Unable to locate adb"), but I can't get any code to download and execute on it. On the Pixel 3 emulator, I also get another pop-up saying "Detected ADB: Could not automatically detect an ADB binary.", and it gives instructions to resolve it, which don't make any difference (jump into extended controls and toggle "Use detected ADB location").
When I try to open a past project and run it, I get the same behavior--no devices found.
I've also tried making new emulators, hoping the new setup would recognize them, but to no avail. Tried starting and restarting AS, as well as the computer, also to no avail. I have Android SDK Build-Tools 30-rc4, the latest Android SDK Command-line Tools, Android Emulator 30.0.12 Android SDK Platform-Tools 30.0.1, and the Intel x86 Emulator Accelerator all installed.
I've Googled and spoken words of fierce power over this for several days now. Any suggestions for how to get AS-4.0 to recognize the emulators? I've resisted uninstalling everything and starting over--was hoping it was just a configuration thing.

After some more Googling, I found the answer here (I think my constraint of wanting an answer for AS-4.0 specifically kept me from finding it):
Could not automatically detect an ADB binary - Android Studio
I had to redownload the SDK platform-tools zip file and reinstall it. I don't know why the old one got messed up with the migration from AS-3.6.3 to 4.0, but there you go--such is life with complicated software.
As soon as I replaced the old platform-tools directory with the new one, all my old emulators showed up and I was back in business.

Please Note: I tried several available solutions but none worked for me since yesterday hence posting this. I have also mentioned below what are things I have tried so far.
I am new to Android Studio and Flutter application and I am trying to build a simple Flutter app using the Android Studio.
I have downloaded and kept my flutter files in C:\src\flutter. Also added to Environment variables.
I have installed the Android Studio and also installed the Flutter plugin with the Dart.
I created the Virtual Emulator Device using the Tools->AVD Manager and choose the Nexus 6 with the Android 8.1
Created a simple project using the File->New Flutter Project->Flutter Application.
When I try to run this application I get the following error:
As you can see in the screenshot it shows that the No Devices in the emulator section not sure how to run it.
Things I have tried so far:
If I run flutter doctor then I get a tick for all the things except Connect Devices. My guess is that it is obvious because I have not connected any external device but using the emulators.
I tried to create the emulators using the command flutter emulators --create Nexus_6 and tried to launch it using the command flutter emulator launch.
I tried running the Android studio as an Administrator.
Restarted the system several times.
My adb.exe was crashing so updated the windows and replaced it with the new adb.exe as mentioned in one of the solutions.
My flutter emulators show following list in the command prompt:
I tried checking the folder in Appdata -> Local seems to be fine as per other mentioned answers.
When I run the Emulator using the AVD Manager from Android Studio I see that it is firing up the Android Emulator but it is not responding. In addition to this, I also observe in my task manager that process adb.exe(32 bit) is running whereas my WINDOW 8.1 is 64 bit. Is this expected?
I am not sure If I missed something here. Please help me on how to solve the issue.
Using below command on Flutter worked for me:
flutter config --android-sdk [android-sdk-path]
The path is usually C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\Android\sdk
this path can be found from android studio - SDK manager also.
A while ago my designed Flutter app was running like it should in simulation (virtual device) in Android Studio. After some updates of both Flutter as Android studio I am not able to get the app in simulation. I am new to Flutter and Android studio (have a little knowledge of Xcode, 2 apps in the store) so I have looked at stackoverflow first to find a solution. All tried suggestions did not worked for me and I am hoping somebody can help me.
I have an original version of the project which was running in simulation mode. Now I am working in a duplicated version to find out how to get things up and running again. It worked before but why does Flutter or Android Studio give an error now? The folders and content do exist. Perhaps it is a simple thing to solve but it is not in my knowledge.

Or try to run "flutter clean" (usually solves many problems)
Flutter studio sometimes does not resolve those (no idea why).
Try opening the same Android project in Android studio and check it from there.
Once back, try File->Invalidate Caches/Restart
If they exist and the name is right (without extension), then it could be it.
I've got a Xamarin Forms solution with iOS and Android projects. The iOS side was working, I switched over and did a bunch of work on the Android side. Now I need to do some more iOS stuff (push notifications) and I can't get the iOS Simulator to kick in. Xcode is installed, VS says it can see the SDK. I can open the simulator from XC but inside VS no matter what Debug combination of the .iOS project I select all I get is "Generic Simulator". Any ideas?
Try Unload the IOS Project and Reload and Set as a Startup Project, it works for me

This was the issue. The project settings listed 10.2 as the target SDK but the info.plist file had 10.3 which wasn't installed on the machine via Xcode. The machine has Xcode 8.2.1 and iOS 10.2 installed.
Additionally there's now a bug opened about this behavior. If the two fields are going to allow different values there should at least be a warning next to them about the mismatch.
I also showed Generic Simulator only on my project after updating to XCode 14 early. At the release of XCode 14 the stable Visual Studio for Mac (Xamarin) release did not yet support this version of XCode. Even the preview channel was not yet ready. Guidance from Xamarin.iOS discussion group was that the special XCode14 channel could be used to evaluate. https://github.com/xamarin/xamarin-macios/issues/15954
