I installed Flutter and Android Studio.
I ran flutter doctor - Flutter doctor
I have the Dart plugin installed - v191.8593.
When I press Ctrl + Space at a very obvious place the AutoComplete do not suggest the right suggestions.
Example:
View animation here
As you see the first suggestion are not of type ScrollPhysics and are out of context,
and after I scroll down, there are ScrollPhysics suggestions, but they are after some scrolling.
This problem can be fixed by one of the following
Invalidate caches and Restart fixed my problem.
Goto
File-> Ivalidate caches / Restart -> Invalidate and Restart
Restart Dart Analysis Server. Follow the pic below
Note all above solutions works but are not permanent as it appears there is bug in latest dart Analysis server you can follow subscribe to this reported issue for more updates
Restart Dart Analysis Server :-
Navigate to Dart Analysis tab at bottom.
Click Restart Icon (red colored icon on top left corner of Dart Analysis Window)
Wait for dart analysis to finish.
If it does not work, try this :-
Delete .packages and pubspec.lock files present in your project folder
run flutter pub get
I fix this by enable the Scope Analysis, at Dart Analysis-> Set Icon-> CheckBox.
In my case, I run in android studio terminal:
flutter upgrade
if you type stful it gives you the autocompletion of stateful widget for you.
or you have to go to
> Setting -> Editor -> Live Templates ->(choose)Flutter->(tick the option)stful
This is the image Depicting the Steps
I had the same problem and solved it by changing the first letter of my project directory's name from capital letter to lowercase letter.
Example : "My_project" => "my_project"
The solution was found there : https://github.com/flutter/flutter-intellij/issues/5978
In my case, restart android-studio worked.
I'm trying to decompile kotlin code to java.
This question describes how to do it
I have to see something like this:
But in fact i see next one.
As you can see I do NOT have a "Decompile" button
Android Studio 3.5
Can anybody help me please?
make sure you have this plugin enabled, should work after
Go to Extensions and look for "Java Bytecode Decompiler".
Install it and do a complete restart to the Android Studio. Don't just close and open the project, restart the whole program.
Then, when the Android Studio will pop open again, click on "Search Everywhere" (by clicking shift twice), look for "Java Bytecode Decompiler", and make sure it's turned into ON.
That's it. Now the button should be visible.
I recently installed android studio but can't see the preview of the app.
When you switch in the Layout.xml, on the bottom you will see two options: -Design -Text. Chose Text and then on the top right you will see Preview appears and so you can click Preview.
Go to Res->values->styles and change the name of your theme to base.theme. ex-> Theme.AppCompat.Light.DarkActionBar to Base.Theme.AppCompat.Light.DarkActionBar
Please notice the value on the right of the small android icon, just above where the "preview" should be.
There you should pick the API in wish the representation is made. If theres nothing to select there, you will need to install the necessary API packages.
I've been fighting this for a while now. It's gotten really irritating.
I've tried turning off
File->Settings->Editor->General->show quick documentation on mouse move
File->Settings->Editor->CodeCompletion->autopopup code completion
File->Settings->Editor->ParameterInfo->autopopup in (ms)
Dragging the documentation window to the side.
And none of these have worked. I'm using Android Studio 2.2.3 on Ubuntu Linux. What am I missing?
Thanks!
This option
File->Settings->Editor->General->Other->uncheck "Show quick documentation on mouse move"
worked for me on Android Studio 3.0.1
Regards!
Android Studio -> Preference -> Editor -> General -> Code Completion -> Show the documentation pupup in XX ms
uncheck the option.
As soon as the pop up comes out, just click on the hamburger menu button, there you will see the options you have. Here is an image for you guys:
The location in Settings for turning this feature off has been moved.
New Location: Preferences > Editor > Code Editing > Quick Documentation
The filters are on the devices tab. But isn't this supposed to be in logcat?
How do you reset them back?
There is a way to make it appear.
Just click the "Event log" label in the bottom-right of AS.
But it may will miss again in some case... I guess whether it's a bug of AS.
This bug is still existing in Android Studio 3.5 the lastest stable version, I got it just now(08/26/2019 3:13PM).
Had this problem on Android Studio 3.2 Beta 4 (Windows 64-bit). Toggling 'Floating Mode' on and off again made the filters reappear. Bit faster than exiting Android Studio if you're lucky enough.
Had the same problem.
Exit and restart Android Studio and it should be fixed.
Interestingly, the first time I tried to re-open Android Studio I got a crash. But the second time it worked fine. Perhaps there's a bug somewhere.
See This Image Here, Bottom of android studio left side corner click the rectangle icon.
Restart Android Studio didn't help me, nor toggling floating mode, but clicking the "Event log" label in the bottom-right of AS did the trick!
I fixed this by setting viewmode for logcat to a separate window and the switching view mode back to "Dock Pinned". Right click on the top bar of and you will see view mode option. It will essentially reset logcat.
I fixed by changing its location. Click Setting -> Move to -> Left Top : The logcat reappeared. After that, change it to the previous location. Click Setting -> Move to -> Bottom Left
I had the same problem.
File -> Invalidate Caches / Restart solved the problem.
Bug still occurs in Android Studio 3.5
Build #AI-191.8026.42.35.5791312. What worked for me is clicking the Event Log then it shows.
I faced the same problem in Android Studio 3.3 and by Toggling 'Floating Mode' on and off, the filters appeared.Hope it will help in your case also.
Just right click on the title bar of it and switch to windowed mode then go back to your mode...
Still having the problem with AS 3.5 which is awful! Fixing it every time by switching logcat window view mode from dock pinned to float and changing it back to dock pinned again.
Opened an issue here for the team to fix it. Consider starring it to get more attention, or sharing your own experience to help find the culprit.
I resolved this issue by selecting 'split mode' from the setting option of the top right corner of LogCat section of Android Studio
Happy Android Coding!
Hope this will save anyone's time!
Simple
File -> Invalidate Caches / Restart -> Invalidade and Restart
I had the same problem. It didn't ever happened before on my PC, but now I'm using Mac and many bad things happens.
I tried to fix it by the above solutions, but nothing worked for me. What eventually did work was double clicking the toolbar (to maximize tool window).
I tired closing and reopening Android Studio and even restarting my mac and nothing worked. Instead of closing Android Studio I did invalidate cache and restart under the tab file in Android Studio and everything seems to be fixed now
I fixed in Mac by double clicking toolbar window to maximize as comments above.
I tried restarting a couple of times but that did not bring the filter menu in Logcat tab. However, in my case, it was also showing a pop-up notification to update the IDE. I updated it and got the filter option back.
I synced the files and then restarted the computer.
In my case
On your android studio press ALT+6
Go to Setting Right Top, just Click Show Tool
In your android studio settings, go to Experimental and unvalidate the "Enable new logcat" and restart your android studio, it will work.
