That is not how the processing pattern works. The process delegate is called for each record and is therefore not a valid location to display a message that should be shown only once.
You would need to add a custom action to achieve that behavior. The scenario you're looking for should be implemented with a processing filter checkbox and processing filter to comply with best practices:

I am using rehosted-designer of WF 4.5 to give an interface for the users to create a workflow with custom activities and some of the inbuilt activities of the framework.
I am using AsyncCodeActivity model (perfect fit for my requirement), and hence is bound to execute a workflow as below, i mean execution is triggered at once without the possibility to iterate the activities in the workflow:

My workflow can have multiple "WriteLine" activities scattered in the workflow.
I want to retrieve the message of a particular "WriteLine" and show in the trace window as in the order how it appears in the workflow.
I have tried as below on completion, which displays all the "WriteLine" messages appended at the end of the execution:

Instead of appending the characters to the "writer" object and print it to the display window when the workflow is completed (refer the code in my question), i wrote a custom TextWriter to print the message of each "WriteLine" activity when a new line("\r\n") is encountered. example below:

My request is, can I get an example of C# code for how to do this using the Contract-based web services. I know how to extend the endpoint and get the wsdl file / service reference to my custom Generic Inquiry, but I don't know the syntax to make the actual call.

Just to make sure that you create the entity in the endpoint properly, make sure that the top level entity contain only the Parameters and that it has a sub entity of type details contain all the results. If there is no parameter then it is fine for the top level entity to be empty.

Here is how I extended my endpoint in order to use it with the Contract Based SOAP API
So the main entity named BatchPaymentsInq is pointing to the Generic Inquiry screen and will not have any field in it as you have mentioned that there is no parameter.
The sub entity Result is an array of BatchPaymentsInqResult an object created for containing the fields in the result grid of the inquiry.
We have an Azure web role deployed that has been using Application Insights (ver. 1.0.0.4220), however, we're going over our data quota. Is it possible to configure Application Insights ignore a specific URL?
We have a status web service that gets a huge amount of traffic but never throws any errors. If I could exclude this one service URL I could cut my data usage in half.
Out of the box it is not supported. Sampling feature is coming but that would not be configurable by specific url. You can implement your own channel that would have your custom filtering. Basically your channel will get event to be sent, you check if you want to send it or not and then if yes pass to standard AI channel. Here you can read more about custom channels.
There are two things that changed since this blog post has been written:
channel should implement only ITelemetryChannel interface (ISupportConfiguration was removed)
and instead of PersistenceChannel you should use Microsoft.ApplicationInsights.Extensibility.Web.TelemetryChannel

My team had a similiar situation where we needed to filter out urls that were successful image requests (we had a lot of these which made us hit the 30k datapoints/min limit).
We ended up using a modified version of the class in Sergey Kanzhelevs blog post to filter these out.
We created a RequestFilterChannel class which is an instance of ServerTelemetryChannel and extended the Send method. In this method we test each telemetry item to be sent to see if it is an image request and if so, we prevent it from being sent.

Once the class has been created you need to add it to your ApplicationInsights.config file.
Replace this line:

Alternatively, you can disable the automated request collection and keep only exception auto-collection, just remove the RequestTrackingModule line from applicationinsights.config.
If you still need to collect some of the requests, not just filter all out, you can then call TrackRequest() (in the object of TelemetryClient class) from your code in the appropriate place after you know that you certainly need to log this request to AI.
Update: Filtering feature has been released some time ago and allows for exclusion of certain telemetry items way easier.
I'm creating my own IntelliSense Presenter, since Visual Studio2012 support change theme, so I want my background color of the presenter can be auto-changed when the theme been changed. Is there a way to track the theme changes event, or get the current color theme of the Visual Studio?

Okay; this just helps to figur out the current settings... listening for the theme changed notification is a bit trickier. After your package is loaded, you must obtain an IVsShell instance via the DTE; once you have this object you can utilize the AdviceBroadcastMessages method to subscribe for event notifications. You have to provide an object whose type implements the IVsBroadcastMessageEvents interface...
I don´t want to post the whole implementation, but the following lines might illustrate the key scenario...

Just wanted to put an update just in case anyone else comes along.. #Matze and #Frank are totally right.. However in VS 2015.. they added a easy way to detect the theme change. So you need to include PlatformUI an dyou get a super easy event

You should make sure your control is disposable so you can unsubscribe from the event...

For VS 2015 this has changed, the solution #Matze has still works but you need to update the GetThemeId() function to check for the version and if it's 14.0 (VS2015) look in a different place in the registry. The way the value is stored has changed also, it's still a string but now contains other values seperated by a '*'. The theme guid is the last value in the list.

GCMIntentService.getNotificationIntent(context). This line returns the the Intent with the Activity I want to start.
Whenever there is a notification onReceive gets called but the Dialog only shows if I am on the main activity. So if the app is on a different activity, onReceive still gets called but the dialog doesn't show and therefore I can't start the proper activity.
How can I display a dialog on Currently visible activity on BroadcastReceiver?
Playing around with this one and searching on google I came across a solution. It is not the best one but it works. I still can't believe there is not an easy way to get the current context in Android. So this is what I did to manage to show the Dialog regardless of what the current activity is : I have a public static property of type Context on my singleton class(AppDelegate) and on each activity I override the onResume method and set the Context to the current activity like this AppDelegate.CURRENT_CONTEXT = this. Then on my dialog : AlertDialog.Builder(AppDelegate.CURRENT_CONTEXT).....
