Trying to figure out how to set the location of a multi-location Netsuite so that on the web store it only will display the quantity of that location only. Currently it displays ALL locations (sums).
I would like js in the header possibly that will set the location to one location and then when using locationquantityavailable it will grab that locations quantity and displays it.
Anyone been able to display just a locations quantity?
You can mark your locations as making their inventory available in the web store. Then the standard sitebuilder tags quantityavailable and quantityonhand will pull from those.
If that doesn't work you could manage this by various forms of scripting.
Script your inventory affecting transactions so that inventory changes from the desired locations update custom item fields.
Create a Suitelet that takes a page's item ids as a query string and returns current inventory for those items.
create a non-stored custsom item field that populates with the results of a saved search. I doubt this option will work in the context of the web store but it's very low effort to check. Search for "Creating Custom Fields with Values Derived from Summary Search Results" in the Netsuite online help for details.
I've used the first two of these in production to achieve the result you're looking for.
each of these has advantages and disadvantages so there's a trade off between how busy your back-end is vs how busy the site is.

I have a custom page type for employees, and one of the fields is Location. I want to show/filter only employees in "San Jose" or "San Francisco" and used this WHERE condition below but it didn't work. Apparently, I missed something very basic. Could you help?
Location LIKE '%San%';
I did another test, where instead of page type, I used custom table with the exact field names and was able to filter using the same statement. On a related note, I'm new to Kentico and exploring which is more suitable for creating/maintaining a list of about 100 employees - Page Types or Custom Tables - with the ability to filter by department, location etc. Appreciated your input here as well. Best!
If you're adding the WHERE condition into a standard Kentico repeater or other data source, the syntax looks right except you do not need the semicolon ";".
You'll also want to double check the field name, and if you are limiting your query to certain columns (as is best practice especially for larger data sets) and be sure the field you are filtering on is being selected.
Regarding the management of your employee list, either method you've described will work. In that scenario it typically depends on who will be editing the content, and how frequently. It is more editor-friendly, in my opinion, to add those documents into the content tree. This also gives you quicker control over the order, and keeps it similar to how other content on the site is maintained. I also like to set up folders or other parent page types as categories if needed, so the documents can be dragged and dropped between them and it sets up a visual taxonomy that isn't possible if it's all stored in a table. Storing items in the tree also allows for workflow and versioning, as well as more granular control over permissions/access, if this is important to you.
It's awesome that you are thinking about how to best store your data in advance. There many factors to consider such as overall number of records, number of columns, the fact whether you need to use workflow, versioning, preview etc..
The best source of information regarding this would be this article which summarizes all options you have and gives clear explanations of which to use in which scenario.
And to your original question - What components are you using to display the data? Is the repeater? If so, can you make sure to set the Page types property to match the page type you are displaying? If the page types is not configured, Kentico will not load any custom fields because it doesn't know from which table it should load the data from.
Additionally make sure to either include the "Location" field in the Columns property or leave the columns blank (not recommended because then Kentico loads all columns which is like 200. when you count all from CMS_Document, CMS_Tree etc..)
Below is the framework that I use to debug whenever I wish to add a repeater and is facing some problem.
First get all the columns instead of accessing limited columns. Fetching all columns will make sure that I don't have any problem retrieving data.
If I am missing any particular column information name, then I would double check the column name.
I verify this by firing up SQL server management studio and access data from page type table or custom table.
If access to SQL server is not available(generally in Azure hosted solutions with restrictive access to DB), I would enable SQL debug from the settings and see what query repeater is generating to see if it is correct.
I need to create a library for meeting minutes and agendas exactly like
So basically I need a library that organizes meeting minutes and agendas by fiscal year, then Team name.
Any help pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated.
The web part is called a List View Web part.
To create one, first create a document library and add the relevant columns by which you want to organize the documents. Optionally, you can then create a view (or modify an existing view) in the library to display the documents grouped by the desired columns.
Once the library has been created, you can show it on any page by adding its list view web part to that page.
Every view that you create in the library automatically gets its own page with the appropriate list view web part already added.
I have started learning CRM 2011 some couple of weeks ago as my job requires me to get in to it. I am from SharePoint and SQL background. Know other of ASP.NET or oData etc...
My question is, I have dynamic marketing list and our head od marketing want to use that but wants to exclude a static list of customers. We have some bad data and they are bouncing back in email marketing.
Is there any way to create a dynamic marketing list and then exclude a static marketing list from it? Any help will be gratful (links would be awsome!)
Many thanks
I don't think this is possible, I've played for a while, I was able to create a dynamic marketing list which included the results of a static list, but I couldn't get it to exclude a static list.
My suggestion would be to find a commonality (or create one, e.g. a new field or possibly using the marketing preferences) between those contacts and add that filter into your dynamic list.
This might be too late but I thought let me add the solution I now use for this issue.
Out of box this is not possible as mentioned by others. This is what I did to fix it:
1. Add temp flag in crm
2. Create a basic Windows form application where you search for a static market list that you would like to exclude (drop down menu was too big)
3. once selected the correct static marketing list, hit the button that will set the temp flag value of all contacts in this marketing list to '1'.
4. When creating dynamic list, add extra criteria, where temp flag is != 1.
Once the campaign is sent, reset temp flag to 0.
I'm a coldfusion developer, and I've been asked to rewrite a coldfusion application for SP 2010. I have no SP experience, but I'm now the SP admin.
My application is a waiting list for customers that enter a service center. The customer is entered into a List that tracks the following:
Name
Location (drop-down list of physical store locations. no multiple/custom values)
Check-In Time (timestamp for when customer was added to list)
Service Required (drop-down list, not allowing multiple or custom values)
Staff Member Requested (option, user select box)
Time Seen by Staff (timestamp when list item edit begins)
Seen By Name (name of user that edited record)
Time Finished with Staff (timestamp when list item edit is saved)
There are a few pieces of functionality that I don't know how to build into this list.
1
The records on the list view must be automatically filtered by the location column. The location to be viewed should be based upon the users group membership. (one group per location)
The Time Seen date/time field must be a timestamp that occurs when the list item is opened for editing.
The Seen By name must be automatically entered when when the user opens the list item for editing.
The Time Finished timestamp must be automatically entered when the user saves the list item after editing.
I don't expect anyone reading this to create this for me, but I would truly appreciate any tips, suggestions, or tutorials you can point me towards that will help me to accomplish these goals.
You will have to create such a list with the SharePoint Administration. You have several possibilities to do this. You can build them in you web browser using your SharePoint Site with the necessary rights, you can use the Microsoft SharePoint Designer (similar, less functionalities but in my opinion easier to use) or you could deploy the list after you built it in Visual Studio (best solution if you want to deploy it on more than one server or you want to change your list afterwards, but difficult).
There are some things you have to know: A list manages one or more content types. A content type is a collection of columns that contain the types (and more information) of your data. There are templates for content types and columns, but you will have to create your own content type and maybe some new columns as the templates might not be enough for your demands.
I'm not sure how to manage your first point. There is definitely a solution but I'm beginner, too.
The other 3 points could be managed by workflows: You can define workflows for a list, that do things after an item of your list is created or edited. I'm not sure if this will be useful for your 2nd point.
Another possibility would be to build a webpart, but that wont be a solution for a coldfusion project as I think. In a webpart you could handle all the interaction that are made by an user and change your list item individually.
A third way is to build an event receiver (using Visual Studio) for your list, but then you would have to build your list with the help of the VS as well.
I'm sure that won't answer all your questions but I hope you have some directions that you can inform about.
Our company is split into divisions. These divisions work for client companies and are then further split into account teams that work on projects for a product of the clients.
So the structure goes Division > Clients > Accounts > Projects. And this is mirrored in the setup of our sharepoint installation. At each stage from Division to Account there is a subsite. Access to each subsite is controlled by AD groups and on each subsite there is a 'latest news' announcements list
What we want to do is have a 'wall' of announcements that feeds through so that each user can see on the top-level site all the posts in all of these anouncement lists, but this must be filtered using the AD groups that they are a member of so that confidential information isn't shown to someone who shouldn't see it.
Can anybody think of a way to do this?
Let's see - are those lists split accross site collection? With what tool you want to accomplish this?
You have several options (if you are within a site collection):
Use Content Query Web Part to
aggregate list items. You can
customize it to display fields
you like the way you like.
You can use SharePoint Designer.
Using Object Model/WebServices: Use
SPSiteDataQuery class to query
multiple lists at once and then
SPGridView to display data.
As you have a MOSS build, you could
even use CrossListQueryCache.
It's also a cross list query that
has builtin caching and audience
targeting. Be sure to read this to be sure caching is working.
If you want to aggregate between multiple site collections, then you will need to write code that get's all your SPSite objects and execute SPSiteDataQuery on them.
Maybe you can find out some additional information on Rollup of all Tasks of a Recurring Meeting in SharePoint
Here is how we are doing it.
Set up a content type for each level of announcement. We have national, state, district and the basic site level announcements. Therefore I have 1 national content type, 10 state content types (because we are in 10 states) and 1 content type for each district. All of these content types inherit from the base Announcement type with no modification.
I added a content query web part. I exported it. I edited the XML in the .webpart file to point to a new custom ItemStyle_Announcements.xsl file I had created. I import the modified .webpart and delete the default Content Query Webpart.
I modify the ItemStyle_Announcements.xsl to create the structure and divs I need for the styling. I add styles to the default style sheet I have already created for my site to get the look and feel I want. (I happend to have two styles for these, one featured/most recent item which is big and full, then a listing the next 10)
I find an announcement list that will possibly post to the national new. I add the content types as needed. Now the end user can choose what scope of announcement they want from the New menu.
This remaining issue is that right now, the States and Districts must have TWO announcement webparts on their home pages. One that lists everything local to that site (regardless of scope) and one that has unit announcements aggregated from the other sites in the same state / district.
