I am trying to install Yoast.js using Git bash & Github but is stuck. I am installing Yoast.js from its Github repository.
When I open up the example page located in YoastSEO.js\examples\browserified\index.html there is no styling or js included. Just a couple of textareas. My console shows a 404 error with example-browserified.js missing. What am I doing wrong? Below is the step I am running in order to install Yoast.JS:
cd <newsite folder>
git clone https://github.com/Yoast/YoastSEO.js
cd <YoastSEO.js folder>
npm install
npm install -g grunt-cli
grunt build
# Open index.html in the example folder as described above
first configure webpack or laravel mix
then simply run npm install yoastseo --save

I have been cloning repositories with node and MongoDB but I always run into issues running npm install when I cd into the folder directory.
It has to be me because I happens every time. What am I missing?
Seems like npm install is the 3rd step after 1: git clone "repository link", 2: cd in clone folder.
Please guide me in the right direction.
Thanks a ton
You can run npm install from a directory where package.json file is located since this is the one which holds all the info regarding packages.
So just try to make it sure that the directory from where you are firing npm install command, have package.json file.
Apart from this, just check if you have npm installed. Run npm -v
npm ERR! missing script: build-core:prod
I'm receiving the above error when trying to run the custom build for framework7 - https://framework7.io/docs/custom-build.html
I have gone through each step however I am running into this problem in cmder and I'm unsure why.
The error occurs at step 7 if this info is of any value
Any help would be appreicated.
The error says it cannot find the script build-core:prod.
I could replicate this error (missing build-core:prod), by NOT INSTALLING THE DEPENDENCIES after cloning from github.
So the steps are:
1. Clone the Framework7 Github repository
git clone https://github.com/framework7io/framework7 my-app
this will download the repository in a folder called my-app
2. Install Node.js
that's another topic, hope you have that installed
3. Install Gulp
npm install --global gulp
if you don't have that
4. Install dependencies
cd my-app
npm install
be sure that you are in the root of my-app (the directory you just created for the cloned repository)
this installs all the dependencies that Framework7 Custom Build needs
5. Duplicate my-app/scripts/build-config.js
and rename the duplicate to my-app/scripts/my-config.js
6. Open my-config.js and edit it as you need
7. Go to my-app folder (the root)
and run
npm run build-core:prod -- --config scripts/my-config.js --output path/to/output/folder
path/to/output/folder is a path to the folder where you want the customised files to be, it can be (for example) f7-my-custom-build
8. The custom build is ready,
hopefully you can work with it now. :)
I'm trying to setup a MEAN environment. I keep getting this error:
Error: ENOENT, no such file or directory
'/home/user/app1/bower_components/jquery/dist/jquery.min.map'
I've tried on CentOS7 and RHEL6, on CentOS I tried installing nodejs from source and also from epel. On RHEL6 I used this method to setup nodejs:
curl -sL https://rpm.nodesource.com/setup | bash -
yum install -y nodejs
npm install -g mean-cli
mean init app1
cd app1 && node install
grunt
<error>
When I tried bower install I got Failed to execute "git ls-remote --tags --heads git://github.com/angular/bower-angular-mocks.git", exit code of #128 on bower install. To fix this run this command git config --global url."https://".insteadOf git:// I'm not sure if it is persistent.
That fixed the problem on RHEL6 but it didn't fix it on CentOS7. I went back to CentOS7 and tried again and it seems to have worked... I'm just going to move on and not question it for now.
You'll need to run bower install to download those dependencies. You'll have bower.json and maybe package.json (since you are running npm install) in your project root specifying the project dependencies.
I am trying to install nodemon but everytime I got stuck at the same part.
It get a response, but didn't end the job.
I have to stop it after some minutes with the state bellow.
I already try another modules and all of them install correctaly.
Could someone say what could be wrong or any other similar module?
Thanks.
Your environment has been set up for using Node.js 0.10.28 (x64) and npm.
C:\Users\>npm instal -g nodemon
npm http GET https://registry.npmjs.org/nodemon
npm http 304 https://registry.npmjs.org/nodemon
This has happened to me with other modules after canceling the install mid-way once, then when I do it again, it will get stuck.
I had to clear the cache before trying again.
npm cache clean
npm install -g nodemon
I've made it but I installed from the source and I did a git clone from the master branch, so try this out:
Create a folder:
mkdir nodemon
cd nodemon
clone the repo:
git clone https://github.com/remy/nodemon.git
then do an install in the folder you have created
npm install
Type nodemon just to make sure you have installed it.
in the case you got an erorr like this
Error: EACCES, permission denied '/home/[username]/.config/configstore/update-notifier-nodemon.yml'
You don't have access to this file.
try this
sudo chown [username]:[username] /home/[username]/.config/configstore/ -R
I need to build Syntaxhighlighter from here: https://github.com/alexgorbatchev/SyntaxHighlighter
I have read these:
https://npmjs.org/doc/faq.html
Getting started with NODE.JS in windows x86
Get started with Node.js in Windows
Installing node packages / dependencies using npm on Windows Server 2008
It seems that installing Nodejs from here http://nodejs.org/download/ should be enough.
Step 3 in the syntaxhighlighter Building instructions says:
3.Then ./node_modules/.bin/bower install to download dependencies
I have this path on my machine:
C:\Program Files (x86)\nodejs\node_modules\npm\bin
and I can see a bower.json in the syntaxhighlighter zip file.
I have googled how to download dependencies for windows, but I cant find anything.
There is a lot of info here:
How do I get started with Node.js
but I think this is not for windows env.
Can you assist?
EDIT:
Ok, seems to work now.
Installed Git-1.8.4-preview20130916.exe and restarted.
Step 8 ok now.
Step 9 gives "grunt not recognized".
Tried
npm install -g grunt-cli
from here: https://github.com/gruntjs/grunt/issues/774
Now I have a pkg folder
Thank you sir
Install NodeJs for Windows per instructions
Install Git for Windows, select option to Add Git to your path.
Open a new command prompt in Windows. Ideally, open as an Administrator. Do not reuse existing command prompts. The path will only be set in a new command prompt properly.
Download the code for the highlighter or use git to clone
If you got the zip file, unzip it
From the command prompt, change the active directory to be the folder of the code you cloned or unzipped
Type npm install -g grunt-cli, then Enter after each of the following...
Type npm install -g bower
Type npm install
Type bower install
Type grunt build
Done.
You have to install git package in this way:
sudo apt-get install git
It's working fine!
