This seems like an odd question to ask on StackOverflow, but are there any options with the code editor when writing M code in Get & Transform? For me, it seems incredibly tedious to have to open the editor and click "Done" everytime I make a change. Is it possible to:
Keep the editor open while saving changes?
Any other editors that can be used that are more "full-screen" applications, such as Visual Studio Code?

I am looking for a few things to improve my productivity, Android Studio has these features and it really sped up my work, if you know any of these please share.
Ctrl+Shift+Space equivalent in VS Code Flutter. What it did in Android Studio was auto complete a statement. For example if I typed in if and then hit Ctrl+Shift+Space, the if condition code block would be completed for me automatically with () and {} after it, with putting the cursor within the condition.
Code snippets for things like for loops. On Android Studio you could type in iter and then Tab, it would create for (var _ in ) {} and automatically jump to both variables to fill their names on two Enter keystrokes.
These were great for me, please share if these exist in VS Code, as I understand it is supposed to be superior.
You should install dart extension for VSCode.
In order to prioritize the extension snippets and have these ones for the first suggestion, go to File/Settings/Text Editor/Suggestions and set Snippet Suggestions to top. Now it looks like
In my project, I have lots of string resources. Now that I am planning for release of my first ever app, I wanted to translate those to some widely used languages. However, I was unable to find the translate button there. This may seem dumb, but I am searching for it from an hour or so. I even have latest version of android studio installed. I gone through this docs and it was no help. Can someone please tell me how to translate strings using translations editor?
Well, in my case it does show a notification when I open strings.xml (res -> values -> strings.xml) saying: "Edit translations for all locales in the translations editor" and then, in the right, it has two options: "Open editor" which opens the translation editor in a new tab and "Hide notification" which hides that notification.
Now, I think if you can't see that you might have accidentally hidden that notification. If so, you can also open the translation editor by opening Project tab (left), then find your strings.xml file (res -> values -> strings.xml) and right-click on it. In my version (Chipmunk | 2021.2.1) the bottom option says Open Translations Editor. Click it and you're right in the translations editor! As for the question, it does seem a little dumb, but I understand you're a beginner (and I was one too some time ago), so there's no problem!

The notification about the translation editor:
Been getting into Android Studio (and Android development in general) lately, mostly a personal challenge to make a modern version of an app my mum loves but hasn't been updated in ages. But my life story isn't the point, and that's not just because it's not that interesting.
The actual question:
Is there a way to make Android Studio do automatic folding for block comments (i.e. /* to */) in Kotlin files? In Settings > Editor > Code Folding there's options for documentation (in general) and multiline comments for C or Java, but no settings specific to Kotlin, and just one for Android in general (which has nothing to do with comments).
The reasoning: Because I'm still pretty new at this, there's a lot of things I've tried but haven't worked, and comment out instead of deleting because I still might be able to learn something from them later. There's also some big blocks of logging code for debugging that are great when I'm trying to debug but in the way (given I usually write them in the middle of classes or methods) when I'm not, so I comment them out. It's just annoying having to fold several sections of comments whenever I open a file.
The "well duh" solution?: I could set them as documentation comments, which would hopefully get automatically folded, but if I start writing documentation (like I really should get around to) they'll get mixed in and that would be annoying.
What I've tried so far: Going through all the settings with a fine tooth comb (and I'll freely admit I could have gone over something obvious) and searched for plugins for code folding, about the only one I could find is https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/12007-foldingplus which doesn't seem to do anything about this particular problem.
Can anyone help me out here, other than maybe "be less of a newbie in general"?
With Android Studio Arctic Fox I found that if you highlight a region that has the comments in question, you can right-click on it and one of the options will be Folding. From the expanded options select Fold Selection / Remove Region and the selected comments will fold.
I much prefer using Eclipse to the standard VBA editor that Microsoft provides and was wondering if there was anyway I could set eclipse to be the default?
The answer is no. The VBE is attached and inseparable from Excel. Therefore you cannot replace it with another IDE.
The VBE is customizable (just a little though). Play with it by going into Tools ยป Options

I noticed a strange behaviour in my VS2012 installation. I use VS2012 Pro and ReSharper 7. Intellisense is just not showing code suggestions anymore. I found a few related questions in my research but they always had a slightly different setup going and none could solve my problem:
Intellisense is working but, it's not showing the tooltip about selected member functions/Properties anymore.
If I take a look at the C# Text Editor Settings in
Tools -> Options -> Text Editor -> C# -> General
Most of the times the two necessary boxes Auto List Members and Parameter Information are selected. However, code suggestions in Intellisense don't work. Sometimes, when I look at the described settings, they are unselected.
Selecting them will make code suggestions work as in VS2010 but, only once. When I check the settings afterwards, they are most likely still selected, but code suggestions are not working anymore.
Some people suggested deleting the %AppData%\Roaming\Microsoft\VisualStudio\11.0 Folder, which did not work for me. I also tried to reset all changes, which also didn't help at all.
Tools -> Import and Export Settings -> Reset
What in the world could make Visual Studio to just forget its settings and trigger such an irrational behavior?

I display the code suggestions by pressing CTRL+Alt+Space. However, I have to press that shortcut every time I want to see the suggestions. It has to be possible to automatically display them every time, when possible?
I was having a similar problem, but I kept overlooking one small ReSharper Intellisense setting. I would double check that you have Symbol completion on in
ReSharper | Options | Intellisense | Completion Characters

Thanks for all the tips, I figured out what I had missing:
I had to enable "Completion Appearance" -> "Show Summary".
I also accepted Anthonys answer because he linked to a detailed post with screenshots that shows all steps necessary. (Although the thing I had missing is not mentioned there)
ReSharper uses it's own code suggestions that override Visual Studio ones, that could be the reason why the ones in the Visual Studio settings may be disabled. Please check ReSharper options at ReSharper -> Options -> Environment -> IntelliSense. Maybe they are turned off there. If your ReSharper options are turned on but you still have no intellisense, then please ReSharper's support at http://www.jetbrains.com/support/
