[SOLVED]
I have a configuration that copies a text file from Pull Server (Windows Server 2016 Datacenter) to the Client (Windows 10), it works as it should be, but i want that two files to be in sync. When i make a change or modification for the text file in Pull Server, i want Client to detect it and apply the differences of the file for itself.
I check file resources attributes to find the appropriate one but i couldn't find. Checksum for modified date also doesn't work.
node localhost {
File DirectoryCopy
{
Ensure = 'Present'
Type = 'File'
DestinationPath = 'C:\info.txt'
SourcePath = '\\SERVER-dc\Program\info.txt'
Force = $true
Checksum = "modifiedDate"
MatchSource = $true
}
I feel silly but for those who might stick the same problem, i won't delete the question. Replacing checksum line in configuration of the File Resource from "modifiedDate" to "SHA-256" makes two files to remain identical. I am still confused why modified date didn't work.

I looked to TortoiseSVN and TortoiseHG... bit too much for me and I don't want to setup a structure where the files will be saved. All I want is:
When saving a file, first saves the file.
Then if there isn't in file's folder a sub-folder called "History", it creates it.
Then Copies the file to "History" and gives it the first available number suffix as "_[version]".
Then, if is no txt file, in the file's folder, called "[filename].[extension]_Notes.txt", it creates it and adds a line with:
Version: [version] " of the " [filename] " saved at: " [date]
Now how would this run from any application? Dunno. Maybe have a button in the file save dialog?
I'm asking this because I'm just one guy working and not on huge projects and 99% of the time I would just like to have a localized versioning, set on a local sub-folder and a log to track the versions and dates.
Is this super easy with Tortoise and I'm being a mule?
Cheers
I have a Java Web App running on Tomcat on which I'm supposed to exploit Path traversal vulnerability. There is a section (in the App) at which I can upload a .zip file, which gets extracted in the server's /tmp directory. The content of the .zip file is not being checked, so basically I could put anything in it. I tried putting a .jsp file in it and it extracts perfectly. My problem is that I don't know how to reach this file as a "normal" user from browser. I tried entering ../../../tmp/somepage.jsp in the address bar, but Tomcat just strips the ../ and gives me http://localhost:8080/tmp/ resource not available.
Ideal would be if I could somehow encode ../ in the path of somepage.jsp so that it gets extracted in the web riot directory of the Web App. Is this possible? Are there maybe any escape sequences that would translate to ../ after extracting?
Any ideas would be highly appreciated.
Note: This is a school project in a Security course where I'm supposed to locate vulnerabilities and correct them. Not trying to harm anyone...
Sorry about the downvotes. Security is very important, and should be taught.
Do you pass in the file name to be used?
The check that the server does is probably something something like If location starts with "/tmp" then allow it. So what you want to do is pass `/tmp/../home/webapp/"?
Another idea would be to see if you could craft a zip file that would result in the contents being moved up - like if you set "../" in the filename inside the zip, what would happen? You might need to manually modify things if your zip tools don't allow it.
To protect against this kind of vulnerability you are looking for something like this:
String somedirectory = "c:/fixed_directory/";
String file = request.getParameter("file");
if(file.indexOf(".")>-1)
{
//if it contains a ., disallow
out.print("stop trying to hack");
return;
}
else
{
//load specified file and print to screen
loadfile(somedirectory+file+".txt");
///.....
}
If you just were to pass the variable "file" to your loadfile function without checking, then someone could make a link to load any file they want. See https://www.owasp.org/index.php/Path_Traversal
I wat to save a file.I use this.
FileChooser fileChooser = new FileChooser();
File file = fileChooser.showSaveDialog(null);
But in the dialog I want to suggest a name for the file, so that the user only selects a directory for the given file.The name of the file is known already.So i want to suggest that filename.
ThankYou.
This is now fixed in Javafx 2.2.45 (bundled with java 7.0_45 now) and you can do what the OP is suggesing with the following property of fileChooser, setInitialFilename, used as such:
FileChooser myFile = new FileChooser();
myFile.setInitialFileName("Whatever_file_I_want.coolFile");
Now, I don't think there is anyway to STOP the user from choosing a different file, but at leas this will give them a default you want them to pick.
Initial file name providing - it is a thing, which requires to transfer your string (initial name) through native call, to the call of the native file chooser. It is a complex thing, and you can look at these issues about its implementing :
http://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-16111 (main one)
http://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-24588
http://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-24612
They all have fix version lombard, so, they are fixed in JDK 8.
So, you can specify initial file name for a file, starting from JDK 8 (you can access it, downloading JDK early access).
Recently, I've tested this feature, and it is working.
There is a method setInitialName() or smth like that.
And, as I've mentioned, it is a complex thing, and you are not likely to be able to implement it by yourself (until you are able to build jfx).
So, the decision - to wait until JDK8 release, or to use early access builds. Or, to use your own implementation of file chooser.
Here's a workaround that worked for me:
you can use javafx.stage.DirectoryChooser to select a directory for the file you want to save and after saving create a new file in this directory with the default name and extension.
DirectoryChooser dc = new DirectoryChooser();
File file = dc.showDialog(null);
if (file != null) {
file = new File(file.getAbsolutePath() + "/dafaultFilename.extension");}
I want to create a new document in SAP. Additional I have some files which belongs to this document, these files I want to upload to the SAP knwolegde base.
I'm using BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2 to create or BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHECKIN2 to add files to a document info data. Every thing works fine, except file upload or checkin.
I'm using the DOCUMENTFILES table. I add a row for each file, currently I set only three fields:
row["STORAGECATEGORY"] = "DMS_C1_ST";
row["DOCFILE"] = "c:\temp\bom.pdf";
row["WASAPPLICATION"] = "PDF";
BAPI erro message:
"Error while checking in and storing c:/temp/bom.pdf"
I set the parameter
PF_FTP_DEST = "SAPFTPA";
PF_HTTP_DEST = "SAPHTTPA";
I have looked in the log data (slg1). I found following entry:
ERRMSG: Error in opening file "..." for reading (No such file or directrory)
V1: SCMS_DOC_CREATE_FILES
V2: 13
It would be nice if anybody has an idea and could bring some light in this issue.
Thanks in advance
Thomas
Remember that BAPIS run inside the application server and are not allowed to make any assumptions about the client side. This also means that they can't call back to the SAP GUI and upload a file from there. C:\temp\bom.pdf has to be a file on the application server, not your local machine!
Have you considered using
row["DOCFILE"] = "bom.pdf";
row["DOCPATH"] = "c:\temp\";
Let me know how it goes, or if you have already done with it then please paste your solution.
I want to know how to dynamically assign file name using Log4net .My application is such that 10 different files should be dynamically created based on user input ,and later based on the name the corresponding file name needs to be picked up and information written to it
For example in my application based on my buisness requirement for every xml file a corresponding log file with the same name as xml file should be created .Later whenever I do any modification to the xml file an entry needs to be in the corresponding log file
Please help . I having trouble to get control of the appropriate log to write it
Have not done this, but there are probably a number of ways of doing this, so this may not be the best way, but it should work
public OpenLogFile(string fileName)
{
log4net.Layout.ILayout layout = new log4net.Layout.PatternLayout("%d [%t]%-5p : - %m%n");;
log4net.Appender.FileAppender appender = new log4net.Appender.FileAppender(layout , filename);
appender.Threshold = log4net.Core.Level.Info;
log4net.Config.BasicConfigurator.Configure(appender);
}
Then just call OpenLogfile when you need to switch files.
You might need to tweak the layout or appender type.
A big disadvantage of this method is you losing the xml configuration and the ability to change settings at runtime. So a better way might be to configure your appender in the xml file to use a property
eg
file type="log4net.Util.PatternString" value="Logfiles\Log_For_%property{MyLogFileName}"
Then in your code you could change the property
log4net.GlobalContext.Properties["MyLogFileName"] = ...;
The tricky bit is to get log4net to reload itself. I haven't read the documentation of this, so I don't know if there is a way of forcing a reload. It might work if you just call log4net.Config.XmlConfigurator.ConfigureAndWatch again. Otherwise it should work if you opened the xml file and saved it again (without needing to change anything)
Hope this helps.
