I'm creating a nodeJS application and i was starting my app with nodemon app.js, everything was working well but when i stopped to restart it was impossible to restart. I found nothing about that on internet.
For informations i followed the node postgres documentation for the project structure using async/await : https://node-postgres.com/guides/async-express
I'm stucked in that problem and can't understand why it happens, I just want to restart my projet

I created a frontend app and now trying to incorporate backend into it.
ON the same frontend app i added an index.js file in the root directory, and installed express and required it in index.js file.
Very basic setup as below:

Server is successfully on port 3001 as per my terminal, however, on localhost:3001 I'm not seeing any json response I set up in app.get.
It says Cannot GET / instead. When i inspected in devtool(Network) it says 404.
This seems a very straightforward setup, but what could've gone wrong here?
i just figured why. I installed nodemon but my “start” script is “node index.js”. Should’ve used “nodemon index.js”

Your code is fine, There are no errors, I tested it and it works as expected.
However few things to note, Keep Backend in Seperate folder/dirctory unless required.
Coming back to your question, There are many possiblity such as some modules are not installed properly
try running following command
//this will install if any library is currupt or not installed properly
npm i
if it doesn't work then try clearing cache
Also keep in mind, In nodeJS dev server does not automatically refresh changes, you need to restart server to see changes or you can use dev dependancy called Nodemon (this will auto restart server on saving changes)
I set up strapi locally and it works fine.
Now I wanted to deploy to plesk, but I couldn't figure out how.
The Problem is, plesk asks for an explicit (JS) file to start with, if you run a node.js application. This works well in another project. But there is no such file in strapi.
Any ideas?
Strapi can start without a server.js file.
If you need a server.js file to be able to run node server.js instead of npm run start then create a ./server.js file as follows:
const strapi = require('strapi');
strapi(/* {...} */).start();
First of all apologies if i couldnt explain my question but i will try my best.
I am building an app which dynamically creates node APIs for users also run them and return url of that API.So, i want to run node server for every Project dynamically.Right now i am using Nodemon which will run a script like this:

Every new project will add project's link in this script and nodemon will restart automatically.but this is not a good approach as it is restarting all the projects on adding or updating one project.So i want to run separate nodemon or node instance for each project.

i am using this at my local machine.as it is under development.so when i create new project ,the project generation code adds a project folder with files in projects folder.this change triggers nodemon which restarts and start watching newly added project.
Any suggestion for this will be appreciated.
on WINDOWS ...after install express-seed and node.js for the "blog" tutorial, i get the same cmd prompt after typing node app.js.

i tried alot of solutions, even had a local host run with another tutorial, but i would like to run from the blog tutorial due to some slight differences of the set-up.
Of course im a newb, and i know theres tons of answers on the forum, but none are correcting my issue...please help.

Is there a step im missing? all the tut's say just do 'this' and 'this' and i have a local host running so i can make changes to views. any help?

what version of node & express are you running?
From the command line you can check with:
node --version
and
express --version
From your code, it looks like an older version of express (version 3 or less), but I'm betting you didn't specify the version on the npm install, which will give you the latest version (4+). There's a lot of breaking changes between those versions, so you can't run old code with the new framework successfully. My bet is that your blog tutorial hasn't been updated to express 4.x yet.
I'm trying to run a simple Express web server using a gulp task. I only want a static server that displays the index file. I can easily perform this by running a node module, but again, I want to do this in gulp. I plan on expanding this to allow a LiveReload server to be set up.
I have followed many tutorials on setting up LiveReload but they are failing. I'm assuming it has something to do with the versions being used with respect to when the articles are written. But I was hoping maybe somebody had an idea on how to handle this.

I had the same problem and after a week without Gulp and BrowserSync working (the combination giving me the same error), I resorted to more severe options like reinstalling Node.js. In the end, what worked for me was to use nvm to downgrade to Node.js version 10 (I was using 11 before).
nvm install 0.10
nvm use 0.10
Then just updated and used Gulp:
npm update
gulp

I had the same problem with Express.static since a week. Disabling ETAG for Express.static solves this problem for me untill there is a better fix:
