How to edit pipeline and data sets query in azure data factory v1 manually
With the recent changes in ui of azure portal.. we are not able to edit pipeline query manually. Is there any alternate way to edit pipeline query manually ??
I tried it and pipeline still could be edit now.
I created a copy active in Data Factory v1.
Choose the Monitor&Manage action in Data Factory Overview.
Edit the pipeline manually: AUTHOR--->Resource exploer---> right click pipeline/dataset--->edit
Hope this helps.

I wanted to comment on this post: I want to trigger Azure datafactory pipeline whenever there is a change in Azure SQL database
but I don't have enough reputation...
The solution that Skin comes up with (SQL DB trigger events) looks exactly like what I'm after but I can't find any further documentation on it - in fact the only references I've found say that this functionality doesn't exist?
Can anyone point me to anything online - or a book - that could help?
Cheers
AFAIK, In ADF there are no such triggers for SQL changes. ADF supports only Schedule,Tumbling window and Storage event and custom event triggers.
But You can use the logic app triggers (item created and item modified) to triggers ADF pipeline.
For this we the SQL table should have an auto increment column.
Here is a demo I have built for item created trigger:
First search for SQL in logic app and click on item created trigger. Then create a connection with your details.
After that give your table details.
After trigger create Action for ADF pipeline run.
Make sure you publish your ADF pipeline to reflect its name in the above drop down. You can assign SQL columns to ADF pipeline parameter like above.
You can set the trigger for one every one minute or one hour as per your requirement. If any new item inserted into SQL table in that period of time it will trigger ADF pipeline.
I have inserted a new record like this insert into practice values('Six');
Flow Suceeded:
My ADF pipeline:
Pipeline Triggered:
Pipeline successful and you can see variable value:
You can use another flow for item modified trigger as same above and trigger ADF pipeline from that as well.
with the new latest feature A new feature that allows invocation of any REST endpoints is now in public preview in Azure SQL databases
, I guess it is possible :

I am testing the Azure data factory deployment using ARM Templates and deleting the ADF instance (Data factory pipeline, linked services, data sets, data flow, Trigger etc.) using Azure Data Factory Delete item in-built task in DevOps Pipeline from azure Devops before deploying to UAT and production. All items deleted as per task outcome but there is one linked service which didn't delete.
Giving error= deleting LS_1 Linked Service: the document cannot be deleted since it is referenced by LS_2. basically the LS_2 deleted and it is not showing in the UAT ADF environment, only LS_1 is showing.
please find attached screenshot. please share your valuable suggestion on this how to resolve it.
Thanks
In Azure Databricks I want to get the user that trigger manually a Notebook in Data Factory pipeline. I think Data Factory doesn't have a dynamic parameter to pass the user to Databricks, only pipeline features and functions. Do you know any solution for this?
It does have dynamic parameters for a databricks notebook!! Follow this tutorial and it will guide you to do just that :D

Hope this helped!
How to move all existing job to another Azure Datafactory.
I am trying to move existing job from one data Factory to another but not able to find the solution any suggestions, please.
As far as I know there is no easy import/export facility.
I recommend connecting your Data Factories to source control (GIT). You can then copy and paste the JSON definitions between the two repo's using a text editor.
For propagating pipelines between environments, you can look in to the documentation for CI/CD in Azure Data Factory.
I have created a pipeline in Azure data factory (V1). I have a copy pipeline, that has an AzureSqlTable data set on input and AzureBlob data set as output. The AzureSqlTable data set that I use as input, is created as output of another pipeline. In this pipeline I launch a procedure that copies one table entry to blob csv file.
I get the following error when launching pipeline:
Copy activity encountered a user error: ErrorCode=UserErrorTabularCopyBehaviorNotSupported,'Type=Microsoft.DataTransfer.Common.Shared.HybridDeliveryException,Message=CopyBehavior property is not supported if the source is tabular data source.,Source=Microsoft.DataTransfer.ClientLibrary,'.
How can I solve this?
According to the error information, it indicateds that it is not supported action for Azure data factory, but if use Azure sql table as input and Azure blob data as output it should be supported by Azure data factory.
I also do a demo test it with Azure portal. You also could follow the detail steps to do that.
1.Click the copy data from Azure portal.
2.Set copy properties.
3.Select the source
4.Select the destination data store
5.Complete the deployment
6.Check the result from azure and storage.
Update:
If we want to use the existing dataset we could choose [From Existing Conections], for more information please refer to the screenshot.
Update2:
For Data Factory(v1) copy activity settings it just supports to use existing Azure blob storage/Azure Data Lake Store Dataset. More detail information please refer to this link.
If using Data Factory(V2) is acceptable, we could using existing azure sql dataset.
So, actually, if we don't use this awful "Copy data (PREVIEW)" action and we actually add an activity to existing pipeline and not a new pipeline - everything works. So the solution is to add a copy activity manually into an existing pipeline.
