I'm learning Godot and GDScript as an absolute beginer. For that I follow a course where the instructor make a simple code to format a string with values contained in an array. Here is his code :
But when I write the exact same code I have the following error "unsupported format character in operator '%'"
Can someone explain me what's wrong ? The only difference I can see is that the tutorial was writtenn on Godot 3.1 and I'm on 3.2.3
You're missing the second format specifier in story. Should be:
...ate %s flavoured...
What you're doing is called String Interpolation. As a reminder, all of the % inside your string need to have a specifier next to them. %s works for now, because you're embedding strings.
The documentation on the other specifiers for future reference: https://docs.godotengine.org/en/stable/getting_started/scripting/gdscript/gdscript_format_string.html#format-specifiers

I have some complicated array of structures and I want to write it into CSV file. So I need "variable to string" conversion.
Beckhoff as always doesn't care about documentation and their INT_TO_STRING function doesn't work (UNEXPECTED INT_TO_STRING TOKEN when I try to write INT_TO_STRING(20) ).
Moreover their string functions works correctly with only 255 chars.
So I need one of following:
working functions or function blocks or library which allows to convert different types to string
something like sprintf without limitations
some functions to convert between number and ascii char (0x55 is letter 'U') in both directions.
btw. Beckhoff gives us some weird CSV example code, but without data conversion (array has already strings in cells).
Thanks in advance!
I tried to use:
INT_TO_STRING() BYTE_TO_STRING() WHATEVER_TO_STRING()
but it is not working. And there is no clue how many arguments it should have or anything. There is no documentation in Beckhoff information System.
How do i use %s in lua, or a better question would be how is it used?
so here is what i have tried before assuming this is how it is used and how it works.
local arg1 = 'lmao'
print('fav string is %arg1')
at first i thought it was something used to reference a string or numeral inside of a string without doing like
print('hello '..name..'!')
Can someone provide me some examples or a explanation on how this is used and what for?
A % in a string has no meaning in Lua syntax, but does mean something to certain functions in the string library.
In string.format, % is used to make a format specifier that converts another argument to a string. It's documented at string.format, but that refers to Output Conversion Syntax and Table of Output Conversions to explain almost all of the specifier syntax.
The % is also used to designate a character class in the pattern syntax used with some string functions.
Here is your code using string.format:
local arg1 = 'lmao'
print(string.format('fav string is %s', arg1))
Or, taking advantage of the string metatable:
local arg1 = 'lmao'
print(('fav string is %s'):format(arg1))
Lua uses %s in patterns (Lua's version of regular expressions) to mean "whitespace". %s+ means "one or more whitespace characters".

Hello I'm new to python and I'm trying to learn OpenCV.
When I check the API references for OpenCV I came across this types of parameter description.
cv2.imread(filepath[, flags])
What does the "[, flags]" part mean? I know it takes in two variable, which is filepath and flags, but I don't know the meaning of the square bracket.
Any help is appreciated!
I'm confused as the what this write specification is trying to specify. N is an array of single characters. Could someone help me and explain the write format specification below. I saw someone post the exact same question a few days ago but the page is not there anymore.
WRITE(*,'(AA$)') N(I),","
The dollar sign in a format specifier suppresses a new line.
Therefore, the array N is written element-wise as a string (A) separated by a comma (second string A) one a single line.
Note that this syntax is not standard conforming, in modern Fortran you would write the format as
WRITE(*,'(2A)', advance='no') N(I),","
I am trying to do an XSL transform on an xml structure in a bpel assignment statement. There is a syntax problem, but I am having trouble finding official documentation. There are examples all over the internet but I have not found a clear explanation. Here is my best shot. What do the last two parameters do? Why is eclipse saying the first argument must be a literal, even though test3.xsl is a string?
<bpel:assign validate="yes" name="Assign">
<bpel:copy keepSrcElementName="no">
<bpel:from>
<![CDATA[bpel:doXslTransform("test3.xsl", $personalInfoServiceOutput.parameters), "middle", $positionSkillManagementInput]]>
</bpel:from>
<bpel:to variable="positionSkillManagementInput"></bpel:to>
</bpel:copy>
</bpel:assign>
The signature of doXSLTransform looks as follows:
object bpel:doXslTransform(string, node-set, (string, object)*)
The first parameter is the name of the XSLT script, the second parameter is an XPath identifying the source document (e.g. a variable, part, nodeset, node). The third and the fourth parameter is a key-value pair, the string is the key and the object is the value. Those pairs are mapped into the script's parameter context so that you can access these values by their name in the script. There can be any number of these pairs.
The best resource to look up such things is the WS-BPEL 2.0 specification, doXSLTransform is described in Sect. 8.4
When I use the following code :
<bpel:copy keepSrcElementName="no">
<bpel:from>
<![CDATA[bpel:doXslTransform("parseSample.xsl", $output.payload)]]>
</bpel:from>
<bpel:to variable="output"></bpel:to>
</bpel:copy>
I also get the error, that first argument must be literal string.
But, when I deploy my service (with error) to wso2 bps, it works fine.
You can try with this.
I faced the same issue. Agree with NGoyal. Shows error in BPEL but works when deployed.
