I have robots.txt and script.php files on my server.
I want to transfer all requests to robots.txt to script.php with the following code:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^robots.txt$
RewriteRule .* script.php [F,L]
But it doesn't work.
If I delete robots.txt from server - all works great...
You are using F forbidden flag I am not sure what is the reason, but there is no requirement for F flag try with below.
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/robots.txt$
RewriteRule ^ script.php [L]

I have a problem with my website opening pages that should show 404 error. It seems that only the first part of the URL is taken into account.
Here's an example
example.com/page.php - (opens - correct)
example.com/asdasd.php - (error 404 - correct)
example.com/asdasd.php/asdasd - (error 404 - correct)
example.com/page.php/asdasd - (opens - incorrect)
example.com/page/ - (opens - incorrect)
example.com/page/asdasd (opens - incorrect)
I would like to get an Error 404 and if I feel that the URL is important also be able to Redirect it. Now I can't even Redirect URLs that for example look like this "example.com/page.php/asdasd"
The closest answer that I found was this:
Options +FollowSymLinks -MultiViews
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\. [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.%{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [R=302,L]
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^(?:GET|HEAD)\s([^.]+)\.php [NC]
RewriteRule ^ %1 [R,L,NC]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteRule ^([^.]+?)/?$ $1.php [L]
But the problem was that I got something like this:
Input URL
example.com/page.php/asdasd
Output URL
example.com/page
I need it for the .php extention to stay. And if possible instead of "Redirecting" to the example.com/page.php, I'd like to get an Error 404
This is what I currently have in the htaccess file:
ErrorDocument 404 /404.php
ErrorDocument 401 /404.php
ErrorDocument 403 /404.php
Options +FollowSymLinks -MultiViews
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)/$ /$1 [L,R=301]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^example\.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*) http://www.example.com/$1 [L,R=301]
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ / [R=301,L]
Sorry if this is a duplicate but I don't even know what I should look for.
example.com/page.php/asdasd - (opens - incorrect)
This is due to a feature called Path Info - if Apache manages to match the first part of the requested URL to an existing file, then it will serve that file, and pass the rest of the path along via environment variables (so that a script could in theory make use of this information.)
The AcceptPathInfo directive makes it possible to disable this behavior.
https://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/mod/core.html#acceptpathinfo
Here are the .htaccess rules:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^([^/]*)$ content.php?seourl=$1 [L]
RewriteRule ^pdf/([^/]*)$ content-single.php?seourl=$1 [L]
RewriteRule ^browsepdf$ browse.php [L]
RewriteRule ^browsepdf-([^/]*)$ browse.php?page=$1 [L]
RewriteRule ^download/([^/]*)$ download.php?pdf=$1 [L]
RewriteRule ^sitemap.xml$ xmlsitemap.php [L]
Options -Indexes
Here every URL is pointing to content.php?seourl=$1, even css, js and image files.
Here are some example URLs I need,
http://example.com/sjskjfsk21
http://example.com/asfasfasf43sf
http://example.com/pdf/fhfdhdh3432aaf
http://example.com/pdf/aisfyiahm2faf3
http://example.com/browsepdf
http://example.com/browsepdf-1
http://example.com/browsepdf-2
http://example.com/download/fjaskfjalsk3rs
http://example.com/download/usaydiy7aisydi
http://example.com/sitemap.xml
Can anyone please fix the .htaccess file.
Here every url is pointing to "content.php?seourl=$1"
Because your first (generic) rule catches all the requests. You need to change the order so you have the most specific rules first, and the most generic (catch-all) rules at the end. In your case you just need to move the first rule to the end. For example:
RewriteRule ^pdf/([^/]*)$ content-single.php?seourl=$1 [L]
RewriteRule ^browsepdf$ browse.php [L]
RewriteRule ^browsepdf-([^/]*)$ browse.php?page=$1 [L]
RewriteRule ^download/([^/]*)$ download.php?pdf=$1 [L]
RewriteRule ^sitemap\.xml$ xmlsitemap.php [L]
RewriteRule ^([^/]*)$ content.php?seourl=$1 [L]
NB: I backslash-escaped the dot in sitemap.xml to match a literal dot, otherwise it matches any character.
even css, js and image files.
You can make an exception for these static resources at the beginning of your file, before the existing directives. For example:
RewriteRule \.(js|css|png|jpg|gif)$ - [L]
For any URL that ends in any of the stated file extensions then stop processing the current mod_rewrite rules.
Alternatively (although perhaps marginally less efficient), you can prevent processing of requests for files that exist. Again, this goes before your existing mod_rewrite directives. For example:
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
RewriteRule ^ - [L]
However, this must now check every request for the existence of a file on the filesystem that maps to the request. (It could also be combined with the above rule if required.)
UPDATE: Bringing this together, we have:
# Exclude any existing files from being rewritten
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
RewriteRule ^ - [L]
# Specific rewrites
RewriteRule ^pdf/([^/]*)$ content-single.php?seourl=$1 [L]
RewriteRule ^browsepdf$ browse.php [L]
RewriteRule ^browsepdf-([^/]*)$ browse.php?page=$1 [L]
RewriteRule ^download/([^/]*)$ download.php?pdf=$1 [L]
RewriteRule ^sitemap\.xml$ xmlsitemap.php [L]
# Any other requests for the form "/<anything>"
RewriteRule ^([^/]*)$ content.php?seourl=$1 [L]
Using symfony for my website and i have a 302 redirection from my https://www.exemple.com/ to https://www.exemple.com/, and google doesn't want 302 redirection... It is the last condition of the rewrite section of the .htaccess which does that.
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI}::$1 ^(/.+)/(.*)::\2$
RewriteRule ^(.*) - [E=BASE:%1]
RewriteCond %{ENV:REDIRECT_STATUS} ^$
RewriteRule ^app\.php(/(.*)|$) %{ENV:BASE}/$2 [R=301,L]
# If the requested filename exists, simply serve it.
# We only want to let Apache serve files and not directories.
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f
RewriteRule .? - [L]
# Rewrite all other queries to the front controller.
RewriteRule .? %{ENV:BASE}/app.php [L]
</IfModule>
I tried to put instead :
RewriteRule .? %{ENV:BASE}/app.php [R=301,L]
But in that case i have a 301 redirection but my site is not reachable. Any ideas ?
Find solution,
It was not the .htaccess in cause. I'm new with 301/302 redirection and didn't know u can spécifiate it in controller. So i add a ",301" at the end of redirections i do in controller like that :
return $this->redirect($this->generateUrl('sdzbikind_acceuil'), 301);
Hope it helps somebody else... I'm just asking now if i should do 301 redirection in all my symfony project redirections !?
My primary website use Kohana framework. And I want create any directory (addon) with CI framework. I have success access the root of addon directory with addition .htaccess rule in Kohana/primary domain:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^site\.com [NC]
RewriteRule (.*) http://www.site.com/$1 [L,R=301]
RewriteRule ^(?:application|modules|system)\b.* index.php/$0 [L]
RewriteRule ^(index\.php|sitemap\.xml|addon) - [PT,L]
RewriteRule .* index.php?/$0 [PT,L,QSA]
I success when type site.com/addon.
I have 3 url again in my addon site such us site.com/addon/about, site.com/addon/link, site.com/addon/contact. When I edit again the .htaccess in primary domain to access the another links of my directory, but its failed.
RewriteRule ^(addon|addon/about|addon/link|addon/contact) - [PT,L]
When I type in URL site.com/addon/about
I got
HTTP_Exception_404 [ 404 ]: The requested URL addon/about was not found on this server.
SYSPATH/classes/kohana/request/client/internal.php [ 87 ]
How to access full or all of my directory file (addon) links without get any trouble ? Because I also check my admin on addon/admin also crash, all function in framework CI will crashed. Solving this is appreciate.
.htaccess CI:
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule .* index.php/$0 [PT,L]
You need to not rewrite if you are looking to use the addon directory. Something like
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
#forbidden for these folders
RewriteRule ^(application|modules|system) - [F,L]
#do not rewrite requests to addon or test directories
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^(/test|/addon)
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$0 [PT,L]
http://htaccess.madewithlove.be/ can be helpful with .htaccess issues.
I'm trying to remove the index.php from the URL, which is working with the .htaccess examples found on the EZPublish site and ForceVirtualHost=true. The problem is that the old links that point to index.php are no longer working (which is problematic when linking from search engines).
I've tried to find a fix for this in using rewrite rules in .htaccess, but I can't get this to work. Some of my attempts are:
Attempt 1
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/index.php
RewriteRule ^index\.php(.*) http://www.mysite.com$1
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/index.php
RewriteRule .* index.php [L]
This attempt causes an infinite loop.
Attempt 2
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/(index\.php)?(.*)$
RewriteRule %2 index.php [L]
RewriteRule .* index.php [L]
Also doesn't work :-(.
NB. 'RewriteRule .* index.php [L]' is necessary to make the virtual host setup in EZPublish work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

in your settings/override/site.ini.append.php:
[SiteAccessSettings]
ForceVirtualHost=true
Try to check the request line instead:
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^GET\ /index\.php
RewriteRule ^index\.php/?([^/].*)?$ /$1 [L,R=301]
RewriteRule !^index\.php$ index.php [L]
