Backup and Restore the content DB from SP2010 --> SP2016 , since its an out of box site.
Perform manual migration of list, libraries, subsites using Export/Import commands and recreating in SP2016 site.

Using SharePoint Designer to design a SharePoint 365 (online) site?

I'm new to SharePoint development and design. Someone recommended using SharePoint Designer as a quicker way to have the site have a specific look that is different from the SharePoint Look Book. We want sections of our page to have borders with rounded edges, and specific color headers. I found several contradicting articles about using SharePoint Designer. Do you recommend using it on the latest version of SharePoint online in 2022? Have you had any success, or have you encountered any issues?
I enable scripting on my site. I tried connecting SharePoint Designer 2013 to my SharePoint online site successfully, but would like to know if it's a good idea to move forward with it.
As you can read from here SP Designer is supported on the latest On-Premises version of SharePoint(2019) on the bare minimum. But as you can see it is a product that is steadily heading to it's end-of-support/deprecation lifecycle.
Also, as you can understand, since it's development was halted since the 2013 version, a lot have changed since then, and many of the new features are not even supported by SP Designer.
If your are trying to make modifications to a SharePoint Online site, I would suggest using more modern tools(PowerApps, Power Automate, Modern UI, SPFx etc) and leaving SP Designer to it's way to deprecation.
You can also, update your question in terms of what you are trying to achieve and we could propose you some ideas :)

How to export/move a Sharepoint 2013 site

After building a protoype Sharepoint site for the client I am now looking to export it for the client's eyes.
I'm looking for the best solution for exporting, sharing or moving a Sharepoint 2013 site for the client to see on their server. The site is currently only on one server so no server farms are involved.
The site is built using Sharepoint 2013.
I've been running through this guide, but could anyopne clarify if this process creates a back-up of the entire site or just the database: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee428301(v=office.15).aspx
Any help would be greatly appreciated - Thanks!
There is a great video on how to do a backup and restore in SP10.
This does work for SP13 except the backup needs to be done with PowerShell.
How Do I: Backup and Restore a SharePoint 2010 Site Collection?
The backup and restore is not guaranteed to give you the exact result as some features could be activated and some CSS could change the look of the imported site.

Restoring sharepoint 2010 subsite backup in sharepoint 2013 site

I have taken a back up of sharepoint 2010 site using central admin & have .cmp file.
Now I would like to restore the site in a sharepint 2013 site.
ie, I want to import this site to a 2013 subsite.
Is it possible to restore 2010 site back up to 2013 site?
Please share your thoughts.
Regards
Vishnu
please lookup this link as the answer is pointing out, it doesn't work that way. Try to use Move-SPSite to move your site into a seperate database. That way you could upgrade that database to SP2013.
If you're talking about an SPWeb there seems to be an other solution described here.

sharepoint 2010 Query data from database

On the main page home.aspx, I would like to query some data from Oracle database.
I've carefully looked for a such option, but I cannot find anything releated to it.
Can someone please guide me?
Thank you.
Install the Oracle connector and register it as safe in the web.config of the SharePoint Web. Use it like any other sql connector but with OracleConnection as you should.
I myself would have chosen a bit different approach and developed a webpart instead. If you develop and deploy a webpart project in SharePoint 2010 any used modules should be properly registered automatically during the deployment. Start with webparts here, http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/ee513148.aspx
And if you don't know what the above means you probably shouldn't mess with SharePoint that way! (Sorry but it's true)

sharepoint fba

i have a wss 3.0 site up and running using forms based authentication. Is there a way to upload multiple files (basically copy and paste a folder containing files)?
also, when i try to access the site using designer 2007, i can't access the site and it asks me to install sharepoint services or frontpage extensions. how can i modify the site using designer?
I know that in designer that the functionality exists to copy/paste a folder.
Thank you!
Regarding your first question, see this on Stack Overflow. Essentially, it's by design and Microsoft don't give you that functionality. You could try turning on Client Integration but I don't know if it will work. If you need an alternative, searching around I found UploadZen which seems to support multiple uploads with FBA.
Are you also using forms auth with SharePoint Designer? The bottom of this blog post from Mike Hatch has information that might help you.
Try out installing the SP2 for the SharePoint 2007 and the office Application. In the Office application they have solved may of the issue that were part of FBA enabled sites. Please refer to this for more information.
