How to check value change in column - python-3.x

in my dataframe have three columns columns value ,ID and distance . i want to check in ID column when its changes from 2 to any other value count rows and record first value and last value when 2 changes to other value and save and also save corresponding value of column distance when change from 2 to other in ID column.

Pandas dataframe: Count no of rows which meet a set of conditions across multiple columns [duplicate]

I have a dataframe(edata) as given below
Domestic Catsize Type Count

From this dataframe I want to calculate the sum of all counts where the logical AND of both variables (Domestic and Catsize) results in Zero (0) such that

The code I use to perform the process is

This code works fine, however, if the number of variables in the dataframe increases then the number of conditions grows rapidly. So, is there a smart way to write a condition that states that if the ANDing the two (or more) variables result in a zero then perform the sum() function
You can filter first using pd.DataFrame.all negated:
cols = ['Domestic', 'Catsize']
res = df[~df[cols].all(1)].groupby('Type')['Count'].sum()

Use np.logical_and.reduce to generalise.
columns = ['Domestic', 'Catsize']
df[~np.logical_and.reduce(df[columns], axis=1)].groupby('Type')['Count'].sum()

Before adding it back, use map to broadcast:
u = df[~np.logical_and.reduce(df[columns], axis=1)].groupby('Type')['Count'].sum()

how about

df.loc[~df[columns].prod(axis=1).astype(bool), 'Count']
and then do with it whatever you want.
for logical AND the product does the trick nicely.
for logcal OR you can use sum(axis=1) with proper negation in advance.

count Total rows of an Id from another column

I have a dataframe
Intialise data of lists.

I want to get total of reply_id in new for every Id.
Id=1 have 2 time occurrence in reply_id which i want in new column new

In this answer, I used Series.value_counts to count values in reply_id, and converted the result to a dict. Then, I used Series.map on the Id column to associate counts to Id. fillna(0) is used to fill values not present in reply_id
df['new'] = (df['Id']

.map(df['reply_id'].value_counts().to_dict())
.fillna(0)
.astype(int))
Use, Series.groupby on the column reply_id, then use the aggregation function GroupBy.count to create a mapping series counts, finally use Series.map to map the values in Id column with their respective counts:
counts = df['reply_id'].groupby(df['reply_id']).count()
df['new'] = df['Id'].map(counts).fillna(0).astype(int)

Taking different records from groups using group by in pandas

Suppose I have dataframe like this
>>> df = pd.DataFrame({'id':[1,1,1,2,2,2,2,3,4],'value':[1,2,3,1,2,3,4,1,1]})

3 2 1
4 2 2
5 2 3
6 2 4

Now I want top all records from each group using group id except last 3. That means I want to drop last 3 records from all groups. How can I do it using pandas group_by. This is dummy data.
Use GroupBy.cumcount for counter from back by ascending=False and then compare by Series.gt for greater values like 2, because python count from 0:
df = df[df.groupby('id').cumcount(ascending=False).gt(2)]
print (df)
id value
3 2 1
Details:

How to take mean of 3 values before flag change 0 to 1python

I have dataframe with columns A,B and flag. I want to calculate mean of 2 values before flag change from 0 to 1 , and record value when flag change from 0 to 1 and record value when flag changes from 1 to 0.

Increment values in a column based on another column (Pandas)

I have DataFrame containing three columns:
The incrementor
The incremented
Other
I would like lengthen the DataFrame in a particular way. In each row, I want to add a number of rows, depending on the incrementor, and in these rows we increment the incremented, while the "other" is just replicated.
I made a small example which makes it more clear:
df = pd.DataFrame([[2,1,3], [5,20,0], ['a','b','c']]).transpose()
df.columns = ['incrementor', 'incremented', 'other']
df
incrementor incremented other
0 2 5 a
1 1 20 b
2 3 0 c
The desired output is:
incrementor incremented other

1 2 6 a
2 1 20 b

4 3 1 c

Is there a way to do this elegantly and efficiently with Pandas? Or is there no way to avoid looping?
First get repeated rows on incrementor using repeat and .loc
In [1029]: dff = df.loc[df.index.repeat(df.incrementor.astype(int))]
Then, modify incremented with cumcount
In [1030]: dff.assign(
incremented=dff.incremented + dff.groupby(level=0).incremented.cumcount()
).reset_index(drop=True)
