I got stuck with my logic excel formula that returns the highest values with multiple ID's from 1 data history reference.
It is simple of course, but I met a dead end.
So please help to returns the highest ID at [MAX_PTS_ID] from the refence on the right.
Alternatively, using INDEX & MATCH:
=MAX(INDEX($F$2:$F$7,MATCH(A2,$E$2:$E$7,0)),INDEX($F$2:$F$7,MATCH(B2,$E$2:$E$7,0)))
Edit - match five IDs (or any given number - adjust ranges as necessary):
=INDEX($H$2:$H$11,MATCH(MAX(IF(ISNUMBER(MATCH($H$2:$H$11,A2:E2,0)),$I$2:$I$11)),$I$2:$I$11,0))
Note that this is an array formula so it needs to be entered with Ctrl+Shift+Enter.

however it seems to return the number 36 twice, once in the cell I want and another in the cell below, how do I refine this to a single cell of '36'

Modified formula 1:
When you want to retrieve 1st value of 2 values, you can use this.
=IMPORTXML(A1,"//div[#class='CharacterProfile-item']//*[#class='GameIcon-level']")
Modified formula 2:
When you want to retrieve 2nd value of 2 values, you can use this.
=IMPORTXML(A1,"//div[#class='List-item']//*[#class='GameIcon-level']")
Note:
You can also use div[#class='GameIcon-level'] instead of *[#class='GameIcon-level'].
I am trying to create a formula that will look at a cell and test the value in that cell against an array or multiple arrays of cells, and if a match is found, take another action like calculate a mathematical formula.
Really the action taken afterwards is not the issue, just used as a reference of what I ultimately intend to do with the formula. The biggest hurdle I am having is the first part of the formula where I need to test values.
I need to test the employee ID's in column W against the same employee ID's located in the "doors" columns and see if there is a match, and if there is, do another action.
Formulas I have tried, though I really don't know what I should be doing here:

Use MATCH for one column:
=IF(ISNUMBER(MATCH(W6,$T$4:$T$7)),X6/5000*1000000,0)
For multiple columns:

I have a sheet with multiple parts belonging to different affiliates and areas. I want to write a formula that brings up the unique part from this list. I created a formula for the data set to get the row number of each unique part as shown below:
I want to just pull the rows from G which began with a 1. I try using the formula below, but it just will pull all the rows in column A:
INDEX(DATA!$A:$A,MATCH(1&"-"&$A$2&"-"&DATA!A2,DATA!G:G,0))

As I understand it, the row already split the unique values, you just have to pull anything in A that has a G counterpart starting with 1.
=INDEX($A$1:$A$8,AGGREGATE(15,6,((LEFT($B$1:$B$8,1)="1")*1/(LEFT($B$1:$B$8,1)="1")*1)*ROW(INDIRECT("1:"&COUNTA($B$1:$B$8))),ROW()-10))
You'll have to adapt the different ranges to your data and the "-10" at the end depending on where you put your result.
My proposal, add a column, put in
=COUNTIF($A$2:$A2,A2)
Then filter only the value = 1. You'll see the results straightaway..
about the parts name in G..
you can load it using index()+match() function. Eg =INDEX(G:G,MATCH(A2,A:A,0)) to 'load' it.

I've got column which consist numbers of type 000.XX.XX
=COUNTIFS(temporary!$A1:$A200,">=000.11.35",temporary!$A1:$A200,"<=000.11.39")
this formula counts values between 000.11.35 and 000.11.39. But i want to count only unique values. How can I do this?
There is not a built-in function for this, as you can see from the several suggestions of how to accomplish this on the Office support site. If you can, you can switch to Google Sheets, and they have a "COUNTUNIQUE()" function.
As described at the link provided above, identify the unique items, either using a filer (this is static) or through repeatedly using the "FREQUENCY()" function. Then count the unique items in a separate step.
Lets say you have the data set in the first column, first you need to remove the repetitions in a second column with the following array formula (confirm the formula with Ctrl+Shift+Enter)
=IF(SUM((A2=$A$2:A2)*1)>1,"",A2)
this formula lists only unique values
I would remove your first 4 digits of your string to create a float number and then count it with the following array formula:
=SUM((IF((RIGHT($B$2:$B$14,4)>=RIGHT(G3,4))*(RIGHT($B$2:$B$14,4)<=RIGHT(G4,4)),$B$2:$B$14,"")<>"")*1)

I have a (large) array of data in Excel of which I need to compute the average value of certain values in one column, based on the values of another column. For example, here's a snippet of my data:
So specifically, I want to take the average of the F635 mean values corresponding with Row values of 1. To take it a step further, I want this to continue to Row values of 2, Row values of 3 etc.
I'm not familiar with how to run code in Excel but have attempted to solve this by using the following:
=IF($C = "1", AVERAGE($D:$D), "")
which (to my understanding) can be interpreted as "if the values (anywhere) in column C are equal to 1, then take the average of the corresponding values in column D."
Of course, as I try this I get a formula error from Excel.
Any guidance would be incredibly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
For more complicated cases, I would use an array-formula. This one is simple enough for the AVERAGEIF formula. For instance =AVERAGEIF(A1:A23;1;B1:B23)
Array-formula allows for more elaborate ifs. To replicate the above, you could do =SUM(IF($A$1:$A$23=1;$B$1:$B$23;0))/COUNT(IF($A$1:$A$23=1;$B$1:$B$23;0)).
Looks like more work but you can create extremely elaborate if-statements. Instead of hitting ENTER, do CTRL-ENTER when entering the formula. Use * between criteria to replicate AND or + for OR. Example: SUM(IF(($A$1:$A$23="apple")*($B$1:$B$23="green");$C$1:$C$23;0)) tallies values for green apples in c1:c23.
Your sample data includes three columns with potential ifs so my guess is that you're going to need array formulas at some point.
Excel already has a builtin function for exactly this use; AVERAGEIF().
