Good day!
I have extended a graph to change the screen title of an existing page.
public class NonStockItemMaintExt : PXGraphExtension<NonStockItemMaint>
{
public override void Initialize()
{
base.Initialize();
PXSiteMap.CurrentNode.Title = "My Custom Page Title";
}
}
Unfortunately, the method seems not to be working.
I also tried creating a new page for that existing graph, so that I will have the control to name the page, but as i clicked the newly created link, I am being redirected to the original page of the graph, and so the page title is still the same.
Is there any ways for me to properly rename my page?
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.
Fixed the problem through inheritance. I also checked the aspx.cs file of the page to make sure that everything is running correctly. Thanks for all the help.

Previous question for context (the previous question was going nowhere, so I created this new one to start fresh): Unable to Create New MVC Widget in Kentico 12
I'm trying to create a widget called "Image with Summary". For now, I'm just trying to add a single property to it (a summary property that will have a rich text editor).
It isn't appearing as a widget option when I add a new widget to page builder:
From this, you can see that I have page builder configured properly (there is already a "Rich text" widget added), you can see that adding widgets is possible (the "Rich text" widget comes from a NuGet package that I installed called "Kentico.EMS12.MvcComponents.Widget.RichText"), and you can see that I only have two widgets available ("Form" and "Rich text"), neither of which are the widget I'm trying to add.
I need your help figuring out why my new widget is not appearing in this dialog.
Here is the Solution Explorer in Visual Studio showing all the files I've created for this new widget:
Here is what my properties class looks like:
// ImageWithSummaryProperties.cs
namespace RhythmAgency.KenticoWebsite.Widgets.ImageWithSummary
{
using Kentico.PageBuilder.Web.Mvc;
public class ImageWithSummaryProperties : IWidgetProperties
{
public string Summary { get; set; }
}
}
Here is what my view model looks like:
// ImageWithSummaryViewModel.cs
namespace RhythmAgency.KenticoWebsite.Widgets.ImageWithSummary
{
public class ImageWithSummaryViewModel
{
public string Summary { get; set; }
}
}
Here is what my controller looks like:
// ImageWithSummaryController.cs
using System.Web.Mvc;
using Kentico.PageBuilder.Web.Mvc;
using RhythmAgency.KenticoWebsite.Widgets.ImageWithSummary;
[assembly: RegisterWidget(
identifier: "Rhythm.ImageWithSummary",
controllerType: typeof(ImageWithSummaryController),
name: "Image with Summary",
Description = "An image with summary text.",
IconClass = "icon-l-img-3-cols-3")]
namespace RhythmAgency.KenticoWebsite.Widgets.ImageWithSummary
{
public class ImageWithSummaryController : WidgetController<ImageWithSummaryProperties>
{
public ActionResult Index()
{
var properties = GetProperties();
return PartialView("Widgets/_Rhythm.ImageWithSummary", new ImageWithSummaryViewModel()
{
Summary = properties.Summary
});
}
}
}
Here is what my view looks like:
#* _Rhythm.ImageWithSummary.cshtml *#
#using Kentico.PageBuilder.Web.Mvc
#using RhythmAgency.KenticoWebsite.Widgets.ImageWithSummary
#using Kentico.Components.Web.Mvc.InlineEditors
#model ImageWithSummaryViewModel
#if (Context.Kentico().PageBuilder().EditMode)
{
Html.Kentico().RichTextEditor(nameof(ImageWithSummaryProperties.Summary), null);
}
else
{
<div class="fr-view">
#Html.Raw(Html.Kentico().ResolveRichText(Model.Summary))
</div>
}
I wouldn't focus too much on the view file, as I'm not even able to add the widget to the page builder, so the view has never even had a chance to be called.
Here's my home view file:
#* Views/Home/Index.cshtml *#
#using Kentico.PageBuilder.Web.Mvc
#using Kentico.Web.Mvc
<h1>Rhythm Agency</h1>
#Html.Kentico().EditableArea("main")
I'm really at a loss as to why this widget isn't appearing in the list of available widgets to add to the page section. Here's some extra context:
I'm on Kentico 12.0.77.
I've tried a widget without a controller and now one with a controller.
As you can see, I have the widget registration (as an assembly attribute) in the controller class file.
The frontend of the site renders the rich text widget just fine.
I didn't see any relevant issues in the error log.
I'm using the default section.
When I call EditableArea, you can see I do not place any restrictions on the widgets that can be used.
I'm using the free edition of Kentico. I doubt that's a factor, but mentioning it just in case (the "benefits of upgrading your license" link is currently a 404).
I don't see any errors in Chrome's console.
I've read various instructions for creating widgets like 10 times. No idea what I'm missing.
I'm using Chrome on Windows 10.
I was previously calling the widget "Image Summary Section", but I renamed it on the off chance "Section" was a reserved word.
EDIT:
Somebody is curious as to why this and the previous question are different, so this edit clarifies that. The previous question was about a widget I was attempting to implement using just a properties class. This newer question uses a different approach (namely, using a controller), which is an alternative way of implementing widgets in Kentico.
EDIT #2:
Somebody recommended I put the widget registration assembly attribute in the App_Start folder, which I did, but it didn't help:
So why this is failing to work is still a mystery.
For the controller and widget to be recognized you need to put your controller in the '/Controllers' folder. I have my widget controllers located in the '/Controllers/Widgets' folder.
I had issues which included not having added the suffix 'Controller' in the class name and issues with the widget controller not being in the '/Controllers' folder.
Also you aren't working in an seperate project? Because this would need you to use the following in the 'AssemblyInfo.cs'
using CMS;
[assembly: AssemblyDiscoverable]
And make sure you have enabled the page builder feature in your kentico project. For example:
protected void Application_Start()
{
...
// Gets the ApplicationBuilder instance
// Allows you to enable and configure Kentico MVC features
ApplicationBuilder builder = ApplicationBuilder.Current;
// Enables the preview feature
builder.UsePreview();
// Enables the page builder feature
builder.UsePageBuilder();
...
}
I have added a Global Button with the following code.
public override void Initialize()
{
if (!String.IsNullOrEmpty(Base.PrimaryView))
{
Type primaryViewItemType = Base.Views[Base.PrimaryView].Cache.GetItemType();
PXAction action = PXNamedAction.AddAction(Base, primaryViewItemType, "SubmitTicket", "Submit Ticket", TestClick);
}
}
public IEnumerable TestClick(PXAdapter adapter)
{
throw new PXException("Button clicked from graph" + Base.GetType().Name);
}
And it renders the button like this in each of the pages.
Now, I would like to display a popup panel, on button's click. I know I can create a popup panel on screen section. But, is there some way that I can have a general popup panel created in one place and can be displayed on each of the pages on the button's click?
Thank you.
As #HB_ACUMATICA mentioned there is no good easy way.
Providing another alternative to his post, you can create a graph and use it as a reusable popup by calling:
throw new PXPopupRedirectException(graph, string.Empty, true)
One thing I ran into was a sizing issue on the popup...
Changing the height/width when calling another graph as an in-page popup using PXPopupRedirectException
If you do copy and paste the PXSmartPanel you can create re-usable business logic by implementing the reusable business logic pattern found in this help as a starting point:
Reusing Business Logic
If I understand correctly you want to share the same PXSmartPanel control in different pages without having to copy/paste it in every screen.
In Acumatica Framework this is achieve by custom container controls like 'PXUploadDialog' which derives functionality from other controls like 'PXSmartPanel'. This is the control that is used when you attach files in all screen.
Unfortunately there seems to be no documentation on how to achieve this.
The closest I found is this SO question which is essentially unanswered:
Create custom User Control for Acumatica
Considering this, you may want to copy/paste the same smart panel in all screen.
To ease copying you can use the 'Edit ASPX' feature, make sure you backup the project before.
Edit ASPX to get to the code:
Copy paste your smart panel in the page and click 'GENERATE CUSTOMIZATION SCRIPT' to package the changes in the project:
I want to prevent the user that he will loose his changes in an EditView when changing the view to another.
I use MVP4G in my project and the project is divided as mvp's structure (one package for the template another one for views ..) is there any solution to detect the EditView in the eventBus. or detect the current View shown to user
Thanks in advance
Thanks to the Navigation Event feature in mvp4g, the presenter will get control before the view changes. At this point the presenter can decide if the navigation will be done or not. This is the correct place in a mvp4g application to save your data.
First zu have to mark all events in the eventbus that will change your view with:
#Event(..., navigationEvent = true)
void goToPage1();
Next your presenters have to implement the NavigationConfirmationInterface and the requires confirm-method:
public class Presenter extends ... implements NavigationConfirmationInterface {
public void confirm(NavigationEventCommand event) {
//pseudo method to verify if the view has changed
if (isViewModified(){
//Window shouldn't be used inside a presenter
//this is just to give a simple example
if (Window.confirm("Are you sure you want to leave?")){
event.fireEvent();
}
} else {
event.fireEvent();
}
}
}
And the last thing to do, is to set the presenter of the current view to the confirmation presenter by calling:
event.fireEvent(false);
This is usually done when the presenter gets control.
You will find the documentation here:

Thanks to MVP4G's team including El Hoss who gives me a hint to check the MVP4G's blog.. I've solved my problem by following this example

I have a really weird issue with Ektron. A while back, I created a widget called NehgsTooltip. It worked fine. I later created another widget called NehgsLogin. Now, when I try to add NehgsTooltip to a page, the widget that appears on the page is called NehgsLogin.
The widget in my header has the right name
but when it gets dropped on the page the name changes
When I try to edit the widget, when I click the "choose" button, choose menu doesn't open. I'm not sure if this is because NehgsLogin doesn't have any options. However, when I manually enter the needed content title and ID and save it, the widget works as it's supposed to.
I can't figure out if there is an error happening in Ektron, or if the NehgsTooltip has just been misnamed somewhere. I checked the .ascx and .cshtml files and nowhere in there is the widget being names "NehgsLogin" (the phrase doesn't exist in any of those documents). I also checked the widget in settings, and both Widget Title and Widget Label are set correctly. What would be causing the widget to load as NehgsLogin, and is it actually loading the wrong widget, or is it just giving it the wrong title?
The title of the widget that you see in the Pagebuilder toolbox comes from the widget settings in the workarea. The title that is displayed on the widget itself is usually set in code behind like this:
protected void Page_Init(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
...
_host = Ektron.Cms.Widget.WidgetHost.GetHost(this) as Ektron.Cms.PageBuilder.WidgetHost;
_host.Title = "Archive Widget";
...
}
So I would check those two locations to ensure they are correct.
I see you are using CSHTML, and in another SO question you mention MVC, please not Ektron is not an MVC application.
I'm using a browser-enabled Infopath form with Sharepoint 2010 and I want to show a modal popup or even redirect to another page after clicking on Submit, saying "Thank you... Your form has been sent...".
I can't use a View (and change to that view on submit) because the form is inside a 'tab' in the page. I mean, the page contains 5 DIVs acessible through 5 buttons.
The DIV which is open by default is the 1st one. The form is inside the 5th DIV.
After the submit action (postback) the page reloads and the 1st DIV is shown, so the user can't see the View with "Thank you...."
Any ideias on how to solve this?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT 2
I tried Andreas' solution but didn't work.
This is my "submit" button code.
public void CTRL114_5_Clicked(object sender, ClickedEventArgs e)
{
try
{
SPSecurity.RunWithElevatedPrivileges(delegate()
{
this.Submit();
HttpContext.Current.Response.Redirect("ThankYou.aspx");
});
} catch (Exception ex)
{
System.Console.Write(ex.toString());
}
}
When I click on Submit, nothing happens. No page redirection, no view switching, no data submitting.
Any ideas?
Thank you!
Popup's do not work with browser-enabled forms, your only possibility will be custom code. In your submit code, you can do a redirect to a static thank you page.
HttpContext.Current.Response.Redirect("ThankYou.aspx");
Edit: In your VSTA Editor, make sure you have System.Web referenced. Without an actual exception it's really hard to say what's not working. Try the following code and post the output please -
try
{
SPSecurity.RunWithElevatedPrivileges(delegate()
{
this.Submit();
HttpContext.Current.Response.Redirect("ThankYou.aspx");
});
}
catch(Exception ex)
{
//implement your logging logic here
}
Edit 2: Can you open the form in preview mode and debug the code? Also consider changing your logging code to something like this:
catch(Exception ex)
{
using(var writer = new StreamWriter(#"C:\log.txt",true))
writer.WriteLine("{0}\t{1}", DateTime.Now, ex.Message);
}
because Console.WriteLine does not work with InfoPath and you never get hold of the actual exception. I'm afraid without a error messsage it will be quite hard to troubleshoot your issue any further.
Another way of redirecting is using the 'Source' parameter of the query string. It is, however, only possible to redirect to pages in the same site collection as the form. E.g.
http://[site]/_layouts/FormServer.aspx?XsnLocation=/sites/[site]/formservertemplates/[form].xsn<b>&Source=/sites/[site]/pages/[page]</b>
If ThankYou.aspx is outside the current site colleciton, you can redirect to a intermediary page which redirects to ThankYou.aspx. I have heard of no other way to bypass this.
