When I installed Android Studio in my Windows 10 pc, then icon for Android Studio used to be this :
But after a few days, icon has changed itself into this :
How to fix this?
In your taskbar, right click -> Properties -> Untick Use small taskbar icons. (With similar meaning, I don't know the exact original text in English).
The icon file of Android Studio, $ANDROID_STUDIO/bin/studio.ico, is an icon file containing 6 pictures, using the size of visible area to decide which one to use. Asking the taskbar NOT to use small icon will solve your issue.
This bug has been fixed, just delete the studio.ico file and it will work.

As a Mac user, you can pinch to zoom the editor in Android Studio because is based on IntelliJ.
But I can't do that anymore in the latest Android Studio version (4.1)
I've already tried:
checked Change font size with Command + Mouse Wheel in Editor > General
checked actionSystem.mouseGesturesEnabled in Android Studio Registry
No luck at all.
Does anyone have any solution?
I have found a way to Zoom in Android Studio 4.1.1 in macOS 11.1.
open Settings with cmd+,
on search field in top left corner write: mouse
select Editor -> General
in Mouse Control area select: Chance font size with Command+Mouse Wheel
click in OK Button
General Editor Settings
After this configurations I was able to zoom pressing cmd+two fingers on trackpad.

I have downloaded the example code of ARCore (HelloSceneform) and i want to edit the BaseArFragment.java file, but when i type nothing happends.
(i want to change a gesture from tap to doubleTap)
I've tried pressing the padlock icon on the bottom-right corner but the file is still locked.
Any ideas?
the problem is not in android studio, you are trying to change file from sceneform sdk. You should rather try to extend ArFragment in your code and implement necessary changes there.
As you can see in the image below, every time I open a project in Android Studio, the layout decorations option is deselected. How can I have it selected for default?
look on the top left of constraintLayout that you currently open, click on the eye icon and then click Show Layout Decorations. then you will be able to see it. but i don't know how to access it.
I think is not possible. I never see about that the solution
The space at the top in android studio where recently opened java and xml files(I have marked that in my image) are shown has disappeared in my MacBook. How to bring it back?
At the top toolbar Window> Editor Tabs > Tabs Placement > Top.
that's should fix it.
I'm building a program in C++ (target is windows XP) using Visual Studio 2008 and I'm trying to add application icons, the ones that show up in the taskbar, explorer, desktop, etc. My .ico file has the sizes 48x48, 32x32, 24x24, and 16x16 pix in color depths 32-bit, 24-bit, 256 colors, and 16 colors. For what it's worth, I'm adding the .ico file to the binary in IcoFX.
I can get all the icons to show up like they should except for the one in the upper left corner of the program itself--the one that you can click on to bring up a menu with window size options--it still shows the default icon.
To get this little icon to change do I need a different image size or is there a completely different way of managing this one icon? Does that icon even have a specific name?
Thanks for your help.
Duplicated: How do I set the icon for my application in visual studio 2008?
According to one answer on that thread, you need to make sure that your icon is the first icon in the resources file.
Ok, I've figured it out:
I'm using wxWidgets as my GUI toolkit, so this is the only satisfactory answer I can give. wxWidgets has classes to set the main frame icons, those classes include wxIcon and wxIconBundle. Then wxTopLevelWindow::SetIcons can be used to set the application's icons. This sets ALL the icons (taskbar, main frame, alt-tab chooser, etc), no need to mess with a resource file in Visual Studio.
