Connect WIX to subfolder of domain - web

I have a website example.com that is hosted on AWS. The main site is being produced by a development team. I have a landing page created through WIX.com. I would like to point the landing page to something like "example.com/promo" without interfering with the rest of example.com. Is this possible?

Yes, it is possible, you just need to use URL Rewrite on your code, so when people browse to example.com, it will automatically redirect to example.com/promo.

How do I redirect OldSite.com to NewSite.com/Sub/NewPage

I need to redirect several URLs to a new site that will have pages that replace the old sites. I don't care if the URL is masked or not. I just need the URL's to go to the new pages on the new combined site.
For example:
Oldsite.com redirects to NewSite.com/Sub/NewPage
Oldsite2.com redirects to NewSite.com/Sub/NewPage2
Oldsite3.com redirects to NewSite.com/Sub/NewPage3
and so on.
I've tried domain forwarding on the DNS level, but that isn't working (likely because of the subdirectories).
Problem is the New site was developed in Webflow and I don't have access to implement custom code for redirects.
My thought is to host a separate site to act as a hub that handles all the custom redirects to the New webflow site.
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
Your scenario here isn't entirely clear on the types of redirections you're attempting to do.
If you're trying to redirect all paths from the old site to a specific destination page, like this...
oldsite.com/* ➜ newsite.com/sub/newpage
...many modern DNS providers support that.
If yours does not, you can switch your nameservers to Cloudflare DNS free edition, and you'll have the ability to define up to 3 page rules that support wildcard redirections like this.

2 Different Servers - sub domain redirect url masking

I have gone through a lot of posts about .htaccess but its not working as my websites are on 2 different servers.
I have 2 websites, both are on different servers. One is on Linux Server and the other is on Windows Server.
My main website is hosted on the linux server. Lets call this abc.com
My other website is hosted on windows server - lets call this as xyz.com
I have created a sub domain on abc.com, subdomain.abc.com
I want to redirect subdomain.abc.com to xyz.com without changing the url which should remain as subdomain.abc.com. I have tried all sorts of combination in .htaccess but it does not work. Can you please help.
Thanks
VJ
Use an IFrame instead of trying to do this with htaccess files/code.
Using htaccess to redirect the page but keep the URL structure and change the domain only
Edit|Update: Use iframes and not frameset. See this w3schools tutorial page. Adding an iframe is very simple so keep everything very simple - http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_iframe.asp

IIS Server Subdomain Redirection

I have a Windows Server 2012, with IIS 8 installed. I have multiple websites there. I also have the Default Website.
When I create a new website like www.abc.com and abc.com, it works fine. However, when a customer enters an invalid subdomain to abc.com (a subdomain definition that is not actually there), like xyz.abc.com, it automatically redirects to my Default Website which is a landing page.
Instead, I want to return a custom 404 page from IIS. Is that possible?
Thanks.
Your DNS should be taking care of that. If xyz.abc.com doesn't exist in the zone, no browser should be coming even close to IIS.
That is, unless you have a wildcard record configured. It sounds like you might.
Give it a look.

weird website appear with the domain jwico.com if without www

I have this domain. on some internet providers if you try
www.jwico.com
it shows the current website.
and if you tried:
http://jwico.com
it shows the old website.
How can I fix this?
Go your hosting panel and create a subdomain name it as "www" and redirect it to your websites home directory like "home, public_html"

Redirect a new domain name to existing website in .htaccess?

I have register a new domain name (example.com.sg) without hosting server, but my existing website (example.co.uk) has hosting server with all scripts, content, and database.
How to pin point my new domain name to current website in [example.co.uk]'s htaccess file?
Or any other way to redirect that page when visitor type the URL domain name (example.com.sg) in browser and goes to my website (example.so.uk) ?
I'm not sure what you're wanting to do, but if you don't have a hosting server for a domain, you will not be able to have a .htaccess file (since it would need to be hosted) and therefore would not be able to redirect in that fashion.
Like I said though, I don't really understand what you're asking.
However, a redirect from one domain to some other would look like this:
Redirect 301 / http://example.co.uk/
That would send all hits to the root directory to example.co.uk.
This is what domain parking do. Go to the cpanel of your example.co.uk site and select parked domains. Then park example.com.sg on example.co.uk
