Disabling Excel Warning Message about Active Content - excel

I am dynamically creating Hyperlinks in an excel spreadsheet linking to a set of html pages also located on the same PC. The html pages load java script files. When clicking on the URL then the correct HTML page opens in the browser but as a side product I am also getting the following warning message:
My question is how to stop the information window popping up after clicking on the hyperlink in Excel. I looked at internet options and also at the Trust Center within Excel but was not able to successfully remove the information window.

There are two options to solve this without messing with security options.
Use the UNC path
change the link to call the file via a local webserver (e.g., IIS or Apache) on localhost

Excel hyperlink works only once each time Excel is restarted

I need to prevent Excel hyperlinks from being redirected by website scripts. Details are below.
In a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, I use the formula =hyperlink("url") to define hyperlinks to various websites. For most websites, the hyperlinks work as expected; however, some websites have implemented a script to redirect the hyperlink after the first click. The first time I click on the hyperlink after starting Excel, the hyperlink works correctly. Subsequent clicks on the hyperlink are redirected until I restart Excel. I am able to defeat the script (and thus prevent the redirect) by adding the website domain to Internet Explorer's "Restricted Sites" (under the IE Security tab); however, this breaks other functionality of the hyperlinked website. How can I prevent this unwanted redirect without adding the domain to Restricted Sites? If I could somehow clear the hyperlink cache after the hyperlink is clicked (using Excel VBA), that would be an acceptable option.
I am running Excel 2016 (32-bit) in Windows 7 (32-bit) with IE 11.
I was having this same exact problem. My default browser is chrome, but somehow IE was affecting Excel links. I added the website to IE's restricted sites which allowed me to actually open the link. Since chrome is my default browser, it opens up and works perfectly in chrome (retains functionality).

Saving excel web page to web server without disclosing UNC

My website users have dashboard containing all the graphs, tables etc. created in excel and now they wish to publish it online.The intranet web server is in LAN connection with client PCs and generally website is accessed something like this:
http:\\10.222.12.52:8080\mywebsite\index.html
Now they are saving the excel sheet with AUTO PUBLISH OPTION ON as a web page (say dashboard.htm) and they wish to view updated dashboard using URL like
http:\\10.222.12.52:8080\mywebsite\dashboard.htm
The problem is while saving excel as web page, we need to enter entire UNC path to website folder i.e. \\10.222.12.52\c$\Apache24\htdocs\mywebsite\dashboard.htm and the same should not be disclosed as almost any user in team (not necessary just admin) would be handed in-charge to save new dashboards quarterly.
Is there anything that can be done as an alternative to UNC path? something like
\\10.222.12.52\mywebsite\dashboard.htm that would be accepted by excel's "save as" dialog box to save the excel as web page..

Tabbed Coded Windows With Dreamweaver Layout?

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to manage more than one website in Dreamweaver at the same time? As I understand it now, every time I need to get a page from a website, I have to change the current site by selecting another site in the Files dropdown... Is there a way to have something like "tabs" where you can instantly switch between different websites without having to click the Files drop-down, select the website, wait for FTP to connect, and then browse that website?
I am using Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 and when I open multiple webpages, they are on tabs already. On the fist screen shot i provided, you can see that index.html and album.html are both opened. If you click on the restore button on the active window (icon encircled), it is manageable like the other image I attached.

Automatically select save option in webbrowser file download dialog box

I have a c# desktop app which connects to a site via a web browser control. The problem is I need to navigate to a specific section and download a excel file which is generated from a postback. I would like to either automate this process or bypass the file download dialog and save the file directly to a local drive.
Problem
The link is not a standard url. The site uses a postback script to get the file needed which then displays the file download dialog box. E.g. When you click on the button (javascript: postback) the file download dialog box is automatically loaded.
As stated I want to bypass the save options and automatically store the file in a predefined location. Any help would be much appreciated.
I find AutoIt http://www.autoitscript.com/site/autoit/ very useful for these kind of tasks. If you want to integrate it with your C# app, then you can call your AutoIt script via system calls. The difficulty is finding and following the link on the page, that will depend on how the page is laid out.

Can't open PDF files in SharePoint 2010 with Internet Explorer

So we couldn't open .pdf in the browser in our SP2010 site. I set the setting to permissive browser file handling in central admin. I then found out that there's a bug that if a site is created from a custom template the pdf files uploaded to that site will still prompt for either Save or Cancel. I ran a hotfix on the server

Consider the following scenario:
You set Browser File Handling to Permissive for a web application in the General settings page in SharePoint 2010 Central Administration.
You create a document library, and then upload an html document.
You open the html document in the browser.
Note You are not prompted to download the html document and it is rendered in the browser.
You select to include the content when you save the SharePoint site as a template.
You use the template to create a new SharePoint site in the same web application.
In this scenario, the Browser File Handling list setting for the document library in the new site is set to Strict. Additionally, when you open the html document, you are prompted to download the file.
Now when I click on a pdf with firefox I can open it directly but with internet explorer (8 and 9, default settings) I still can't do it, what's the solution here?
Edit: Maybe it always worked in firefox, anyway, when I create a new library it works as expected. How can I run this setting on all libraries?
There's a different, more subtle, but simpler root cause of this problem.
After much web searching and many hours with MSFT support, as hard as this may be to believe, it turns out that the root cause of my "SharePoint won't open PDF documents" problem was actually an Adobe extension/add-on. The symptom was an Adobe error msg "failed to open" after clicking the PDF list item in a document library. The culprit, an Adobe extension/add-on: "Adobe Acrobat SharePoint OpenDocuments Component".
I do not know how this got installed. What I do (finally) know is that this component actually does the exact opposite of what its name implies, i.e., it apparently prevents PDF documents from opening up when clicked in a SharePoint 2010 document library.
After various failed attempts to solve this problem (including changing "Browser File Handler" settings on the web app server from "Strict" to "Permissive" and other fixes suggested below and elsewhere on various blogs and web sites), nothing fixed the problem until we disabled this Adobe extension/add-on. Then, problem solved.
Note that you may not see this component in the "Tools > Manage Add-Ons" list until after attempting to open a PDF document from the library: apparently the add-on isn't activated (won't appear in that list) until an 'open' attempt is made. SO - if at first you don't see the component listed, try to open a PDF file and check the list again. If this component appears, disable it, and your problem is likely to go away.
Baffling, at best; or worse, actually nefarious on Adobe's part ...?
I'd still like to know how to get the PDF to open in a separate browser tab in IE vs. displacing the active tab. If anyone can help with that, please let me know! No custom coding solutions, PLEASE!

Solution #2 addresses Pdf extension without exposing entire Web Application to "Permissive" browsing. Setting "Browsing File Handle" to "permissive" opens too many vulnerabilities with other file extensions.

I have the same problem - originally installed Office Web apps, then turned that off, turned on the open in client application, then changed the setting on each doc library to open in browser .. Still have a problem with PDFs though.
If somebody includes a link to them in an announcement, then that person can open, other not. But only in IE - in FF there is no problme
Just change the Browser File Handling for the Web Application from the central admin as:
Central Administration > Application Management > Manage Web Applications
go to your Web Application example "http://sharepoint:80, just select it
from the top ribbon click "General Settings"
go down to "Browser File Handling" and change it to "Permissive"

try this:
Make sure you're the site collection admin. Go into the site (not the central admin) and then go to site settings then go to site collection features. In there you will find the setting for " Open Documents in Client Applications by Default " it will probably be deactivated. Active it and you're good to go. users will then open attachments in their windows assigned applications, not the sharepoint web apps.
Also, try going into adobe reader and in the settings there is an option to open with the browser. check or uncheck it based on what you want it to do.
Encryption and SharePoint don't play well together
Right click My Documents or source folder
Select Properties > Advanced (button)
Uncheck "Encrypt contents to secure data"
This should solve many SharePoint problems you might have, including files not opening properly.

This is specific to Adobe Acrobat. If you use a different PDF viewer, such as SumatraPDF the issue does not occur.
1. To prevent the 'Open, Save, Save As' dialog box in Internet Explorer:
This is specific to the versions of Acrobat. Set the following key/value:
Key: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\*acrobat_version_number*\FeatureLockDown\cSharePoint
Value Name: bDisableSharePointFeatures
Value Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 0x1 (hex)
e.g.
For Acrobat X:

2. To disable PDFs opening in the browser
This is specific to the versions of Acrobat. Set the following key/value:
