I want to click on a button on a website. Is there a code which can allow me to click on the element by using the TEXT field? I can neither use the resource id field nor name as they are empty. I tried to click on the element using the xpath but that did not work.
this is example using Java, but i believe that it is pretty easy to migrate it to a Python.
You need to use AndroidUiAutomator:
androidDriver.findElementByAndroidUIAutomator("new UiSelector().text(\"your_text\")").click();

I have a list of custom items of the same page type being displayed in a basic repeater with a page size of 1. I want to implement my own navigation for the back and forward through the items.
I tried using a Text / XML transformation so I'm not sure if I have to revert to using ASCX.
However DataItemCount works fine for the number of items but not the current "item" index. I have tried DataItemIndex and DisplayIndex which are always zero. I have tried accessing the current Pager (although ideally I want to hide this) but am not 100% sure how to reference it.
I also need to be able to navigate to the next and previous item. I'm sure I could make use of the querystring page parameter in a custom method but don't know how to write or how to call this. I am struggling to find examples which don't simply involve evaluating a column value.
It sounds like you need a carousel. I'd go with javascript solution for this: it is more efficient as it does not reload the page when you navigate between items.
You can also use this:

It for version 8.2, but with none or a little code adjustment it should work in any version.
I have a RichEditBox in a UWP project.
Is it possible to extract the text written by the user with all the new lines?
I can't find an attribute like RichEditBox.Text.
Is it maybe the wrong tool for my purpose?
I must use the Document property of RichEditBox.

Good day to you. I am newbie in SharePoint 2013 so please bear with me. I have created around 15 lists in my website each containing same columns but different data (they differ semantically).
I am aware that we can change the default view, edit and display form for each list by creating new form in SharePoint Designer 2013. This seems like a very bad approach as far as the maintenance is concerned. I know my lists are exactly the same so why do I have to create same 15 display forms for each of the lists?
Is there a way to create one custom Display form (may be in a central location, i don't know i am just thinking :P ) for all the lists? Is there a way to tell a list to use a specific display form? Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks.
If i understand your question correctly, you have 15 lists with same set of columns. You want to change the display/look of the form. All 15 lists should have same look and feel right!! If yes, then why don't you try with some html, javascript solution. Since you are in sharepoint 2013, javascript support for solutions is very good like rest queries. You can use SPServices also.
If you want to to add data to the list whenever you click on the "New Item" link in the list then hijack this link such that it should navigate to your custom form. Pass your list name as query parameter. Whenever user is saving the form, get the list name from the query parameter and save the data to that list.
There could be another ways also to achieve the solution with html and javascript.

Sam I think you can create a custom content type and create custom display form for your content type. Enable the content type in each of your lists so automatically this customized form would be available.
The advantage of this approach is that suppose if you need one more list after some time you can just add this content type and your form would be available into the new list as well.
The approach is explained in the link below.

Just wanted to write the solution which I implemented as it might help others as well. (Thanks Hiren and Mihir for your valuable inputs)
I had 15 lists and I was showing the data to the user using content search web part with custom display template. All of the lists were using the same display template so I made a new page just to show the item details. In the display template I pointed the item URL (i hijacked the list name and the current item id) to my new page and displayed the item. Let me know if anyone is interested in the whole solution or further elaboration is required.
Hello fellow Orcharders!
I'm not sure if what I want to do is possible, but I want to override the Driver for a single Field in the Module I'm writing.
The Field I want more control over is the Content Picker field. Basically I want the Content Picker to load the shapes for their respective content items. I've looked at Sipke's Content Picker Widget for an example on how to load shapes, however I'm unsure of the best/recommended approach to implement something similar in my module.
I have the Content Picker Field attached to my Content Part, and the default Content Picker comma list of Content Item titles appears as expected. I have tried to define an Alternate in Placement.info, but I can't load the Content Item shapes from within the Alternate view.
Presumably, as per Sipke's example, these shapes need to be built in the Driver and passed along. If this is correct thing to do, how could I do this in the most Orchard-y way with minimal "hacks". Looking into the debugger, I could "hack" my way to the Field I need in my part's Driver; but the module I'm building will be reused in the future by people unfamiliar with it, and if they start adding/deleting Fields from the Content Part, I'd like everything to behave accordingly!
Of course, if I must take the "hacky" option, I'm willing to do so, but only after I've exhausted all other options. This is my first module, and I've learnt an incredible amount along the way, and I'm really trying to learn the "right" way to build an Orchard Module as best I can.
Thanks in advance!
I have written a Dialog that uses an Advanced Find where the user types in part of a search term, i.e., similar to:
Dialog’s Query Step: Demystifying the Advanced Mode Capabilities.
In my case I created one to find all the Contacts in a post code area starting with "xyz..."
It works fine and I get the contacts in a picklist. How can I get this in a grid of results like you can for a regular advanced find? As I understand it the Query CRM data operation only gives you radio buttons or a list as output types. But is there some ingenious way of grabbing the results perhaps via a child workflow and writing them to a grid?
I'm sure you're looking for something a little more out of the box, but one approach would be to use an HTML web resource. You can mimic the dialog look and feel by using the CRM 2011 Style Guide included in the SDK (in the sdk\resources\styleguide folder).
I think this cant be done out of the box. You can of course create a webresource and then embed the advanced find view using fetchxml query.
Please take a look at the following url. Hope it helps.
