How do you create a loop using two dynamic variables? - excel

I have multiple cells ("positions") that require particular interior colors and values.
Each of these cells is associated with its own corresponding cell in another worksheet.
At the moment I have about 35 of these positions, but I may have 150 in the future, so adding these manually would be tedious! This is the code I have at the moment:

Why dont you use two loops stacked together to solve this? For example:
for each rng in Array(Range1, Range2, Range3)
for each position in rng
'Do whatever you like with this Range

next rng

The limitation of using Last column is that if there is no values in row 11 you should use a variable instead of last column referring to the total value of column you want

Managed to find an answer by using arrays and a control variable. You just need to ensure that the corresponding variables are in the same order!. Hope this helps others.

Unable to populate unique values in third sheet comparing the values of the second sheet to the first one

I've got three sheets - main,specimen and output in an excel workbook. The sheet main and speciment contain some information. Some of the information in two sheets are identical but few of them are not. My intention is to paste those information in output which are available in speciment but not in main.

If you have the latest version of Excel, with the FILTER function and dynamic arrays, you can do this with an Excel formula.
I changed your Main and Specimen data into tables.
On the Output worksheet you can then enter this formula into a single cell:
=FILTER(specTbl,ISNA(MATCH(specTbl[UNIQUE ID],mnTbl[UNIQUE ID],0)))
The remaining fields will autopopulate with the results.
For a VBA solution, I like to use Dictionaries, and VBA arrays for speed.

Both show the same result (except the formula solution does not bring over the column headers; but you can do that with a formula =mnTbl[#Headers] in the cell above the original formula above).
Another option is to join the values of each row in each range and store them in arrays.
Then compare arrays and output the unique values.
In this case, your uniques come from evaluating the whole row, and not just the Unique ID.

Note that Range("A1") and Cells(1,1) are syntactically different ways of saying the same thing. Be careful to not interchange those.
If utilizing a variable, you do not use quotations, e.g., variable j is iterated on a new sheet and you wouldn't write Range("j:j") as that will be the whole column 'J in the worksheet (yes, lowercase doesn't technically matter for that).

vba, copy data from sparse column to form a new dense column

An over-simplified description of my problem is illustrated in the figures below. I want to transform sparse data from a column in the Page1 worksheet to dense and then load it in a dense range in the Page2 worksheet.
My solution so far is that in the following code snippet. I would like to know if there is a more efficient alternative to achieve this goal, namely without a for loop or at least without the j variable.

Using CountA on one row ONLY and also using the cells found and putting them somewhere else

So I am learning VBA, I know how to program on Matlab and some C++. I am wondering how I can use the CountA to count all of the cells used on a specific row and only that row. ( I have multiple examples on ranges and columns but none on a Row only).I cannot use a range because I want to use this VBA in the future and this row will have a number of variables changing. I would also like to have the content(text) of those cells moved to another location with no spaces between them because right now they have three spaces between each used cell.

Excel - Move rows containing an empty cell to another sheet

This is my first attempt at VBA, so I apologize for my ignorance. The situation is as follows: I have a spreadsheet that consists of 4 columns and 629 rows. When I am trying to do is iterate through the 4 cells in each row and check for a blank cell. If there is a row that contains a blank cell, I want to cut it from Sheet1 and paste it into the first available row in Sheet2.
(Ideally the number of columns AND the number of rows is dynamic based on each spreadsheet, but I have no idea how to iterate through rows and columns dynamically)

When I run it, I typically get an error around the Sheet1.Cells(CurrentRow, Counter).Value = "" area, so I know I'm referencing sheets incorrectly. I've tried Sheets(Sheet1), Worksheets("Sheet1") and nothing seems to be working. When I do change to Worksheets("Sheet1"), however, it runs and just freezes Excel.
I know I'm doing multiple things wrong, I just know way too little to know what.

There are other ways that will achieve the same outcome but this should give you and idea of how to use loops, sheets, ranges, etc.
The lastColumn and lastRow variables will find the the last column/row of data in the given columns/rows (i.e, in my code it finds the last column of data in row 1, and the last row of data in column A).
Also, you should get into the habit of debugging and stepping through code to identify errors and see exactly what each line is doing (this will also help you learn too).
You might find this of use.
It uses an array variable to store the values of the cells in the row to be moved. It does not use cut and paste, so only transfer the data values, and the code does not require activation of the required sheets.
The destination rows are in the same order as the rows on the original sheet.
The method used to find the last cell used in the row and column is more elegant than other answers given.
